Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an optical element manufacturing method, an optical element mold, and an optical element for manufacturing an optical element used for optical communication, for example.
For example, various lenses have been proposed as lenses used for optical communication and the like, and various manufacturing methods have been proposed (for example, see Patent Document 1).
In
In such a lens with a lens barrel, the lens positioned by the lens positioning step is joined to the lens barrel, but the relative positional relationship between the lens barrel and the lens is determined as one. Therefore, in order to comply with various specifications, a plurality of lens barrels having different positions of the lens positioning step portions are required, and it is difficult to realize cost reduction including the management cost.
Here, a configuration is also proposed in which the lens is fixed to a lens barrel having a flat inner peripheral surface that is not provided with a lens positioning step portion. In such a configuration, the lens barrel and the lens are sufficiently fixed. Therefore, it is necessary to fix the lens to the lens barrel using another member or the like, and it is difficult to realize cost reduction.
The present invention has been made to solve the technical problems as described above, and an object of the present invention is to provide an optical element manufacturing method capable of realizing cost reduction.
For this purpose, an optical element manufacturing method to which the present invention is applied is an optical element manufacturing method for manufacturing an optical element in which a lens is fixed to the inner peripheral surface of a cylindrical member having openings at both ends. Then, from one opening of the cylindrical member to be positioned, a lens material is pressure-molded with a surface having a shape smaller than the cross-sectional shape in the circumferential direction of the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical member. A first mold for transferring one surface enters, and at the time of pressure molding, the first mold extends from the other opening of the cylindrical member to the internal space of the cylindrical member, and the lens The lens and the cylindrical member are cooled in a state in which the outer peripheral surface of the lens is in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical member by pressure molding and received by a second mold that transfers the other surface. Is. The cooling in the present invention includes both artificial cooling and natural cooling.
Here, the second mold is configured to press-mold a lens material with a surface having a shape smaller than a cross-sectional shape in the circumferential direction of the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical member and transfer the other surface of the lens. Can be a feature. In addition, the first mold is formed by pressure-molding a lens material with a surface having a shape smaller than the cross-sectional shape in the circumferential direction of the inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical member, thereby projecting in the lens thickness direction. A protrusion is formed in a non-contact or partial contact with the first mold.
From another point of view, an optical element manufacturing method to which the present invention is applied is an optical element manufacturing method for manufacturing an optical element in which a lens is fixed to the inner peripheral surface of a cylindrical member having openings at both ends. Then, a first mold that press-molds a lens material and transfers one surface of the lens enters from one opening in the cylindrical member to be positioned, and the above-mentioned at the time of pressure molding In the first mold, a surface having a shape smaller than the cross-sectional shape in the circumferential direction of the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical member extends from the other opening of the cylindrical member to the internal space of the cylindrical member, and the lens The lens and the cylindrical member are cooled in a state where the outer peripheral surface of the lens is in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical member by pressure molding and received by a second mold that transfers the other surface of the cylindrical member. To do.
Here, the second mold protrudes in the lens thickness direction by press-molding a lens material with a surface having a shape smaller than the cross-sectional shape in the circumferential direction of the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical member. A protrusion may be formed, and the protrusion may be formed in non-contact or partial contact with the second mold.
From another viewpoint, the optical element molding die to which the present invention is applied includes a holding portion that holds a cylindrical member that is open at both ends, and includes a tip portion that is inserted from one end of the cylindrical member. 1 die and a tip portion for pressure-molding a material that is inserted from the other end of the tubular member and located in the internal space of the tubular member in cooperation with the tip portion of the first die A reduced portion that reduces the area of the end surface on which the tip portion is pressure-molded is formed in the first die or / and the second die. The reduced portion is formed at an edge portion of the tip portion.
Moreover, the said reduction | decrease part can be formed in the slope shape. Moreover, the said reduction | decrease part can be formed in the concave hollow shape, It can be characterized by the above-mentioned.
Further, from another viewpoint, the optical element to which the present invention is applied is fixed to a cylindrical member having openings at both ends and an inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical member, and one end of the cylindrical member. And a lens member through which light emitted from the opening at the other end and passes through the opening of the other end of the lens member is fixed to the cylindrical member on at least one of the openings. The lens member protrudes in the thickness direction over substantially the entire circumference.
Here, the peripheral edge of the lens member fixed to the cylindrical member on both opening sides of the cylindrical member protrudes in the thickness direction of the lens member over substantially the entire circumference. be able to. In addition, the linear expansion coefficient of the cylindrical member may be larger than the linear expansion coefficient of the lens member.
Further, from another point of view of the present invention, an optical element to which the present invention is applied is an optical element in which a pressure-molded lens member is fixed to an inner peripheral surface of a cylindrical member, and the cylinder When the lens material is pressure-molded on the surface of the molding die having a shape smaller than the cross-sectional shape in the circumferential direction of the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical member, the protruding portion that projects in the thickness direction of the lens member becomes the molding die. And non-contact or partly contact.
According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a method of manufacturing an optical element capable of realizing cost reduction.
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

The
The

Next, a molding die (optical element molding die) 100 used for manufacturing the

The
In addition, the
Further, the
As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, a concave
Here, the
In other words, the pressure surfaces of the
More specifically, the
Here, the
Further, the
As will be described later, when the pressure molding is performed, a preform placed between the
Next, a method for manufacturing the
5A, 5B, and 6 are longitudinal sectional views for explaining a method of manufacturing the
As shown in FIG. 5A, the metal ring-shaped
Thereafter, as shown in FIG. 6, mold clamping is performed such that the
More specifically, when the preform is pressurized by the
Thus, the
After pressure molding is performed in this manner, the
Here, the thermal expansion coefficient of the
