Abstract
【解決手段】データ線211とゲート線212との交差部に接続された画素213からなる表示パネル21と、複数本のデータ線211を順次選択して画素213に映像データを供給するデータ線ドライバ22とが設けられたパネル基板20を備える液晶型表示デバイス1であって、フレームレートに応じてM本の信号線Sig1〜SigMを選択して映像データを伝送するコントロールドライバ10を備え、パネル基板20には、N本の各信号線Sig1〜SigNを切換回路群SWを介してデータ線211と接続する接続部223が設けられ、データ線ドライバ22は、フレームレートに応じて接続部223の切換回路群SWを制御して映像データが伝送されてくるM本の信号線Sig1〜SigMをデータ線211と接続して映像データを供給する。

Claims (4)
- 一の方向に連続して並んだデータ線と他の方向に連続して並んだゲート線との交差部に接続された画素からなる表示パネルと、該表示パネルの一の方向に連続して並んだ複数本のデータ線を順次選択して、該選択した複数本のデータ線に接続された画素に映像データを供給するデータ線ドライバとが設けられたパネル基板を備え、外部から入力した映像データが示す映像を表示する表示装置において、
合計N(Nは自然数。)本の信号線を介して上記パネル基板と接続され、上記映像データのフレームレートに応じて該N本の信号線のうちM(Mは、M≦Nを満たす自然数。)本の信号線を選択して、該選択したM本の信号線を介してM相の映像データを該パネル基板に伝送する制御手段を備え、
上記パネル基板には、上記制御手段と接続されたN本の各信号線を切換回路を介して上記データ線と接続する接続手段が設けられ、
上記データ線ドライバは、上記映像データのフレームレートに応じて、上記接続手段の切換回路を制御して上記映像データが伝送されてくるM本の信号線を上記データ線と接続し、上記表示パネルの一の方向に連続して並んだM本のデータ線を順次選択して該選択したM本のデータ線に接続された各画素にM本の上記信号線を介して伝送されてくる各映像データを供給することを特徴とする表示装置。 - 上記接続手段は、上記制御手段と接続された各信号線を合計K(KはK≦Nを満たす自然数。)本に分岐させ該分岐させた各信号線をそれぞれ切換回路を介して上記一の方向にN本置きに並んだ上記データ線と接続して、該制御手段と接続された各信号線から供給される映像データを該一の方向にN/K本置きに並んだ上記データ線に供給するように複数の該切換回路を上記パネル基板に設けたものであり、
上記データ線ドライバは、上記映像データのフレームレートに応じて、N/M=L(Lは、L≦Kを満たす自然数。)を満たすM個の信号線から伝送されてくる映像データに対して、上記接続手段が各信号線毎に接続されたK個の切換回路のうちL個の切換回路を電気的に接続し、上記一の方向に連続して並んだM本のデータ線を順次選択して該選択したM本のデータ線に接続された各画素にM本の上記信号線を介して伝送されてくる各映像データを供給することを特徴とする請求項1記載の表示装置。 - 上記表示パネルには、上記一の方向として水平方向に連続して上記データ線が設けられており、
上記制御手段は、水平方向に並んだ上記映像データの表示タイミングを示す水平期間開始信号と該水平期間開始信号の基準クロックを示す水平方向クロック信号とから上記映像データのフレームレートを検出する検出手段と、該検出手段が検出したフレームレートに応じて、上記データ線ドライバが映像データに応じて上記画素に供給する駆動電圧を生成するための対向電極電圧値を補正する補正手段とが設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の表示装置。 - 上記表示パネルには、上記一の方向として水平方向に連続して上記データ線が設けられており、
上記制御手段は、水平方向に並んだ画素に書き込む上記映像データの表示タイミングを示す水平期間開始信号と、該水平期間開始信号の基準クロックを示す水平方向クロック信号とから上記映像データのフレームレートを検出する検出手段と、該検出手段が検出したフレームレートに応じて上記映像データが示す映像のガンマ値を補正するように該映像データを補正する補正手段とが設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の表示装置。
