Abstract
Description
The present invention is a technique for uniformly performing gravure coating, and more specifically, a gravure coating apparatus having a gravure roll formed in steps with a plurality of coating surfaces provided with a scraping member, and a coating surface It is related with the technique which scrapes off the end surface of the large diameter part provided with the scraping member.
In recent years, a secondary battery is used as a power source for many electronic devices, and the use of a secondary battery is also being studied as a power source for vehicles. Along with this, demands for secondary batteries with larger capacity, higher output, and lighter weight have also increased.
Against this background, various secondary batteries such as lithium ion secondary batteries and nickel hydride secondary batteries are being developed.
As a method for producing a secondary battery, a method is known in which an active material is applied to a metal core (foil) and wound to be used as an electrode plate of the battery. There is a case in which a protective film made of a porous insulating film is further formed on the surface of the coated part coated with the active material.
Various methods for applying an active material or a protective film to such a core material have been proposed, but in order to maintain the uniformity of the film thickness, a method of applying a coating material using a gravure coating apparatus is available. Conceivable. This is because it is advantageous to use a gravure coating device when the coating portion formed on the core is thin.
When a coating material such as an active material or a protective film is applied to the core using a gravure coating apparatus, the flow is as follows.
First, a coating material is apply | coated to a core material using a gravure coating apparatus. Thereafter, the coated part is dried and compressed. Finally, a secondary battery electrode plate having a desired size is manufactured by cutting.
When such a method of applying a coating material with a gravure coating apparatus is used, the coating speed cannot be increased so much. Therefore, in order to reduce the production cost, a method for producing a plurality of core materials at a time by providing a plurality of gravure roll plate cylinders used in a gravure coating apparatus has been studied.
Patent Document 1 discloses a method of using a gravure coating device when applying a coating material such as an active material or a protective film to a core material.
A gravure roll for applying a coating material to a core material includes a plurality of plate cylinders, and a small-diameter portion having a smaller step diameter between the plate cylinders. Further, there is provided a scraping member that is in contact with the side surface of the plate cylinder portion in the roll radial direction and has an edge for scraping off the coating liquid as the coating material from the plate cylinder portion.
The plate cylinder is brought into contact with the coating liquid on the lower surface of the gravure roll, so that the coating liquid is supplied to the surface of the plate cylinder and the coating liquid is scraped off at the edge of the scraping member. It is possible to ensure the uniformity of the film thickness of the part.
It is the film thickness of the coating liquid formed at the end of the plate cylinder that affects the film thickness of the coating liquid applied to the core material.
When applying to a core material using a gravure roll, a plate cylinder portion to be applied is formed on the gravure roll, and a small diameter smaller than the diameter of the plate cylinder portion in order to form an uncoated portion on the core material The part is formed. If a plurality of these portions are formed, the plate cylinder can be formed in a stripe shape.
However, the gravure roll is constructed so that the plate cylinder is immersed in the pan containing the coating material, and the coating material stays on the surface of the plate cylinder, so the coating material is attached to the side of the plate cylinder. If this happens, the coating material will flow to the surface side of the plate cylinder, and as a result, the coating liquid will accumulate at the edge of the surface of the plate cylinder, resulting in a change in the width of application to the core material. It becomes.
When there is only one plate cylinder provided on the gravure roll of the gravure coating device, and a single coated part is formed on the core, plate-shaped scraping members are brought into contact with both ends of the plate cylinder. The excess coating liquid can be scraped off. However, when a plurality of plate cylinders are provided, it is difficult to insert a plate-shaped scraping member between adjacent plate cylinders.
For this reason, between the plate cylinder part of the gravure roll and the plate cylinder part, it contacts along the roll radial direction so as to contact the side surface of the plate cylinder part, and scrapes off the coating liquid as the coating material from the plate cylinder part. By inserting the scraping member on which the edge is formed, the edge of the scraping member scrapes off the coating liquid and suppresses the change in the coating width.
By doing so, it is possible to insert a scraping member between the plate cylinder and the plate cylinder.
As a result, the coating liquid does not easily accumulate at the end of the surface of the plate cylinder, and it becomes possible to apply the coating liquid with a uniform thickness to the core material.
However, Patent Document 1 is considered to have the following problems.
When an active material is applied to the core material to form an electrode for a secondary battery, the thickness and width accuracy of the uncoated portion that becomes the lead portion and the coated portion to which the coating material is applied are required. . This is because, in particular, when the coating portion is formed in a stripe shape on the core material, the electrode is cut into a necessary width finally, so that the variation in width is integrated as an error and affects the performance of the battery.
When the thickness of the coating portion is partially increased, when used as an electrode of a battery, the core material that is wound and applied in multiple layers is laminated, which causes a problem that an error in thickness is accumulated.
Therefore, Patent Document 1 employs a system in which the coating material is inserted between the plate cylinder portion and the plate cylinder portion of the gravure roll and the coating material is scraped off at the edge portion on the side surface of the scraping member.
The scraping member of this Patent Document 1 is in contact with a coating material between a printing drum portion and a printing drum portion of a gravure roll along a roll radial direction so as to contact a side surface of the printing drum portion. A scraping member on which an edge for scraping the coating liquid is formed is inserted.
However, the scraping member needs to be fixed to an external device with respect to the gravure roll that rotates to apply to the core material. This is because the edge provided on the scraping member needs to rotate in the opposite direction to the gravure roll in order to scrape the coating material from the end face of the plate cylinder. For this reason, it is necessary to provide a slight clearance between the edge of the plate cylinder portion of the gravure roll and the scraping member. This is because, if the scraping member and the end surface of the plate cylinder of the gravure roll are closely attached, there is a possibility of causing a problem such that friction is generated and the movement of the gravure roll is deteriorated.
However, if the coating material (coating liquid) enters the clearance portion, this results in the swell of the coating material on the edge of the coating surface, which is the surface of the plate cylinder portion of the gravure roll.
In addition, the gravure roll needs to be removed or replaced when it is consumed or when maintenance is performed. Therefore, if the clearance between the scraping member and the side surface of the plate cylinder is made severe, such a removal or replacement takes time and is not preferable.
On the other hand, when the clearance is set to be rough, the amount of the coating material that enters between the scraping member and the side surface of the plate cylinder portion increases, resulting in a larger swell of the coating material at the edge of the coating surface. It will be.
Therefore, it is considered that the method of Patent Document 1 cannot sufficiently suppress the swell of the coating material at the end of the gravure roll.
Then, in order to solve such a subject, this invention aims at providing the gravure coating apparatus which can suppress the swell of the coating material in the coating surface edge part.
In order to achieve the object, the gravure coating apparatus according to the present invention has the following characteristics.
(1) In a gravure coating apparatus that applies a coating material to a sheet using a gravure roll,
The gravure roll is disposed between a plurality of coating surfaces on which the coating material is applied to the sheet and the adjacent coating surface, and has a small diameter formed smaller than a large diameter portion on which the coating surface is formed. A scraping member disposed between the adjacent coating surfaces and contacting the large diameter end surface of the large diameter portion, wherein the scraping member has a width of the plate-like elastic member. The gravure roll is folded at the center in the direction, and the gravure roll side is valley-folded at the center in the width direction, and the mountain fold of the scraping member is forward in the rotation direction of the gravure roll. It is arranged in the direction.
(2) In the gravure coating apparatus according to (1),
The scraping member has a residual stress generated by forming the mountain fold and the valley fold portions on the plate-like elastic member, and a restoring force due to the residual stress causes a trough of the valley fold. A force acts in the direction in which the angle widens, and the edge portion of the scraping member is pressed against the end surface of the large diameter portion.
With the gravure coating apparatus according to the present invention having such characteristics, the following actions and effects can be obtained.
First, the invention described in (1) is a gravure coating apparatus that applies a coating material to a sheet using a gravure roll, wherein the gravure roll is adjacent to a plurality of coating surfaces on which the coating material is applied to the sheet. A large-diameter end face of the large-diameter portion, which is disposed between adjacent coating surfaces and has a small-diameter portion formed smaller than the large-diameter portion disposed between the matching coated surfaces. The scraping member comprises a shape in which the plate-like elastic member is mountain-folded at the center in the width direction and the gravure roll side is valley-folded at the center in the width direction. The mountain folds of the scraping member are disposed in a direction that is forward of the gravure roll in the rotational direction.
For this reason, the scraping member can scrape the coating material attached to the side surface of the large diameter portion by bringing the scraping member into contact with the end surface of the large diameter portion which is the side surface of the large diameter portion of the gravure roll. For this reason, when a coating material is applied to a sheet on the coating surface of the gravure roll, a coating portion having a uniform thickness can be formed in a sheet shape. This effect is due to the action described below.
In order to surely scrape off the coating material from the end surface of the large-diameter portion of the gravure roll, it is important that the scraping member is pressed against the end surface of the large-diameter portion with an appropriate pressing force.
This pressing force can be obtained by the restoring force of the scraping member by configuring the scraping member in a shape in which a plate-like elastic member is folded.
In order to obtain an appropriate restoring force, the plate-like elastic member is folded in a mountain, and the gravure roll side, which is the tip, is folded in a valley. And the mountain which carried out mountain folding in the same direction as the rotation direction front of a gravure roll has become convex.
For this reason, the end portion of the scraping member is pressed against the end surface of the large-diameter portion of the gravure roll by the restoring force of the elastic member, and acts to scrape the coating material.
Furthermore, even when the scraping member is worn due to contact with the gravure roll, the elastic member is in a bent state, so that it is possible to maintain the force that is pressed by acting in the restoring direction to some extent.
The scraping member is pressed against the end surface of the large-diameter portion of the gravure roll with an appropriate force, so that unnecessary coating material is scraped off. And since the coating material of a large diameter part end surface is scraped off by the scraping member, forces, such as a centrifugal force, act on the coating surface side, and it can prevent that a coating material flows. Therefore, the coating material does not rise at the end of the coating surface, and the coating material can be formed as a coating portion with a uniform thickness on the sheet.
Thus, it becomes possible to provide the gravure coating apparatus which can suppress the swell of the coating material at the coating surface end by using the scraping member obtained by bending the plate-like elastic member.
Further, the invention described in (2) is the gravure coating apparatus described in (1), wherein the scraping member is a residue generated by forming a mountain fold and a valley fold in the plate-like elastic member. The force acts in the direction in which the angle of the valley fold widens due to the restoring force due to the residual stress, and the edge portion of the scraping member is pressed against the end surface of the large diameter portion.
As described in the problem, there is a phenomenon that the coating material swells at the end of the coating surface due to the influence of the coating material on the large diameter end surface of the gravure roll. For this reason, it is necessary to scrape off the coating material attached to the end face of the large diameter portion with the scraping member. However, since the scraping member always comes into contact with the end surface of the large diameter portion, the result is that the scraping member is gradually worn.
In the present invention, since the scraping member is formed by folding a plate-like elastic member into a mountain and a valley, residual stress is accumulated in the scraping member. By gradually releasing the residual stress, it is possible to obtain a pressing force that keeps the scraping member in contact with the end surface of the large diameter portion.
Furthermore, since the scraping member is formed by folding the plate-like elastic member into a mountain fold and a valley fold, the restoring force due to the residual stress acts in the direction in which the angle of the valley fold valleys is widened. Since the direction of the restoring force is not perpendicular to the end surface of the large diameter portion, the scraping member obtains a force that is pressed against the end surface of the large diameter portion, and obtains a force that works in a direction perpendicular to the end surface of the large diameter portion. become.
As a result, when the edge portion of the scraping member is worn, the angle of the portion that is worn and cut off from the edge portion of the scraping member is larger than the angle formed by the end surface of the large diameter portion and the surface of the coating surface. Become.
That is, even if the edge portion of the scraping member is worn, the scraping member does not come into contact with the coated surface even if it comes into contact with the end surface of the large diameter portion.
For example, even if the plate material is pressed at right angles to the end surface of the large diameter portion, it is considered that it functions as a scraping member, but when wear progresses, the angle of the portion that is worn away from the plate material and cut off is large. The angle is the same as the angle formed by the end face and the coating surface. In this case, since the plate material comes into contact with the coated surface side, there is a possibility that it may become an obstacle when a uniform coating material layer is formed on the surface of the coated surface.
However, the scraping member described in the present invention is formed by the plate-like elastic member being fold-folded and valley-folded, so that the restoring force due to residual stress works in the direction in which the angle of the valley-fold valleys widens. In other words, even when the scraping member is worn, it is possible to prevent a part of the scraping member from coming into contact with the coating surface.
For this reason, it becomes possible to provide the gravure coating apparatus which makes it possible to apply | coat the coating material of uniform thickness to a sheet | seat.

At this time, the
In order to prevent the
Since the

Since the
The
Therefore, the effect that it becomes possible to apply the
FIG. 9 is a cross-sectional view showing the state of the
The
This is considered to be caused by the
As described above, when the

However, the
If the
Moreover, if the
However, by providing the
Since the
Further, the
By these actions, the accuracy of the width of the
Further, in the
FIG. 11 is a perspective view showing a state where the
The
For this reason, the

Therefore, the force acting on the
Therefore, the escape side 40c2 does not contact the coating surface 21aa.
