Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a wire saw and a method for reusing a slurry using the same, and more particularly to a wire saw for accurately slicing a silicon ingot and a method for reusing a slurry using the same.
The prior art related to the present invention is a slurry containing abrasive grains used when slicing a silicon ingot using a wire saw, and the average grain size R (μm) of the abrasive grains is determined as follows. A slurry that satisfies the formula X-10 ≦ R ≦ X + 10 with respect to the average distance X (μm) to the ingot cutting surface, and the mass ratio of the abrasive grains to the liquid component of the slurry is 0.25 to 1.0 Is known (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
Further, it is a method for recovering silicon powder from waste slurry used when slicing a silicon ingot using a wire saw, the solid content is recovered from the waste slurry by solid-liquid separation treatment, and the obtained solid content Is washed with an organic solvent to remove the dispersant contained in the solid content, the solid content from which the dispersant has been removed is further washed with an acid solution, and the metal generated from the silicon oxide and the wire generated by the heat at the time of slicing A method for recovering silicon powder is known in which powder is dissolved and removed, and the solid content from which silicon oxide and metal powder have been removed is pulverized, and then separated into abrasive grains and silicon powder by airflow classification (for example, Patent Document 2). reference).
A wire saw is used as an apparatus for slicing a silicon ingot to obtain a wafer.
The wire saw rotates the wire with a driving roller or the like, and wraps the ingot by pressing the silicon ingot while supplying slurry containing abrasive grains to the rotationally driven wire (at the contact point between the wire and the ingot). This is a device for slicing into a thin plate shape by the rolling or scratching action of abrasive grains contained in the infiltrated slurry.
Usually, in such a wire saw, the slurry that has flowed down from the wire is collected in a receiving tray, returned to the slurry circulation path, and reused.
However, as it is reused, ingot cutting waste mixes with the slurry and the viscosity of the slurry gradually increases. As the viscosity of the slurry increases, the load on the pump in the slurry circulation path increases, resulting in fluctuations in the amount of slurry supplied to the wire.
Variations in the slurry supply amount lead to deterioration in processing accuracy, specifically, generation of saw marks (wire rubbing traces appearing on the surface of a sliced wafer), variations in wafer thickness, and the like.
For this reason, in the conventional wire saw, a predetermined viscosity range is maintained by replenishing the circulation path with a new slurry while appropriately discharging a part of the slurry used while being circulated.
However, such a technique is only a temporary measure to keep the supply amount of slurry within a certain allowable range, and is possible for improving the processing accuracy by exerting the desired cutting performance on the slurry. It is desirable to use a slurry in which cutting waste is not mixed as much as possible.
In order to use a slurry in which cutting waste is not mixed, it is easiest to circulate the slurry and make it disposable without being reused, and always supply a new slurry.
However, such a technique is not very practical because the cost required for slicing a silicon ingot increases remarkably if a new slurry is always supplied.
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and provides a wire saw that improves machining accuracy by preventing mixing of cutting waste into a slurry that is circulated and reused as much as possible. is there.
The present invention includes a wire driving unit that rotationally drives a wire, a slurry supply unit that supplies slurry containing abrasive grains to the wire, and an ingot pressing unit that presses a silicon ingot against a predetermined portion of the wire to slice the ingot. The slurry supply unit includes a slurry circulation path for supplying slurry to the wire, a first tray that is disposed in a lower region of the silicon ingot and selectively receives the slurry that flows down including the cutting waste, and a wire driving region. A second tray that is disposed below and receives the slurry flowing down from the wire, and the second tray is connected to the slurry circulation path to form a part of the circulation path, and the slurry received by the first tray is A wire saw that is removed from the circulation path without being returned to the slurry circulation path.

The contained slurry is selectively received by the first tray, and the other slurry is received by the second tray.
As a result, only the slurry containing a large amount of cutting waste can be removed from the slurry circulation path, and it is possible to prevent the cutting waste from being mixed into the slurry to be used by circulation and to improve the processing accuracy as much as possible. become able to.
A wire saw according to the present invention includes a wire driving unit that rotationally drives a wire, a slurry supply unit that supplies slurry containing abrasive grains to the wire, and an ingot pressing unit that presses a silicon ingot against a predetermined portion of the wire to slice the ingot A slurry supply path for supplying the slurry to the wire, a first tray for selectively receiving the slurry that is disposed in the lower region of the silicon ingot and that includes the cutting waste, and the drive of the wire And a second saucer that is disposed below the region and receives slurry flowing down from the wire, and the second saucer is connected to the slurry circulation path to form a part of the circulation path, and is received by the first saucer.

As the metal wire, for example, a steel wire or piano wire having a diameter of about 0.1 to 0.3 mm is used.
The wire driving unit means a unit configured to rotationally drive the wire, and the configuration is not particularly limited. For example, a new line bobbin around which an unused wire is wound, a new line bobbin And a plurality of driving rollers that stretch and wind the wire fed from, a driving motor that drives the driving roller, and a winding bobbin that winds the used wire that has come off the driving roller. it can. The wire may be stretched several times at equal intervals on the drive roller so as to constitute a multi-wire saw.
As the slurry, those commercially available for cutting silicon ingots can be used, and are not particularly limited. For example, a slurry in which abrasive grains are dispersed in a water-soluble or oil-based dispersant is used. Can do.

As the abrasive grains, for example, silicon carbide, cerium oxide, diamond, boron nitride, aluminum oxide, zirconium oxide, silicon dioxide or the like having a particle size of about 10 to 30 μm can be used.
The slurry supply unit means one configured to supply slurry to the wire. In the wire saw according to the present invention, the slurry circulation path, the first saucer disposed in the lower region of the silicon ingot, and the drive region of the wire It is comprised mainly from the 2nd saucer arrange | positioned under the said and connected with the said slurry circulation path.
The slurry circulation path is, for example, a slurry tank for storing slurry, an outward piping for guiding the slurry from the slurry tank to a predetermined position on the wire, a pump for sending the slurry from the slurry tank to the outward piping, and a wire provided at the tip of the outward piping. A slurry nozzle for pouring the slurry, a return pipe connecting the second tray and the slurry tank can be used.
The lower region of the silicon ingot means a limited region immediately below the silicon ingot that can selectively receive slurry containing a large amount of cutting waste generated from the silicon ingot.
On the other hand, the lower portion of the wire drive region means a non-limiting wide region that covers the entire lower portion of the wire drive region and can receive all of the slurry flowing down from the rotationally driven wire.
The ingot pressing portion means a structure configured to hold the silicon ingot and press it against the wire, and the configuration is not particularly limited. For example, a holding plate that holds the silicon ingot, and a holding plate What is comprised from the raising / lowering mechanism which raises / lowers up and down can be mentioned.
The ingot pressing part may be configured to hold a plurality of silicon ingots adjacent to each other. In this case, the first trays may be arranged directly below the silicon ingot according to the number of silicon ingots.
The wire saw according to the present invention may further include a brush that scrapes the cutting scraps that are in contact with the wire and adhere to the wire on the downstream side of the portion where the wire and the silicon ingot are in contact with each other.
Similarly, the wire saw according to the present invention may further include a roller that abuts against the wire and scrapes the cutting waste adhering to the wire to the first saucer on the downstream side of the portion where the wire and the silicon ingot abut.
According to such a configuration, it is possible to prevent the cutting waste generated from the silicon ingot from being carried downstream in the wire driving direction while adhering to the wire, and to prevent the cutting waste from being mixed into the circulating slurry. It can be surely prevented.
In addition, when the ingot pressing portion is configured to hold a plurality of silicon ingots adjacent to each other, the cutting waste generated from the upstream silicon ingot remains attached to the wire while cutting the downstream silicon ingot. It can also be prevented from being carried to the part, leading to an improvement in machining accuracy.
The said structure further provided with a brush WHEREIN: The brush may be coat | covered with the abrasive grain at least the front-end | tip contact | abutted with a wire.
In the above-described configuration further including a roller, the roller may be coated with abrasive grains at least on the surface that contacts the wire.
According to such a configuration, not only the wear of the brush or roller is prevented, but also the surface of the brush or roller becomes rough, so that the cutting waste is easily entangled with the brush or roller, and the cutting waste is scraped off. Efficiency is also improved.
From another point of view, the present invention, after slicing a silicon ingot using the wire saw according to the present invention described above, recovers the slurry received in the first tray and recovers the cutting waste from the recovered slurry. It also provides usage.
According to such a method of reusing a slurry, a slurry containing a large amount of silicon cutting waste is selectively recovered, so that the operation of recovering the silicon waste from the waste slurry can be performed easily and efficiently.
In other words, in addition to silicon scraps generated from silicon ingots, used waste slurries usually contain impurities such as crushed abrasive grains, metal powder generated from wires, and silicon oxide generated by heat generated during cutting. In order to selectively recover only silicon scraps from the waste slurry, the above impurity components must be removed in addition to the dispersant and abrasive grains that are the base material constituting the slurry.
Therefore, in order to selectively recover only silicon scrap from the waste slurry, a low concentration of the impurity component in the waste slurry is desirable from the viewpoint of the efficiency of the impurity removal process, but the slurry is circulated. The higher the concentration, the higher the concentration of the impurity component.
Here, according to the method for reusing a slurry according to the present invention described above, since the slurry containing a low concentration of impurity components and containing a large amount of silicon cutting waste is selectively recovered, the silicon waste can be recovered efficiently. Can be done.

Here, the silicon scrap recovery process will be briefly described with reference to FIG. FIG. 4 is a process diagram illustrating a silicon scrap recovery process.
First, a solid-liquid separation process using a centrifugal separator or the like is performed on the waste slurry stored in the waste slurry tank, and the dispersant is roughly skipped to recover the solid content.
In addition to the dispersant, abrasive grains, and silicon scrap, the solid content contains crushed abrasive grains, metal powder generated from the wire, silicon oxide generated by heat during cutting, and the like as impurities. Impurities must be removed.
Therefore, the recovered solid content is first washed with an organic solvent, the dispersant contained in the solid content is dissolved in the organic solvent, and then the solid-liquid separation process is performed again to remove the organic solvent in which the dispersant is dissolved. Collect the solids.
Next, the collected solid content is washed with water, and the dispersant and the organic solvent remaining in the solid content are washed away, and then a solid-liquid separation process is performed again to collect the solid content.
Next, the collected solid content is washed with an acid solution (mixed solution of hydrofluoric acid and sulfuric acid), and silicon oxide (SiO 2 ) and metal powder contained in the solid content are dissolved in the acid solution, and then solidified again. A liquid separation process is performed and solid content is collect | recovered.
Thereafter, the collected solid content is washed with water and then dried. Since the dried solid content is agglomerated, it is pulverized by a pulverizer and then separated into abrasive grains and silicon scraps by an airflow classifier.
Silicon scrap is selectively recovered from the waste slurry by the above process.
In addition, since the waste slurry obtained in this embodiment is selectively recovered as waste slurry, the slurry containing a large amount of silicon waste is collected in the first tray placed immediately below the silicon ingot, and thus is discharged from the conventional multi-wire saw. The concentration of the impurities is considerably lower than the waste slurry.
For this reason, the efficiency of the said process required for the removal of an impurity is high, and silicon | silicone waste can be collect | recovered more efficiently than before.

When the slurry containing a large amount of silicon scrap is conveyed to the adjacent downstream silicon ingot cutting site, the silicon scrap impedes the rolling operation of the abrasive grains, which may cause a reduction in processing accuracy.
However, if the
Moreover, it becomes a structure advantageous also in preventing as much as possible that silicon waste mixes in the slurry collected in the
