Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a pulse compression radar apparatus, and more particularly to a pulse compression radar apparatus using a pseudo-random code for pulse compression and a phase modulation method for the pulse compression radar apparatus.
In pulse compression using a binary code in a pulse compression radar system, a Barker code is generated when the compression ratio (bit length of the code) is 13 or less, and pseudo random binary numbers are generated mainly by an M-sequence code generation algorithm. In general, the transmission pulse is subjected to two-phase modulation based on the binary code. In the M-sequence code generation logic, a shift register is used, and the number of register stages (n) is obtained according to the required bit length of the code.
FIG. 8 is a diagram showing an M-sequence code generation circuit using a shift register. As shown in FIG. 4A, the shift register is an example of a configuration having four stages (four bits). The shift register, the output b of the last stage of the shift register, and the output a of the preceding stage are input, and the output c is input. A Mod2Adder (modulo-2 adder) that feeds back to the input stage. Mod2Adder has the input / output relationship shown in the truth table shown in FIG. Since the output c for the inputs a and b of Mod2Adder is a binary modulo-2 addition, it is equivalent to the truth table of an EX-OR (exclusive OR) circuit. The numbers “1” and “0” shown in the register corresponding to each bit of the shift register indicate initial values before the code is generated, and 15 bits are obtained by shifting the code of each stage with this circuit configuration. A unique pseudo-random binary code is obtained.
FIG. 9 is a diagram showing a two-phase phase modulation waveform by a binary code generated by the M-sequence code generation circuit shown in FIG. The 15-bit M-sequence code generated when the M-sequence code generation circuit has an initial value = 1 [1000] (the left end is LSB) is “000100110101111”, and this code modulates the transmission signal by two-phase phase modulation. A waveform (from the third bit) is shown. In the M-sequence code generation circuit having this configuration, the initial value can be set to any number in the range of 1 [1000] to 15 [1111], and a unique code can be generated with each initial value. , There are no more than 15 types of codes.
As described above, a code sequence for performing pseudo-random phase modulation on a transmission signal in a conventional pulse compression radar apparatus is a binary code. Is being used. In the M-sequence code generation logic, a shift register is used, the relationship between the bit length N of the code and the number of register stages n is N = (2 n −1), and the generated code is the initial value of the shift register. Although it is a specific code that is determined, it is not possible to generate more than (2 n −1) types of unique code from the n-stage registers.
Therefore, there is a limit to the types of binary code codes that can be used in the M-sequence code generation logic. Therefore, when a pulse compression radar apparatus that performs two-phase phase modulation with binary codes is configured, it is easy to intercept signals by outsiders. There is a problem that it is possible to synthesize the radar information for compressing the signal or the interference wave of the radar by decoding the code.
An object of the present invention is to solve the above-described problems, and to provide a pulse compression radar apparatus that can use more specific codes of different types of codes.
An object of the present invention is to provide a pulse compression radar device that makes it difficult to decode a code due to signal interception by an outsider and prevents the leakage of radar information for compressing the signal or the synthesis of radar jamming waves and the like. There is to do.
The pulse compression radar apparatus of the present invention is a pulse compression radar apparatus that modulates the phase of a transmission signal with a pseudo-random code, and has different m (m ≧ 2) types of M-sequence codes with the same code length by the same generator polynomial or the like. Code signal generating means (for example, 41 and 42 in FIG. 2) for combining each bit of different M-sequence codes to generate a multi-random pseudo-random code, and a transmission signal based on the generated multi-random pseudo-random code Phase modulation means (for example, 6 in FIG. 1 and FIG. 3), and the code signal generation means generates m M-sequence code generation circuits for generating m different M-sequence codes. (For example, 41 in FIG. 2), and multi-code generation means (for example, 42 in FIG. 2) for generating a multi-random pseudo-random code by combining each bit of the different m kinds of M-sequence codes, Serial m-number of M-sequence code generation circuit and generates the m kinds of M-sequence code by setting different initial values. Further, the present invention is characterized in that a correlation filter matched with the multi-quadrature pseudo-random code that receives a reflection signal from the transmission signal and inputs a phase detection output of multi-phase modulation is provided. In particular, the M-sequence code is two types of M-sequence codes, and the phase modulation means uses a quaternary pseudo-random code of 0, π / 4, π / 2, 3π / 4 with the phase of the transmission signal as 0 phase. It is characterized by four-phase phase modulation.
The phase modulation method of the pulse compression radar apparatus of the present invention is a phase modulation method of a pulse compression radar apparatus that modulates the phase of a transmission signal with a pseudo-random code, and is different in m (m ≧ 2) types with the same code length. Generating a sequence code, generating a multi-pseudo pseudo-random code by combining each bit of a different M-sequence code, and phase-modulating the transmission signal in multiple phases by the multi-pseudo pseudo-random code, Different m types of M-sequence codes are generated by m M-sequence code generation circuits having different initial values. The reflected signal of the transmission signal may be subjected to pulse compression by a correlation filter matched with the multi-quadrature pseudo-random code that inputs a phase detection output of phase modulation in multiple phases. In particular, the M-sequence code is two types of M-sequence codes, and the phase modulation is a quaternary pseudo-random code with the phase of the transmission signal as 0 phase, 0, π / 4, π / 2, 3π / 4, 4 It is characterized by phase modulation of the phase.
Specifically, the present invention relates to a pulse compression radar apparatus that performs phase modulation using a binary code generated by generation of an M-sequence code, and (1) generates two or more different M-sequence codes with the same code length, These are combined to obtain a multi-ary pseudo-random code (composite M-sequence code). (2) Using this code, the transmission signal is phase-modulated with a phase angle exceeding two values. (3) On the reception side, pulse compression is realized by using a correlation filter matched to the composite M-sequence code on the transmission side.
The phase modulation of the transmission pulse of a pulse compression radar apparatus using a binary code that has been generally used in the past uses a random code obtained depending on only a single initial value, and the code of the segment in the code is In the case of “1”, the phase shift amount given to the carrier wave of the transmission signal is 0 degree (in phase), and in the case of “0”, the binary phase modulation is made such that the phase shift amount given to the carrier wave is 180 degrees (reverse phase). .
In the present invention, a plurality of unique codes are generated by giving a plurality of initial values to the shift register function of the M-sequence code generation logic. Furthermore, a unique multi-bit pseudo-random code is synthesized from these unique codes, and multi-level phase modulation is performed with this code, thereby performing pulse spreading and pulse compression. Since there are as many types of multi-bit pseudo-random codes as the number of combinations of the above-mentioned multiple initial values, there are a large number of types compared to the types of random codes obtained by relying on only a single initial value. The unique code can be used.
According to the present invention, two or more different M-sequence codes having the same code length are generated by setting a plurality of initial values, for example, and a multi-adic pseudo-random code is generated by a combination of each bit to generate a pulse compression radar. Since multiphase phase modulation is performed on the transmission signal of the apparatus, a large number of unique codes can be used for pulse spreading and compression compared to the use of a single binary code.
In addition, the use of multi-quadrature pseudo-random codes complicates the parameters of the matched filter used for pulse compression, improving the confidentiality of the pulse compression radar device, leaking radar information that compresses the signal, or interfering radio waves from the radar, etc. Can be prevented.
For example, in the case of a conventional modulation system that performs 15-to-1 pulse compression, there are only 15 types of code, and outsiders who do not know the code can try pulse compression with 15 types of code. If the modulation according to the present invention is performed, it is necessary to try with 15 kinds of codes of 15 × 14, and the analysis becomes extremely difficult. In the present invention, the compression ratio is also 128 times or 256 times, and the difference becomes extremely large, and the effect is remarkable.

The M-sequence code generation circuit 41 has a two-system circuit configuration using four-stage (4-bit) shift registers A and B as the M-sequence generation logic. In this embodiment, each shift register A and B is connected in a dependent manner. EX-OR (D-type flip-flop function), the output b of the last stage of each shift register A, B and the output a of the preceding stage, etc., and the output c fed back to the input stage It is composed of Mod2Adder (modulo-2 adder) that can be composed of an exclusive OR circuit.

A 15-bit unique pseudo-random binary code can be obtained by shifting the signal of each stage of the shift register by the clock signal with the same M-sequence code generation logic.

FIG. 6 is a diagram showing signal waveforms of two codes-1, 2 and I and Q signals. The signal waveform (I, Q signal) after conversion of the quaternary code is a bipolar signal including 0 level. The
Next, the operation of the matched

(Other embodiments)
In the above embodiments, a quaternary pseudo-random code is used for pulse spreading and compression, and the phase modulation format is 0 degrees, 90 degrees, 180 degrees, or 270
Further, the multi-pseudo pseudo-random code of the above embodiment can be different m types (m ≧ 2) of M-sequence codes. In this case, the code
Although the configuration and operation of the above embodiment have been described in an analog manner, it is obvious that the generation of the modulation output to be transmitted and the processing of the received signal can actually be performed by digital processing. That is, the main circuit blocks 1 to 6 and 8 to 11 shown in FIG. 1 can be realized by digital processing. For example, carrier generation can be generated by reading waveform data (sin, cos data) stored in a memory, and the
