Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a lighting device for a display device and a display device using the same.
In the backlight unit disclosed in Patent Document 1, the technology aims to improve the luminance of the central portion of the display screen, correct the luminance decrease in the peripheral portion of the display screen, and maintain the luminance uniformity of the display screen. Is disclosed.
Specifically, the arrangement interval of the plurality of cold cathode fluorescent lamps is set to be narrower in the central portion corresponding to the central portion of the display screen of the display panel than the peripheral portion corresponding to the peripheral portion of the display screen, and the plural cold cathode fluorescent lamps are arranged. A technique related to a backlight device is disclosed in which the distance between the cathode fluorescent lamp and the diffusion plate is set wider at the center portion than at the peripheral portion.
However, even if the technique disclosed in Patent Document 1 is used, the luminance uniformity is not sufficient, and further improvement is desired. The present invention has been made based on such a background, and improves the luminance of the central portion of the display screen, corrects the luminance decrease of the peripheral portion, and further improves the luminance uniformity of the display screen. An object of the present invention is to provide a lighting device for a display device. It is another object of the present invention to provide a high-luminance and high-quality display device using such a display device illumination device.
In order to solve the above-described problems, a lighting device for a display device according to the present invention includes a plurality of tubular light sources arranged in parallel, a light diffusing plate disposed on a light emitting side of the tubular light source, and light from the tubular light source. A light reflection surface disposed on the opposite side to the emission side, and the light reflection surface is an inclined surface directed to the light diffusion plate side below the array end portion of the tubular light sources arranged in parallel. The tubular light sources arranged in parallel are arranged along at least the inclined surface of the light reflecting surface.
According to such an illumination device for a display device, the tubular light source is provided with a light reflecting surface having an inclined surface below the arrangement end portion side of the tubular light source, and the tubular light sources are arranged along the light reflecting surface (that is, Since the parallel direction of the tubular light sources (in other words, the direction in which the axes of the tubular light sources are aligned) is along the inclination of the light reflecting surface), the light emitted in the direction parallel to the plate surface of the light diffusing plate is emitted from the tubular light source. Since the light is reflected toward the light diffusion plate by the inclination of the light reflecting surface, the luminance can be improved and the occurrence of luminance unevenness can be suppressed.
Specifically, when the light reflecting surface is not inclined, each light emitted from each tubular light source in a direction parallel to the plate surface of the light diffusing plate is incident on the light diffusing plate and is emitted from the light diffusing plate. Although not emitted, by providing the light reflecting surface with an inclined surface directed toward the light diffusing plate as in the present invention, the light is directed effectively toward the light diffusing plate, and the illumination device is used. It is possible to improve the illumination brightness due to.
Even if the light reflecting surface is inclined, for example, if the parallel direction of each tubular light source is parallel to the light diffusing plate, each light emitted from each tubular light source in a direction parallel to the plate surface of the light diffusing plate. Is concentrated and reflected at approximately one location on the inclined surface of the light reflecting surface, and the reflected light is concentrated and incident on approximately one location on the light diffusing plate. Since the tubular light sources are arranged in parallel along the inclined surface, each light emitted from each tubular light source in a direction parallel to the plate surface of the light diffusing plate is reflected at different positions on the inclined surface of the light reflecting surface, Each reflected light is dispersed and incident on the light diffusion plate. Therefore, the light utilization efficiency is increased, and the unevenness of luminance is less likely to occur when the light is suitably dispersed.
Furthermore, in the present invention, since the inclined surface is formed on the light reflecting surface below the arrangement end portion side of each tubular light source, for example, while reducing the arrangement interval of each tubular light source in the central portion in order to improve the luminance of the central portion, Even when the arrangement interval of each tubular light source on the end side is increased for cost reduction, the formation of a lamp image due to a decrease in brightness in the peripheral portion is prevented or suppressed, and more uniform light can be emitted. It becomes.
The “inclined surface” in the display device illumination device of the present invention is used as including a curved surface in addition to a linear inclined surface. In addition, the parallel arrangement of the tubular light sources means a parallel arrangement with respect to the planar view (when viewed from the light emission side) of the display device illumination device, and a side view (from the side surface intersecting with the light emission side). (When viewed) are arranged along the light reflecting surface as described above.
In the illumination device for a display device according to the present invention, the light reflecting surface has an inclined surface directed toward the array central portion side so as to collect the reflected light on the array central portion side of the tubular light sources arranged in parallel. It can be.
In this case, the reflected light can be suitably condensed on the center side of the array (that is, the center side of the display device illumination device), so that in addition to the above-described effects, the brightness of the center portion is further improved. It becomes possible to make it.
The light reflecting surface may be a curved surface.
In this case, illumination light can be suitably condensed by the curved light reflecting surface, and as a result, the luminance of the central portion is improved and the luminance reduction of the end portion is corrected to further improve the luminance uniformity. Is possible. In this case, each tubular light source is arranged along the curved surface, that is, the axis of each tubular light source is arranged along the curved surface.
Each of the tubular light sources arranged in parallel may be arranged in parallel with the inclined surface of the light reflecting surface.
Also in this case, the light emitted from each tubular light source arranged in parallel with the inclined surface is reflected by the light reflecting surface and is preferably directed to the light diffusion plate side. In particular, by arranging in parallel with the inclined surface, the light is more uniformly incident on the light reflecting surface, and the light reflected from the light reflecting surface is also incident on a wide range of the light diffusion plate. It becomes more difficult to occur.
The tubular light sources arranged in parallel may be equal in distance to the light reflecting surface.
Thus, the brightness can be further improved by equalizing the distance to the light reflecting surface. Note that the distance between the tubular light source and the light reflecting surface is equal, not only that the distance between the tubular light source and the inclined surface is the same, but also the distance between the tubular light source and the light reflecting surface in portions other than the inclined surface. Means equal.
The arrangement interval of the tubular light sources may be narrower on the arrangement center side than on the arrangement end side.
In this case, the luminance can be improved on the center side. On the other hand, on the side of the end portion, the unevenness in brightness is caused by increasing the arrangement interval, and a lamp image can be visually recognized. Since it has a shape, such luminance unevenness hardly occurs, the luminance uniformity is excellent, and there is little possibility that the lamp image is visually recognized.
The light reflecting surface may have a smaller distance from the light diffusing plate at the arrangement end portion side of the tubular light source than at the arrangement center portion side.
Thus, by reducing the distance between the light reflecting surface and the light diffusing plate on the array end side, it is possible to prevent or suppress a decrease in luminance on the array end side. In particular, in the case where the arrangement interval of the tubular light sources is wide as described above, the brightness reduction suppressing effect can be more remarkable.
The tubular light sources arranged in parallel are held by a clip-like light source holding member, and the light source holding member can be attached to a case member including the light reflecting surface.
In this case, the tubular light sources can be suitably arranged. For example, the arrangement of the tubular light sources can also be designed by the arrangement of the light source holding member, so that the labor related to the arrangement can be simplified. It becomes possible.
The light source holding member may have an equal height with respect to each of the tubular light sources.
In this case, the distance between the tubular light source and the light reflecting surface can be easily made equal. That is, if the light source holding members have the same height, the distance between the tubular light source and the light reflecting surface can be made equal only by making the mounting manner to the case members the same.
The light source holding member may be attached on the inclined surface of the light reflecting surface so as to intersect perpendicularly to the inclined surface.
Thus, by attaching so that it may intersect perpendicularly with respect to an inclined surface, it becomes possible to design the distance of a tubular light source and a light reflection surface based on the height of the said light source holding member.
The light reflecting surface can be formed by bending a light reflecting plate member.
In this case, the formation of the light reflecting surface is facilitated, which can contribute to cost reduction.
In particular, an inverter board for controlling the driving of the tubular light source may be provided on the back side of the light reflecting surface formed by bending the light reflecting plate member.
When the light reflecting surface is formed by bending the plate member, a predetermined space can be formed on the back side (downward) of the inclined surface. Therefore, if the inverter board for driving the light source is disposed in the space, the space can be effectively used.
Alternatively, a control board for controlling the driving of the tubular light source can be disposed on the back side of the light reflecting surface formed by bending the light reflecting plate member.
When the light reflecting surface is formed by bending the plate member, a predetermined space can be formed on the back side (downward) of the inclined surface. Therefore, if the inverter board for driving the light source is disposed in the space, the space can be effectively used.
Next, in order to solve the above problems, a display device of the present invention includes the display device illumination device, and a display panel that performs display using light from the display device illumination device. Features.
According to such a display device, the display device illumination device that supplies light to the display panel improves the luminance of the central portion of the display panel, corrects the luminance decrease of the peripheral portion, and uniforms the luminance of the display screen. Therefore, it is possible to improve the luminance of the center portion of the display screen and make the luminance of the entire screen uniform.
As the display panel, a liquid crystal panel can be exemplified. Such a display device can be applied as a liquid crystal display device to various uses, for example, a desktop screen of a television or a personal computer, and is particularly suitable for a large screen.
According to the present invention, an illumination device for a display device that can improve the luminance of the central portion of the display screen, correct the luminance decrease of the peripheral portion, and improve the luminance uniformity of the display screen, and a display device using the same. A display device with high brightness and high image quality can be provided.
DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, embodiments embodying the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.
1 is an exploded perspective view showing a schematic configuration of a liquid crystal display device according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a sectional view showing the schematic configuration of the liquid crystal display device, and FIG. 3 is a front view showing a schematic configuration of a lamp clip. It is. 4 and 5 are cross-sectional views showing a modification of the liquid crystal display device.
First, the overall configuration of the liquid
Next, the
The box-shaped
In particular, in the present embodiment, the reflecting
The cold-
Of the cold-
Thus, the reflecting
Further, the
On the other hand, the
Further, the mounting plate 21 of the
The locking
On the upper surface of the mounting plate 21 (the surface facing the
The liquid crystal display device of the present embodiment has the above configuration, and the operation and effect will be described subsequently.
First, in the liquid
Therefore, the light emitted in the
In the present embodiment, since the
Furthermore, in the present embodiment, since the
Next, in the liquid
In particular, since the
In particular, since the
Next, in the liquid
Further, in the liquid
Further, in the liquid
