Description

The present invention relates to an electric round connector used for a machine tool or the like, and more particularly to a ground structure of a contact and a shell.

In the electrical circular connector 1, it is necessary to ground between the contact 24 and the shell 28 in order to connect the protection circuit, and a separate ground lug 60 is generally used for grounding. Hereinafter, the structure of the conventional ground lug 60 and the ground structure using the ground lug 60 will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 4 is a perspective view of a conventional earth lug. First, the structure of the conventional earth lug 60 will be described. The conventional earth lug 60 has a substantially cylindrical shape as shown in FIG. 4, and the contact 24 is mounted inside the cylindrical shape. The ground lug 60 is provided with at least one or more contact pieces 12 curved in a cylindrical shape so as to come into contact with the contact 24. Considering the stable contact with the contact 24, about two are preferable. In addition, the ground lug 60 is provided with a contact portion 62 that protrudes outward in a position where it can come into contact with the shell 28 when it is attached to the insulator 22 in order to come into contact with the shell 28. The earth lug 60 is made of metal and is manufactured by a known press process. First, the material of the plate-like piece is drawn into a predetermined shape, and then the contact piece 12 and the contact portion 62 are bent or cut and raised. It is made into a cylindrical shape by repeating the bending process several times after that.

Next, a ground structure using the ground lug 60 will be described. As described above, the ground lug 60 and the contact 24 are configured to contact the contact piece 12 of the ground lug 60 when the contact 24 is attached to the ground lug 60. The contact structure between the ground lug 60 and the shell 28 is such that when the ground lug 60 is inserted into the insulator 22, the contact portion 62 of the ground lug protruding outwardly contacts the shell 28. The contact structure between the contact 24 and the shell 28 is achieved by attaching the contact 24 to a ground lug 60 inserted into the insulator 22.

In order to improve the environmental resistance, the surface of the shell 28 is generally subjected to a chromate treatment in this field. For this reason, in the conventional contact structure between the earth lug 60 and the shell 28, it is necessary to remove the surface treatment of the shell 28 at a position in contact with the contact portion 62 of the earth lug 60 in advance. There was a problem to be solved that said it was difficult to understand the correct position. In addition, if the position for removing the surface treatment is mistaken, grounding cannot be performed.

The present invention has been made in view of such conventional problems, and an electric circle that can obtain a stable grounding structure of the earth lug 10 and the shell 28 without removing the surface treatment of the shell 28 in advance. The connector 1 is intended to be provided.

The purpose is to provide a required number of contacts 24, an insulator 22 that holds and fixes the contacts 24, a shell 28 that is arranged to cover the insulator 22, and a structure that contacts the shell 28 and one contact 24. In the electric circular connector 1 comprising the earth lug 10, the earth lug 10 has a contact means (fixing means) with one contact 24, and an elastic piece 14 having elasticity bent in the direction of the shell 28. Can be achieved. As the contact means (fixing means), the ground lug 10 is formed into a substantially cylindrical shape having elasticity so as to cover one contact 24. By making it cylindrical like this, the ground lug 10 can be easily attached to and brought into contact with the contact 24. Further, it is preferable to provide at least one or more corners 18 and 20 on the free end side of the elastic piece 14 and at least one or more bent portions 16 in the vicinity of the free end side. Thus, by providing the corner portions 18 and 20 and the bent portion 16, the surface treatment of the shell 28 can be surely removed (scraped). At the same time that the earth lug 10 is mounted on the insulator 22, the surface treatment of the shell 28 is removed at the corners 18, 20. Using the earth lug 10, the contact 24, the shell 28, To be able to take the earth structure. The initial angle of the elastic piece 14 is 17 to 22 °, and the angle from the bent portion 16 is 40 to 65 °. That is, the angle from the bent portion 16 is increased by 18 to 48 degrees. In this way, the surface treatment of the shell 28 can be surely removed. If the angle from the bent portion 16 is 18 ° or less, it cannot be scraped simply by falling inward, and if it is 48 ° or more, the earth lug 10 cannot be inserted.

When the earth lug 10 attached to the contact 24 is inserted into the insulator 22, the corners 18 and 20 of the earth lug 10 are pressed against the shell 28 and inserted while scraping the surface treatment of the shell 28.

As is clear from the above description, according to the electrical circular connector 1 according to the present invention, the following excellent effects can be obtained.
(1) Since the ground lug 10 is provided with the elastic piece 14 having elasticity bent in the direction of the shell 28, the ground lug 10 inserted in the insulator 22 can be easily contacted when inserted into the shell 28. .
(2) Since the ground lug 10 has a substantially cylindrical shape having elasticity so as to cover one contact 24, the contact 24 can be easily attached to and contacted with the ground lug 10.
(3) Since at least one or more corners 18 and 20 are provided on the free end side of the elastic piece 14 and at least one or more bent portions 16 are provided near the free end side. The surface treatment of the shell 28 can be removed (scraped), and a stable ground structure can be obtained.
(4) At the same time that the earth lug 10 is mounted on the insulator 22, the surface treatment of the shell 28 is removed at the corner portions 18, 20, and the single contact 24 and the shell 28 are removed using the earth lug 10. The ground structure can be easily obtained without removing the surface treatment in advance.

The electrical circular connector 1 of the present invention will be described based on the drawings. FIG. 1A is a perspective view of the ground lug of the present invention viewed from the contact mounting direction, and FIG. 1B is a perspective view of the ground lug of the present invention viewed from the opposite side of the contact mounting direction. FIG. 2A is a plan view of an electrical circular connector using the ground lug of the present invention, and FIG. 2B is a cross-sectional side view of the electrical circular connector using the ground lug of the present invention. FIG. 3 is an enlarged plan view of a portion where the earth lug of the present invention is inserted. The electrical circular connector 1 mainly includes a contact 24, an insulator 22, a shell 28, and a ground lug 10.

First, the earth lug 10 which is the point part of this invention is demonstrated. The earth lug 10 is made of metal as in the prior art, and is manufactured by a known press process. The material is required to have a spring property, and examples thereof include brass, phosphor bronze, and beryllium copper. The role of the ground lug 10 is for grounding the contact 24 and the shell 28. The shape of the earth lug 10 is substantially cylindrical in this embodiment, but may be any shape as long as the above role can be satisfied. Although not shown, for example, a box shape or an ellipse may be used.

As a contact means (fixing means) for contact with the contact 24, the ground lug 10 has a cylindrical interior for contacting the contact 24 when the contact 24 is mounted inside the cylindrical interior as in the prior art. At least one or more contact pieces 12 that are curved are provided. Considering stable contact with the contact 24, about two contact pieces 12 are preferable. The cylindrical internal shape is a shape along the outer shape of the contact 24. Further, the ground lug 10 is provided with an elastic piece 14 having elasticity bent in the direction of the shell 28. The elastic piece 14 is a portion in contact with the inner side surface of the shell 28. At least one or more corners 18 and 20 are provided on the free end side of the elastic piece 14 so as to be in contact with each other, and at least one bent portion 16 is provided in the vicinity of the free end side. The shape of the earth lug 10 before the insulator 22 is inserted is as shown in FIG. 1, and the elastic piece 14 is somewhat opened outward. By opening it somewhat, pressure is applied when the shell 28 is attached.

In the present embodiment, the bent portion 16 is provided at one place, and is further opened outward from the vicinity of the central portion. That is, the bending angle of the elastic piece 14 is changed from the vicinity of the central portion. In this embodiment, the initial angle is 17 to 22 °, and the angle from the bent portion 16 is 40 to 65 °. By increasing the angle from the bent portion 16 by 18 to 48 °, the surface treatment of the shell 28 can be surely removed. If the angle from the bent portion 16 is 18 ° or less, it cannot be scraped simply by falling inward, and if it is 48 ° or more, the earth lug 10 cannot be inserted. In the present embodiment, the corner portions 18 and 20 are provided at two locations (corner portion A 18 and corner portion B 20) on the free end side of the elastic piece 14, and actually the corner portions 18 and 20 are provided in the ground lug 10. This is a part for scraping off the surface treatment of the inner wall portion of the shell 28 when the shell 28 is attached to the shell 28. If the surface treatment of the shell 28 can be scraped off, one location is sufficient, but the reliability is improved in consideration of the wear of the corners 18 and 20 when the strength of the shell 28 and the strength of the earth lug 10 are considered. For this reason, it was made two places. The dimensional relationship between the protrusions of the corner A18 and the corner B20 is substantially the same. First, the surface treatment of the shell 28 is shaved at the corner B20, and the surface of the shell 28 is worn by the corner B20. This is because the surface treatment is immediately cut at the corner A18 when the treatment cannot be cut. As described above, by providing both the corner portions 18 and 20 and the bent portion 16, the surface treatment of the shell 28 can be surely removed (scraped). The angle from the angle and the protruding amount of the corner portions 18 and 20 are appropriately designed in consideration of the above role. The ground lug 10 is obtained by first extracting the material of the plate-shaped piece into a predetermined shape, then forming the contact piece 12 and the bent portion 16 by bending or the like, and then repeating the bending process a plurality of times. Thus, the elastic piece 14 is formed in a cylindrical shape.

Here, the ground structure between the contact 24 and the shell 28 will be described. First, the ground lug 10 is fixed to the insulator 22 by press fitting or the like, and the insulator 22 into which the ground lug 10 is inserted is attached to the shell 28. At this time, the ground lug 10 and the shell 28 are in contact with each other by cutting the surface treatment of the shell 28 at the corners 18 and 20 of the ground lug 10. Further, when the contact 24 is attached to the ground lug 10 in this state, the contact piece 12 of the ground lug 10 and the contact 24 come into contact with each other. That is, the contact 24 and the shell 28 are in contact with each other via the ground lug 10 and are grounded.

このインシュレータ22は電気絶縁性のプラスチックであり、公知技術の射出成形等により製作され、材質としては寸法安定性やコストや絶縁性・難燃性等が要求されるのでPBT(ポリブチレンテレフタレート)やPET(ポリエチレンテレフタレート)やPPS(ポリフェニレンサルファイド)やLCP(液晶ポリマー)等を挙げることができる。 Next, the insulator 22 will be described. The insulator 22 is an electrically insulating plastic, and is manufactured by a known technique such as injection molding. Since the material is required to have dimensional stability, cost, insulation, flame retardancy, etc., PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) or Examples thereof include PET (polyethylene terephthalate), PPS (polyphenylene sulfide), and LCP (liquid crystal polymer). The insulator 22 is provided with an insertion hole into which a required number of contacts 24 are inserted. The required number of the insertion holes is an insertion hole in which the ground lug 10 can be inserted.

Next, the contact 24 will be described. Since the contact 24 is made of metal and is manufactured by a known press working, and the material is required to be conductive or springy, examples thereof include brass, phosphor bronze, and beryllium copper. The contact 24 includes a contact portion that contacts the mating connector, a fixed portion that is fixed to the insulator 22, and a connection portion that is connected to the cable. When the contact 24 is attached to the ground lug 10, the contact piece 12 of the ground lug 10 contacts the outermost diameter portion of the contact 24.

Finally, the shell 28 will be described. The shell 28 is made of metal and is manufactured by a known technique such as casting, and examples of the material include zinc die cast and aluminum die cast in consideration of strength, cost, workability, and the like. The shell 28 is provided with a fitting hole into which the insulator 22 is inserted, and is fixed by a retaining ring for fixing. The shell 28 is provided with a flange portion 28 for attachment to a housing or the like. In this embodiment, the flange portion 28 is provided with a screw attachment hole.
