Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a vehicle control apparatus that performs intermittent operation of an engine.
Conventionally, in an internal combustion engine such as a diesel engine, in order to prevent the emission from deteriorating, priority is given to an increase in the catalyst temperature when the catalyst has not reached the activation temperature.
For example, in
However, in a vehicle that performs intermittent engine operation, such as a hybrid vehicle or an eco-run vehicle, the frequency of stopping the engine is high, and the catalyst is not easily warmed up. Therefore, when the engine is restarted in a low temperature state where the catalyst has not reached the activation temperature, there has been a problem that the emission deterioration due to the decrease in the catalyst temperature cannot be prevented only by controlling the exhaust gas switching valve.
The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and suppresses emission deterioration due to a decrease in catalyst temperature even in a vehicle that performs intermittent operation of an engine such as a hybrid vehicle or an eco-run vehicle. It is an object of the present invention to provide a vehicle control device capable of performing the above-mentioned.
In one aspect of the present invention, a control device for a vehicle that performs intermittent operation of an engine includes a catalyst disposed in an exhaust passage and an upstream of the catalyst in the exhaust passage, and has an exhaust heat recovery function and an EGR cooler function. And a catalyst warm-up means for performing warm-up of the catalyst by the exhaust gas and prohibiting temporary stop of the engine when the catalyst has a temperature equal to or lower than the first catalyst bed temperature. Features.
The above-described vehicle control device is suitably used for a hybrid vehicle and an eco-run vehicle that perform intermittent engine operation. The vehicle control device includes a catalyst, a heat exchanger, and catalyst warm-up means. The catalyst is disposed in the exhaust passage. The heat exchanger integrates the functions of the exhaust heat recovery device and the EGR cooler, and is disposed upstream of the catalyst in the exhaust passage. The catalyst warm-up means is, for example, an ECU (Electronic Control Unit), and when the catalyst bed temperature is a predetermined temperature, for example, an activation temperature or less, the catalyst warm-up is performed with exhaust gas, and the engine is temporarily stopped. To do. In this way, by prohibiting the engine from being temporarily stopped until the catalyst bed temperature reaches a predetermined temperature, it is possible to prevent emission deterioration due to the low temperature state of the catalyst, that is, the state where the activation temperature has not been reached, when the engine is restarted. it can.
One aspect of the vehicle control device described above includes an EGR valve that adjusts recirculation of EGR gas that is part of exhaust gas, an exhaust gas switching valve that adjusts the flow of exhaust gas from an exhaust passage to the heat exchanger, The catalyst warm-up means controls the EGR valve and the exhaust gas switching valve to perform warm-up of the catalyst.
In this aspect, the vehicle control apparatus further includes an EGR valve and an exhaust gas switching valve. The EGR valve adjusts the amount of EGR that is reduced by an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) device. The exhaust gas switching valve adjusts the flow of exhaust gas from the exhaust passage to the heat exchanger. By controlling the EGR valve and the exhaust gas switching valve, it is possible to adjust the flow of exhaust gas so as to give priority to warming up of the catalyst, and it is possible to shorten the period during which the engine is temporarily stopped.
In one aspect of the vehicle control device, the catalyst warm-up means closes the EGR valve so that the EGR gas does not recirculate when the catalyst is at or below the first catalyst bed temperature, and the exhaust gas The exhaust gas switching valve is closed so as not to flow into the heat exchanger.
Another aspect of the above vehicle control device is characterized in that the catalyst warm-up means is executed when the engine water temperature is equal to or higher than a predetermined temperature. Thereby, when the engine water temperature is equal to or lower than a predetermined temperature, it is possible to prohibit the engine from being stopped.
Another aspect of the above vehicle control device further includes a battery for driving a motor, and the catalyst warm-up means is executed when the battery has a predetermined temperature or a predetermined charge amount. Features. The vehicle control device is mainly used for a hybrid vehicle and includes a battery. In this case, when the battery is not at a predetermined charge amount or the like, the engine is run without running by the motor.
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
[Vehicle configuration]
First, a hybrid vehicle to which the vehicle control device of the present invention is applied will be described. The configuration of the hybrid vehicle described below is the same as the configuration of a general hybrid vehicle.
FIG. 1 is a diagram showing a schematic configuration of the
The
The motor MG1 is configured to function mainly as a generator for charging the
These motors MG1 and MG2 are configured as, for example, synchronous motor generators, and include a rotor having a plurality of permanent magnets on the outer peripheral surface, and a stator wound with a three-phase coil that forms a rotating magnetic field. The planetary gear (planetary gear mechanism) 104 is configured to be able to distribute the output of the
The
ECU10は、図示しないCPU(Central Processing Unit)、ROM(Read Only Memory)及びRAM(Random Access Memory)などを備える。
The
[Vehicle control device]
First, the configuration of the vehicle control device according to the present embodiment will be described. FIG. 2 is a block diagram showing an example of a schematic configuration of a
The
Further, the
The
The EGR valve 9 is a valve for controlling the amount of exhaust gas to be recirculated (hereinafter referred to as “EGR amount”). The opening degree of the EGR valve 9 is controlled by a control signal S2 supplied from the
A
The
The exhaust
Furthermore, the
The
The configuration of the
Next, the state of the airflow of each exhaust gas, which changes by the control of the EGR valve 9 and the exhaust

FIG. 3B shows a state in which the

FIG. 4A shows a state in which the

FIG. 4B shows a state in which the
In the heat recovery / EGR cooler mode, as indicated by an
When a gasoline engine vehicle or a diesel engine vehicle is targeted, the
Therefore, by executing the above switching without considering the catalyst bed temperature, there is a case where the
Therefore, in the present embodiment, the
FIG. 5 is a flowchart illustrating an example of a travel mode switching process in which the
First, the
If the engine water temperature is equal to or higher than the predetermined temperature (step S101; Yes), the
When it is determined that the temperature and charge amount of the
When the EGR valve 9 is open, that is, when the
Next, the
When the exhaust
When the catalyst bed temperature is equal to or higher than the first catalyst bed temperature Z (step S107; Yes), the
In the above processing, by executing steps S103 to S106, the
