Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an image reading apparatus and a method thereof.
By the way, in general, in the image reading apparatus, the charges from the reading sensors of a plurality of colors are, for example, the leading image sensor of the R reading sensor, the leading image sensor of the G reading sensor, the leading image sensor of the B reading sensor, and R The second imaging element of the reading sensor, the second imaging element of the G reading sensor,..., And the order of the predetermined reading sensors and the order of the predetermined imaging elements included in the reading sensors (hereinafter, , Sometimes referred to as dot sequential). The image reading apparatus described in

In this image reading apparatus, when the object to be read is a suppressed document, the suppressed document accumulation time in which at least one of the charge accumulation times of the first element array, the second element array, and the third element array is different. And when the image charge accumulated in the first element row is read from the first element row based on the set suppression document accumulation time, the second and third element rows are used for the image. When the image charge stored in the second element array is read from the second element array, the third element array stores the image charge and then the image stored in the third element array. Control is performed so as to read out the electric charge from the third element array. In this way, since the charge accumulation time for the images in the first element array, the second element array, and the third element array are set to different values, the charge appropriate for each element array is accumulated to improve the read image quality. The decrease can be suppressed. In addition, since the readout start timing of the image charge accumulated in each element row is different, it is possible to suppress subsequent processing from being overlapped with the readout charge, so that the load of the image read processing is smoothed. be able to. Here, the “suppressed original” may be, for example, a negative transparent original.

Alternatively, the image reading apparatus of the present invention is
A first element array having a plurality of first photoelectric conversion elements for photoelectric conversion and storing charges and a second element array having a plurality of second photoelectric conversion elements for photoelectric conversion and storing charges are photoelectrically converted to store charges. Reading means comprising one or more third element arrays each having a plurality of three photoelectric conversion elements;
When the reading target is a suppressed document in which the transmission of a specific color is suppressed, at least one of the charge accumulation times of the first element row, the second element row, and the third element row is set to a different time. Setting means for setting the accumulation time for a suppressed document to the accumulation time;
The line charge is used to read the accumulated charge for each element row when the reading target is the suppressed document, and the image charge is read in order from the element row having the shortest restrained document accumulation time. Control means for controlling the reading means;
It is good also as a thing provided.
In this image reading apparatus, when the object to be read is a suppressed document, the suppressed document accumulation time in which at least one of the charge accumulation times of the first element array, the second element array, and the third element array is different. Is set to the accumulation time, and when the object to be read is a suppressed document, line charges are used to read out the accumulated charge for each element row, and the charge for the image is sequentially applied from the element row having the shorter suppressed document accumulation time. Control to read. In this way, since the charge accumulation time for the images in the first element array, the second element array, and the third element array are set to different values, the charge appropriate for each element array is accumulated to improve the read image quality. The decrease can be suppressed. Further, in this line-sequential, since the charge is read for each element column, the read start timing of each element column is different. In this way, since it is possible to prevent subsequent processing on the read charges from overlapping, it is possible to smooth the load of image reading processing.
In the image reading apparatus according to the aspect of the invention, when the reading target is the suppressed document, the control unit accumulates image charges in the first element row, the second element row, and the third element row at the same timing. The reading means may be controlled to start. This makes it easier to start accumulating charges for images.
In the image reading apparatus according to the aspect of the invention, the control unit may cause the reading so that the third element row having the longest accumulation time among the element rows always accumulates charge for an image when the reading target is the suppressed document. The means may be controlled. In this way, no time is wasted and the time required for the image reading process can be shortened.
The image reading apparatus according to the present invention further includes a determining unit that determines whether or not a reading target is the suppression document, and the setting unit determines that the reading target is not the suppression document by the determination unit. The charge accumulation times of the first element row, the second element row, and the third element row are set to normal accumulation times that are the same time, respectively, and the reading object is the suppressed document by the determination unit. When it is determined, the accumulation time may be set to the suppressed document accumulation time, and the control means may control the reading means based on the set accumulation time. By so doing, reading is performed by switching the charge accumulation time depending on whether the reading object is a suppressed document or a suppressed document, so that each reading object can be read appropriately. At this time, when the determination unit determines that the reading target is not the suppressed document, the control unit includes a photoelectric conversion element included in the first element row, a photoelectric conversion element included in the second element row, Accumulated based on the set normal accumulation time using a dot sequence for reading out the accumulated charges in the order of photoelectric conversion elements included in the third element array and in the order of each photoelectric conversion element included in each element array The reading unit may be controlled so as to read the charge for an image. When the reading target is not a suppressed document, it is preferable to read out the charges in a dot-sequential manner from the viewpoint of preventing misalignment between the images generated based on the charges read from the element rows. At this time, the control means accumulates electric charges in the first element row, the second element row, and the third element row at the same timing when the determination means determines that the reading target is not the suppressed document. A reference for reading a predetermined white reference before the reading process of the reading object by controlling the reading means to read the accumulated charge from the first element row, the second element row, and the third element row at the same timing. When the determination unit determines that the reading target is the suppressed document, the reference processing charge accumulated in the first element row is read from the first element row. When the two-element array accumulates the charge for reference processing and the reference-process charge stored in the second element array is read from the second element array, the third element array is By processing the reading means to store processing charges and then reading the reference processing charges stored in the third element row from the third element row, a predetermined value is set before the reading process of the reading target. A reference process for reading the white reference may be executed. In this way, since the reference process for reading the white reference is executed at the same timing as when reading the reading object, the process is simple and the reference process can be more accurately reflected in the reading process of the reading object.
In the image reading apparatus according to the aspect of the invention, the control unit may include the second element array second than the difference time which is a difference between the maximum accumulation time set by the setting unit and the accumulation time next to the maximum accumulation time. The reading unit may be controlled with a long total reading time, which is a time for reading all charges accumulated in the element row and the third element row. As described above, when the total read time is longer than the difference time, it is necessary to separately perform the charge accumulation process and the read process for reading the accumulated charges of all the element columns, and the read process may take time. In the present invention, the time required for the image reading process can be further shortened by making the reading start timings different.

The
The
The
As shown in FIG. 2, the
In this
Next, the operation of the
Next, the
Next, the
On the other hand, when the read original is a negative transparent original in step S100, the
Next, the
The processing in steps S200 and S220 will be described with reference to FIG. In the main reading of a negative transparent original, first, the
Here, the reason why the negative transparent original is read line-sequentially will be described. FIG. 7 is a timing chart of the reading timing of the negative transmission original by dot sequential. As shown in FIG. 7, the accumulation times of the
Here, the correspondence between the components of the present embodiment and the components of the present invention will be clarified. The photodiodes 41a in the present embodiment correspond to the first photoelectric conversion elements of the present invention, the

Since the
It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and it goes without saying that the present invention can be implemented in various modes as long as it belongs to the technical scope of the present invention.
For example, in the above-described embodiment, in the case of a negative transmission original in which the transmission of green and blue light is suppressed, the transmission is suppressed more than the accumulation time of the
In the above-described embodiment, it is determined whether or not the read original is a negative transparent original, and in the case of the negative, the
In the above-described embodiment, the shading setting process and the main reading process are performed using either dot sequential or line sequential, but either may be performed.
In the above-described embodiment, the normal accumulation times of the
In the above-described embodiment, the three types of element rows including the
In the embodiment described above. Although the total reading time tr is longer than the difference time td, the total reading time tr may be shorter than the difference time td. Even in this case, since the read start timing of the charge for the read image accumulated in each element row is different, it is possible to suppress subsequent processing from being overlapped with the read charge, so that the load of the image read processing is smoothed. Can be achieved.
In the embodiment described above, the
In the above-described embodiment, the
In the above-described embodiment, when the read original is a negative transparent original, the charge accumulation start timing is set to the same timing in all the element rows (see times t11 and t14 in FIG. 6). You can shift it.
