Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a hydrogen generator and a hydrogen generation method having a function of generating hydrogen gas supplied to a fuel cell.
A fuel cell is an energy source that has attracted attention because it has higher power generation efficiency than other power generation systems and does not generate substances that pollute the atmosphere. In a hydrogen supply type fuel cell, air (oxygen) is supplied to the cathode and hydrogen is supplied to the anode in order to generate power. Hydrogen becomes hydrogen ions and electrons by the catalytic reaction at the anode, and the hydrogen ions move in the electrolyte and react with oxygen by the catalytic reaction at the cathode to become water. On the other hand, the electrons travel through the external circuit and move to the cathode. Electric energy is generated by the movement of the electrons.
As described above, it is necessary to supply fuel such as hydrogen to the fuel cell. Accordingly, various apparatuses for generating hydrogen are known and disclosed in, for example,
Further, the hydrogen gas generation unit disclosed in
In the hydrogen generator as described above, it may be desirable to control the amount of water fed into the reaction vessel to be constant. In order to control (limit) the feed amount of water, it is preferable to use a pump. However, a space for housing the pump and a driving mechanism are required, which causes an increase in cost and an increase in the size of the apparatus. In particular, when a hydrogen generator is incorporated in a portable device such as a mobile phone, a PDA, or a notebook computer, a configuration that can achieve a reduction in size as much as possible is required. That is, a hydrogen generator equipped with a small reaction liquid supply device that can supply water without using a pump is desired. In addition, in the case of a hydrogen generator for portable equipment, the amount of water fed into the reaction vessel is very small (for example, 2 to 3 cc per hour), and such a small amount of water can be sent in a fixed amount. Required. Furthermore, in order to generate hydrogen gas in a stable state, the water feed amount is required to have a certain degree of accuracy.
However, on the other hand, if the amount of water fed into the reaction vessel is very small as described above, there is a problem that it takes time until the first hydrogen generation when the hydrogen generator is started.
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and the problem is that when a reaction liquid such as water is sent from the liquid storage unit to the hydrogen generation unit, even if the amount is small, it is sent out in a fixed amount. It is possible to provide a hydrogen generation apparatus and a hydrogen generation method capable of generating hydrogen in a short time at start-up.

In order to solve the above problems, a hydrogen generator according to the present invention provides:
A reaction liquid storage unit for storing the reaction liquid;
A reaction liquid discharge passage for discharging the reaction liquid from the reaction liquid storage unit;
A hydrogen generation part that generates hydrogen gas by reacting the discharged reaction liquid with a hydrogen generator;
A gas containing portion for containing compressed gas;
A gas supply path for supplying the compressed gas in the gas container to the reaction liquid container;
An adjustment mechanism for adjusting the size of the flow path cross section in the gas supply path;

By switching the open / close mechanism from the closed state to the open state, the compressed gas temporarily stored in the gas supply path between the adjustment mechanism and the open / close mechanism is allowed to act on the reaction liquid surface in the reaction liquid storage unit. In the initial stage of the open state, the excess reaction liquid can be discharged from the reaction liquid discharge path.
The operation and effect of the hydrogen generator having such a configuration will be described. This apparatus includes a reaction liquid storage unit that stores a reaction liquid and a gas storage unit that stores a compressed gas, which are connected by a gas supply path. The reaction liquid in the reaction liquid storage part is discharged (sent out) from the reaction liquid discharge path to the hydrogen generation part. A hydrogen generating agent is accommodated in the hydrogen generating part, and hydrogen gas is generated by reacting with the reaction solution.
The compressed gas in the gas storage portion passes through the gas supply path adjusted by the adjusting mechanism and gradually flows into the gas supply path. The gas supply path is provided with an opening / closing mechanism that opens and closes the flow path downstream of the adjustment mechanism. When the opening / closing mechanism is in a closed state, the compressed gas should be filled in the gas storage section and immediately before the opening / closing mechanism of the gas supply path. It becomes. In this state, by switching the open / close mechanism from the closed state to the open state, the compressed gas temporarily stored in the gas supply path between the adjustment mechanism and the open / close mechanism is supplied to the reaction liquid storage unit at once. . At this time, the compressed gas in the gas storage section is restricted from flowing into the gas supply path by the adjusting mechanism provided in the cross section of the flow path, and the amount supplied to the gas supply path and the reaction liquid storage section is negligibly small. It is. The compressed gas supplied to the reaction liquid storage unit at a stroke acts on the reaction liquid surface, and the excess reaction liquid is discharged from the reaction liquid discharge channel at the initial stage of the open state. As a result, even when the open / close mechanism is switched from the closed state to the open state and the hydrogen generator is started, an excessive reaction liquid is supplied to the hydrogen generating agent, and the first hydrogen generation can be performed in a short time. Here, the excessive reaction liquid means that the reaction liquid is excessive as compared with a small amount of the reaction liquid required when hydrogen generation described in detail below is performed constantly.
By applying compressed gas to the reaction liquid surface in the reaction liquid container, pressure can be applied uniformly to the reaction liquid, and even when a small amount of compressed gas is used, the reaction liquid is quantitatively discharged from the reaction liquid discharge passage. Can be made. In addition, by adjusting the size of the cross section of the gas supply path using the adjusting mechanism, it is possible to adjust the desired pressure to act on the reaction liquid, and to accurately adjust the discharge amount of the reaction liquid. It becomes possible. As a result, as described above, a large amount of compressed gas can be supplied to the reaction liquid storage unit at the start at the time of starting, but after that, when the reaction liquid is sent from the reaction liquid storage unit to the hydrogen generation unit, the amount is small. Even if it is, it can provide the hydrogen generator which can be sent out quantitatively.
In the present invention, the opening / closing mechanism preferably includes holding means for holding the open state and the closed state, respectively.
By providing such a holding means, it is possible to improve the ease of operation of the opening / closing mechanism.
An adjustment mechanism according to the present invention includes a hole having a circular cross section that constitutes a part of a gas supply path, and a conical part that is movable in the insertion direction with respect to the hole, and the hole and the conical part. It is preferable to adjust the size of the gap formed between the two.
As a mechanism for adjusting the size of the flow path in the gas supply path, a mechanism that adjusts by a hole having a circular cross section and a conical part inserted into the hole is preferable. When a conical part is inserted into the hole, a ring-shaped slit is formed between them, and the size of the slit can be adjusted by the insertion position of the conical part. Since the size of the flow path can be adjusted at the insertion position of the conical portion, it can be realized by a simple mechanism.
The adjusting mechanism according to the present invention includes: the conical portion; a hollow cylindrical portion formed integrally with the conical portion; a gas flow path leading from the conical slope of the conical portion to the inside of the hollow cylindrical portion; It is preferable to include an adjusting screw portion formed on the outer surface.
As a more specific adjustment mechanism, a member in which the conical portion and the hollow cylindrical portion are integrated is provided, and a gas flow path that leads from the conical slope of the conical portion to the inside of the hollow cylindrical portion is formed. The compressed gas that enters through the slit formed between the hole and the cone enters the gas flow path and is sent into the hollow cylindrical portion. The compressed gas is supplied into the liquid storage portion via the hollow cylindrical portion. An adjustment screw portion is formed on the outer surface of the hollow cylindrical portion. By providing a screw portion that is screwed with the adjustment screw portion, the hollow cylindrical portion can be rotated to move the conical portion. This makes it possible to adjust the insertion position of the conical portion with respect to the hole. According to the above configuration, the adjustment mechanism can be realized with a simple configuration.

<Adjustment mechanism>
Next, the adjustment mechanism C will be described in more detail with reference to FIG. When compressed air is applied, it is necessary to appropriately perform the flow rate of air supplied from the
By rotating the
In addition, the adjustment method of a flow path is not limited above. For example, the following method is also conceivable. First, the
The above adjustment can be performed in the assembly process of the hydrogen generator, and once the adjustment is completed by the
<Opening and closing mechanism>
Next, the opening / closing mechanism will be described in more detail with reference to FIG. The switching
That is, the operating
When the hydrogen generator is not used, the closed state is maintained by operating the
<Draining water when starting the hydrogen generator>
The discharge of water to the hydrogen generator will be described in more detail. The size of the channel inlet of the gas supply path formed by the gap between the
The shape and size of the gas supply path formed by each container and the gas supply path forming part B can be determined as appropriate based on the purpose of use and specifications. In the present embodiment, the volumes of the
0.6×X+0.1×Y=0.11×(X+Y+0.07)
0.6 × X + 0.1 × Y = 0.11 × (X + Y + 0.07)
Using this equation, when the total volume Y is determined, when the total volume X is determined, the total volume Xcm 3 is used to supply 0.07 cc of the reaction liquid when starting the hydrogen generator. be able to. Further, the Zcc reaction solution can be supplied in the same manner according to the following equation.
0.6×X+0.1×Y=0.11×(X+Y+Z)
つまり、P1×V1+P2×V2=P3×V3(P1〜P3:各部の圧力、V1〜V2:各部の体積、V3:全体の体積+反応液の供給量)の関係式を利用して、X、Y、Zを適宜調整することができる。
0.6 × X + 0.1 × Y = 0.11 × (X + Y + Z)
That is, using a relational expression of P1 × V1 + P2 × V2 = P3 × V3 (P1 to P3: pressure of each part, V1 to V2: volume of each part, V3: total volume + reaction liquid supply amount), X, Y and Z can be adjusted as appropriate.

When the hydrogen generator is started, a large amount of compressed air is supplied to the
