Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an abnormality diagnosis device for an exhaust gas sensor. More specifically, the present invention relates to an abnormality diagnosis device that detects element cracks that occur in an exhaust gas sensor.
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2004-353494 discloses an air-fuel ratio sensor control device that generates an output corresponding to an exhaust air-fuel ratio. The air-fuel ratio sensor in this apparatus is arranged between an atmosphere side electrode that comes into contact with the atmosphere in an air layer isolated from the exhaust passage, an exhaust side electrode that is exposed to the exhaust passage and comes into contact with the exhaust gas, and these electrodes. And an oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte layer. Electrode lines are connected to the atmosphere-side electrode and the exhaust-side electrode, respectively, and a positive voltage is applied between the two electrodes so that the potential of the atmosphere-side electrode becomes high when the air-fuel ratio is detected. As a result, a sensor current corresponding to the difference in oxygen concentration between the exhaust gas and the atmosphere flows between the exhaust side electrode and the atmosphere side electrode of the air-fuel ratio sensor. Therefore, the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas is obtained by detecting the sensor current.
Further, the above prior art device has means for detecting the occurrence of element cracks that lead to the air layer of the air-fuel ratio sensor. Specifically, in this apparatus, when a crack of the air-fuel ratio sensor is detected, a reverse voltage is applied between both electrodes so that the potential of the exhaust-side electrode becomes higher as opposed to the positive voltage. As a result, a sensor current (reverse current) corresponding to the oxygen concentration in the atmospheric layer in contact with the atmosphere side electrode flows through the air-fuel ratio sensor. Here, if the air-fuel ratio sensor has a crack that leads to the atmospheric layer, the exhaust gas has entered the atmospheric layer from the crack, so the oxygen concentration in the atmospheric layer is lower than that in the atmospheric air. It is thought that. Accordingly, the reverse current flowing through the air-fuel ratio sensor in which cracks are generated when the reverse voltage is applied is smaller than the reverse current flowing through the normal air-fuel ratio sensor, that is, the reverse current according to the oxygen concentration in the atmosphere. Therefore, in the above prior art, the reverse current detected when a reverse voltage is applied to the air-fuel ratio sensor, with the range of the reverse current flowing through the normal air-fuel ratio sensor as a reference range according to the oxygen concentration in the atmosphere, When it is smaller than the minimum value of the reference range, it is determined that a crack has occurred in the air-fuel ratio sensor.
As described above, in the prior art, a reverse voltage is applied to detect a reverse current, and the presence / absence of an abnormality in the air-fuel ratio sensor is determined by comparison with a preset reference range value. Here, the reference range serving as a criterion for determining abnormality is a value of a range expected as an output of a reverse current flowing in a normal air-fuel ratio sensor when a reverse voltage is applied, and is stored in advance in the apparatus. . However, it is considered that the reverse current of the air-fuel ratio sensor varies due to the difference in atmospheric pressure at the time of detection.
Therefore, when the range of the reverse current of the air-fuel ratio sensor deviates from the above reference range, the deviation from the reference range is not caused by the mixture of exhaust gas into the atmosphere layer, but varies due to the difference in atmospheric pressure. May be due to the effects of In such a case, if the abnormality determination is performed using the reference range assumed in advance as a constant determination value as in the above-described prior art, the presence / absence of a crack is erroneously determined due to the influence of variations in atmospheric pressure. Things can happen. However, it is difficult to determine whether the deviation from the reference range is caused by the mixture of exhaust gas into the atmosphere due to cracks or the variation in atmospheric pressure.
Therefore, the present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and prevents erroneous determination due to exhaust gas sensor output variations caused by differences in atmospheric pressure during detection, and more accurately detects abnormalities in the exhaust gas sensor. According to the first invention, the reverse voltage is applied between the electrodes of the exhaust gas sensor when diagnosing the abnormality of the exhaust gas sensor. Then, an abnormality of the exhaust gas sensor is detected according to the reverse current flowing during the reverse voltage and the atmospheric pressure detected when the reverse current is detected. Here, a difference corresponding to the atmospheric pressure supplied to the atmosphere side electrode of the exhaust gas sensor appears in the reverse current during application of the reverse voltage. Therefore, by considering the reverse current and the atmospheric pressure in the abnormality determination, the influence of the atmospheric pressure can be eliminated, and the abnormality that appears in the reverse current due to the abnormality of the exhaust gas sensor can be clearly distinguished. . Accordingly, it is possible to accurately detect the abnormality of the exhaust gas sensor by reducing the erroneous determination regarding the presence or absence of the abnormality of the exhaust gas sensor.
According to the second invention, the value of the detected reverse current is corrected according to the atmospheric pressure. Therefore, the influence of the atmospheric pressure on the reverse current can be more reliably removed, and an abnormality that appears in the reverse current due to the abnormality of the exhaust gas sensor can be detected. Therefore, the abnormality of the exhaust gas sensor can be detected more accurately.
By the way, when the atmospheric pressure is low, the number of oxygen molecules in the atmospheric layer of the exhaust gas sensor is small. Therefore, when the atmospheric pressure is low, it is conceivable that even in a normal exhaust gas sensor, oxygen in the atmosphere layer becomes insufficient during reverse voltage application, and the magnitude of the reverse current becomes small. In this regard, according to the third aspect of the invention, the reverse current is corrected so as to increase as the atmospheric pressure is lower. Therefore, it is possible to detect the abnormality of the exhaust gas sensor more accurately while suppressing the influence due to the difference in atmospheric pressure.
According to the fourth aspect of the invention, a correction change amount obtained by correcting the change amount of the reverse current flowing between the electrodes of the exhaust gas sensor during application of the reverse voltage in accordance with the atmospheric pressure is obtained. An abnormality of the gas sensor is detected. Therefore, as described above, the influence of atmospheric pressure on the amount of change in the reverse current can be eliminated, and the influence of the exhaust gas sensor output variation caused by the difference in other detection conditions can be eliminated. It is possible to clearly distinguish the change in the reverse current caused by.
As described above, when the atmospheric pressure is low, the number of oxygen molecules in the atmospheric layer of the exhaust gas sensor is small. Therefore, when the atmospheric pressure is low, it is conceivable that even in a normal exhaust gas sensor, oxygen in the atmosphere layer becomes insufficient during reverse voltage application, and the amount of change in reverse current increases. In this regard, according to the fifth aspect of the invention, the lower the atmospheric pressure is, the smaller the amount of change in the reverse current is corrected. Therefore, it is possible to detect the abnormality of the exhaust gas sensor more accurately while suppressing the influence due to the difference in atmospheric pressure.
According to the sixth aspect of the present invention, the reverse current ratio, which is the ratio of the first reverse current at the first time to the second reverse current at the second time after the first time during reverse electric application, is used as the amount of change. Thus, it is possible to detect whether the exhaust gas sensor is abnormal. Therefore, it is possible to more accurately grasp the change in the reverse current during the application of the reverse voltage and accurately detect the crack of the exhaust gas sensor.
According to the seventh aspect of the invention, a determination value used for determining whether or not the exhaust gas sensor is abnormal is set according to the atmospheric pressure, and the magnitude of the reverse current during the application of the reverse voltage is compared with the determination value. An abnormality is detected. Here, the reverse current during the reverse voltage application shows a difference according to the atmospheric pressure supplied to the atmosphere side electrode of the exhaust gas sensor. Therefore, when the abnormality is detected from the reverse current, the reference value corresponding to the atmospheric pressure is used to eliminate the influence of the atmospheric pressure, and the exhaust gas sensor abnormality is clearly distinguished and detected. be able to. Accordingly, it is possible to accurately detect the abnormality of the exhaust gas sensor by reducing the erroneous determination regarding the presence or absence of the abnormality of the exhaust gas sensor.
When the atmospheric pressure is low, the number of oxygen molecules in the atmospheric layer of the exhaust gas sensor is small. Therefore, even in a normal exhaust gas sensor, it is conceivable that oxygen in the atmosphere layer becomes insufficient during reverse voltage application, and the magnitude of the reverse current becomes small. In this regard, according to the eighth invention, the determination value is set to be smaller as the atmospheric pressure is lower. Thereby, it is possible to accurately detect the abnormality of the exhaust gas sensor by eliminating the influence of the atmospheric pressure.
According to the ninth aspect, a determination value used for determining whether there is an abnormality in the exhaust gas sensor is set according to the atmospheric pressure, and the exhaust gas sensor is compared by comparing the amount of change in the reverse current during application of the reverse voltage with the determination value. An abnormality of the gas sensor is detected. Here, a difference according to the atmospheric pressure supplied to the atmosphere side electrode of the exhaust gas sensor appears in the amount of change in the reverse current during application of the reverse voltage. Therefore, by determining the reference value that corresponds to the atmospheric pressure when detecting an abnormality from the amount of change in the reverse current, the influence of the atmospheric pressure is eliminated and the exhaust gas sensor abnormality is clearly distinguished. It can be detected separately.
Therefore, even in a normal exhaust gas sensor, it is conceivable that oxygen in the atmosphere layer becomes insufficient during reverse voltage application, and the amount of change in reverse current increases. In this regard, according to the tenth invention, the determination value is set to be larger as the atmospheric pressure is lower. Thereby, it is possible to accurately detect the abnormality of the exhaust gas sensor by eliminating the influence of the atmospheric pressure.
According to the eleventh aspect, the reverse current ratio, which is the ratio of the first reverse current at the first time to the second reverse current at the second time after the first time during reverse electric application, is used as the amount of change. Thus, it is possible to detect whether the exhaust gas sensor is abnormal. Therefore, it is possible to more accurately grasp the change in the reverse current during the application of the reverse voltage and accurately detect the crack of the exhaust gas sensor.
When the atmospheric pressure is low, the number of oxygen molecules in the atmosphere of the exhaust gas sensor is small, so even with a normal exhaust gas sensor, the reverse current during reverse voltage application changes as with an abnormal exhaust gas sensor. To do. For this reason, when the atmospheric pressure is low, it is difficult to determine whether the exhaust gas sensor is abnormal based on the reverse current or the change in the reverse current. In this regard, according to the twelfth aspect, application of the reverse voltage is prohibited when the atmospheric pressure is not recognized to be higher than the reference atmospheric pressure. Thus, it is possible to avoid making an exhaust gas sensor abnormality diagnosis in a state where it is difficult to make an accurate determination as to whether there is an abnormality in the exhaust gas sensor, and to prevent erroneous determination.
Immediately after starting application of the reverse voltage to the exhaust gas sensor, a large reverse current (negative large current) may flow due to the internal resistance of the sensor element. Further, in this case, regardless of whether the exhaust gas sensor is normal or abnormal, the subsequent change in reverse current with respect to a large negative current is large. For this reason, there is a case where an accurate determination cannot be made even if an abnormality of the exhaust gas sensor is determined based on the reverse current or the amount of change in the reverse current. In this regard, according to the thirteenth invention, the detection of the reverse current is permitted after the reference time has elapsed since the reverse voltage application started. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent erroneous determination based on the reverse current with respect to the negative large current immediately after application of the reverse current or the amount of change thereof, and to perform more accurate abnormality diagnosis.
According to the fourteenth or fifteenth invention, application of the reverse voltage is permitted only when the intake air amount or the intake air integrated amount is equal to or greater than the reference amount. Therefore, even if the intake air amount is small and an element crack occurs in the exhaust gas sensor, it is possible to prevent detection of an abnormality when the intake air amount is small enough that the exhaust gas does not enter the atmosphere layer from the element crack portion. be able to.
According to the ninth aspect, the reverse current ratio, which is the ratio of the first reverse current at the first time during the reverse electric application to the second reverse current at the second time after the first time, is used as the amount of change. Thus, it is possible to detect whether the exhaust gas sensor is abnormal. Therefore, it is possible to more accurately grasp the change in the reverse current during the application of the reverse voltage and accurately detect the crack of the exhaust gas sensor.

The air-

The potential of the
Since the
The
[Sensor crack judgment principle]
The
Here, when the air-
As described above, the reverse current flowing through the air-
Here, the value of the reverse current flowing through the air-
In addition, when reverse voltage is applied, oxygen is successively supplied to the surface of the atmosphere-
By the way, how much the reverse current decreases due to the influence of cracks is determined by how much burned gas in the exhaust gas is mixed into the
Therefore, the reverse current flowing through the same air-fuel ratio sensor is detected twice as described below, and the presence / absence of crack occurrence is determined based on the amount of change in the reverse current. FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating reverse currents flowing through the normal sensor and the abnormal sensor when a reverse voltage is applied. In FIG. 3, the solid line (a) represents the output of the normal sensor, and the dotted line (b) represents the output of the abnormal sensor.
When no cracks are generated in the
On the other hand, when a crack leading to the
Accordingly, the reverse current I1 (first reverse current) at time T1 (first time) immediately after the start of reverse voltage application, and the time T2 (second time) when a certain amount of elapsed time (reference elapsed time) has elapsed since the start of reverse current application. When the reverse current I2 (second reverse current) is detected in the normal sensor, there is no significant difference between the reverse currents I1 and I2 in the normal sensor, whereas the reverse currents I1 and I2 in the abnormal sensor There is a big difference between the two. Therefore, when detecting a crack, the reverse current ratio I1 / I2 is obtained from the reverse current I1 at time T1 and the reverse current I2 at time T2. The reverse current ratio I1 / I2 is close to 1 when the sensor is a normal sensor, and is larger than the reverse current ratio of the normal sensor when the sensor is abnormal. Therefore, by using this, it is possible to detect the presence or absence of cracks based on the reverse current ratio I1 / I2.
In this way, by taking the ratio of the two detection values (I1, I2), it is possible to eliminate the influence due to variations due to deterioration with time inherent to the air-fuel ratio sensor, and variations due to conditions such as element temperature at the time of crack detection. Can do. In other words, even if the air-
[Characteristic processing of the first embodiment]
However, even when crack detection is performed by eliminating the influence of output deviation due to deterioration with time as described above, the reverse current ratio between the normal sensor and the abnormal sensor is affected by the atmospheric pressure in the
FIG. 4 is a diagram showing the reverse current generated by the normal sensor and the abnormal sensor when a reverse voltage is applied. In FIG. 4, the solid line (a) is the output of the normal sensor when the atmospheric pressure is relatively high, and the alternate long and short dash line (b) is the output of the normal sensor when the atmospheric pressure is relatively low, and the dotted line (c ) Is the output of the abnormality sensor.
If no cracks are generated in the air-
However, when the atmospheric pressure supplied into the
In the abnormality sensor, the exhaust gas has entered the
Here, the change in the reverse current of the normal sensor when the atmospheric pressure is low as shown by the one-dot chain line (b) in FIG. 4 is relatively close to the change in the reverse current of the abnormal sensor shown in the dotted line (c). . That is, the reverse current ratio I1 / I2 of the normal sensor when the atmospheric pressure is low and the reverse current ratio I1 / I2 of the abnormal sensor may be relatively close to each other.
FIG. 5 is a diagram for explaining the relationship between the reverse current ratio I1 / I2 calculated based on the reverse current generated by the normal sensor and the atmospheric pressure in the
In other words, in the region shown in FIG. 5 where the atmospheric pressure is low to some extent and the reverse current ratio I1 / I2 is equal to or greater than the judgment value (indicated by the hatched portion in FIG. 5), there is a mixture of abnormal sensors and normal sensors. It becomes. Therefore, when the atmosphere supplied to the
Therefore, in the first embodiment, the obtained reverse current ratio I1 / I2 is corrected according to the atmospheric pressure. FIG. 6 is a diagram illustrating the relationship between the correction coefficient for the reverse current ratio and the atmospheric pressure. In FIG. 6, the horizontal axis represents atmospheric pressure, and the vertical axis represents the correction coefficient.
The reverse current ratio I1 / I2 tends to increase when the atmospheric pressure in the
In specific control, a correction coefficient corresponding to the atmospheric pressure is obtained, and the detected reverse current ratio I1 / I2 is multiplied by the correction coefficient. The corrected reverse current ratio * I1 / I2 (correction change amount) calculated as a result is compared with the judgment value. If the corrected reverse current ratio * I1 / I2 is larger than the judgment value, a crack occurs in the air-fuel ratio sensor. An abnormality is determined by determining that it is in progress.

FIG. 7 is a timing chart for explaining conditions at the start of crack detection of the air-fuel ratio sensor. In the first embodiment, as shown in FIG. 7, integration of the intake air amount GA is started at time Ts when the intake air amount GA reaches the reference intake air amount (30 [g / sec]). Thereafter, application of the reverse voltage is started at time Te when it is confirmed that the intake air integrated amount ΣGA has reached the reference integrated amount (45 [g]). Thereafter, the reverse current is detected at each of the times T1 and T2 during application of the reverse voltage.

If the establishment of the precondition is not recognized in step S10, it is considered that the condition for accurately determining the presence / absence of a crack is not established, and thus this process ends. On the other hand, when the detection precondition is satisfied in step S10, it is determined whether or not the current intake air amount GA is greater than or equal to a determination value 30 [g / sec] (S12). Here, the current intake air amount GA is detected according to the output of the air flow meter 36, and it is determined whether or not the intake air amount GA is equal to or greater than a reference intake air amount (30 [g / sec]). If the establishment of the intake air amount GA ≧ 30 [g / sec] is not recognized, the determination process of step S12 is repeatedly performed until the establishment of this condition is confirmed.
On the other hand, when the establishment of the intake air amount GA ≧ 30 [g / sec] is recognized, the integration of the intake air integrated amount ΣGA is started (step S14). That is, the intake air amount GA obtained from the air flow meter is integrated, and the intake air integrated amount ΣGA after the intake air amount GA ≧ 30 [g / sec] is calculated.
Next, it is determined whether or not the current intake air integrated amount ΣGA is equal to or greater than a reference integrated amount (45 [g]) (S16). If the integration amount ΣGA ≧ 45 [g] is not established in step S16, the integration of the intake air amount GA is continued until the integration amount ΣGA is recognized to be 45 [g] or more. The determination process is repeated.
On the other hand, if it is recognized in step S16 that the integrated amount ΣGA ≧ 45 [g], if a crack has occurred, it can be determined that the exhaust gas has sufficiently entered the
[Specific Control Routine of Embodiment 1]
FIG. 9 is a flowchart for illustrating a specific control routine executed by the system in the first embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 9, first, a detection condition determination routine is executed (S100). The detection condition determination routine is executed by executing the routine of FIG. Next, it is determined whether the detection condition is satisfied (S110). That is, as a result of the routine of FIG. 8, it is determined whether or not the detection condition is satisfied in step S18. In step S110, if the detection condition is not satisfied, the current process ends.
On the other hand, if the detection condition is satisfied in step S110, then the current atmospheric pressure P is detected (S112). Specifically, the output of the atmospheric pressure sensor 34 installed in the vicinity of the air-
Next, application of a reverse voltage is started (S114). Here, the
Next, the reverse current I1 is detected at time T1 after the start of reverse voltage application (S116). The reverse current I1 can be obtained based on the output to the ADC1. Next, it is determined whether the reference elapsed time has elapsed after the start of reverse voltage application (S118). That is, it is determined whether or not a sufficient reference elapsed time has passed after the start of application of the reverse voltage between the normal sensor and the abnormal sensor. Note that such a reference elapsed time is determined in advance by experiments or the like and stored in the
On the other hand, when the passage of the reference elapsed time is recognized in step S118, the reverse current I2 is detected at that time (S120). The current flowing between both electrodes is obtained based on the output of ADC1. Thereafter, the application of the reverse voltage is stopped (S122). That is, the
Next, the reverse current ratio I1 / I2 is calculated (S124). The reverse current ratio I1 / I2 is obtained by dividing the value of the reverse current I1 by the value of the reverse current I2 based on the reverse current detected in steps S116 and S120.
Next, a correction coefficient for the reverse current ratio I1 / I2 is calculated (S126). The correction coefficient is obtained according to the map that defines the relationship between the atmospheric pressure and the correction coefficient stored in advance in the
Next, it is determined whether or not the corrected reverse current ratio * I1 / I2 is greater than a determination value (S130). The determination value is a value stored in advance in the
On the other hand, if the establishment of the corrected reverse current ratio * I1 / I2> determination value is not recognized in step S130, it is considered that the output of the air-
As described above, according to the first embodiment, when crack detection of the air-
In the first embodiment described above, the transistor 36 of the drive circuit is turned on to realize the “reverse voltage applying unit” of the present invention. In this state, the ADC 1 detects the output to detect the “reverse current detecting unit”. Is realized. Further, by executing steps S126 and S128 of FIG. 9, the “correction change amount calculation means” of the present invention is realized, and by executing steps S130 to S134, “abnormality detection means” is realized. Further, by executing step S12 of FIG. 8, the “intake air amount determining means” of the present invention is realized, and by executing step S14, the “integrated amount calculating means” is realized, and step S16 is executed. As a result, “integrated amount determination means” is realized. Further, the “reverse voltage application permission means” is realized by executing step S18 of FIG. 8 and step S110 of FIG.
In the first embodiment, a correction coefficient corresponding to the atmospheric pressure is obtained, and a correction reverse current ratio * I1 / I2 obtained by multiplying the correction coefficient by the reverse current ratio I1 / I2 is obtained. Explained the case of performing. However, in the present invention, the method for determining the presence or absence of cracks in the air-
Further, the detection value of the reverse current or the value obtained in accordance therewith is not corrected. For example, the determination value may be set according to the atmospheric pressure. Such a case will be described below as another example of the first embodiment.
In this other example, the reverse current ratio I1 / I2 calculated from the detected reverse currents I1 and I2 is used without correction, and the determination value is set according to the atmospheric pressure. It is different from the case. FIG. 10 is a diagram for explaining the relationship between the determination value and the atmospheric pressure in another example of the first embodiment. In FIG. 10, the horizontal axis represents the atmospheric pressure, and the vertical axis represents the reverse current ratio. Further, the solid line (a) in FIG. 10 represents the determination value, and the dotted line (b) represents the reverse current ratio I1 / I2 of the normal sensor.
As indicated by the dotted line (b) in FIG. 10, when the atmospheric pressure is low, the reverse current ratio I1 / I2 is large even for a normal sensor. Therefore, as shown by the solid line (a) in FIG. 10, the determination value is set to be a large value when the atmospheric pressure is low, and is set to be a substantially constant value when the atmospheric pressure is somewhat high. . Such a determination value is determined based on the output from the normal sensor through experiments or the like and stored in the
In a specific control routine in this other example, a determination value corresponding to the atmospheric pressure P is set instead of the process of calculating the correction reverse current ratio by obtaining the correction coefficient in steps S126 to S128 of FIG. The Then, instead of the process of comparing the corrected reverse current ratio * I1 / I2 with the determination value in step S130, whether or not the reverse current ratio I1 / I2 obtained in step S124 is larger than the set determination value. Is determined. As a result, if the reverse current ratio I1 / I2> determination value, it is determined that a crack has occurred, and if the reverse current ratio I1 / I2 ≦ determination value, the sensor is determined to be normal.
In another example shown in FIG. 10, the determination value according to the atmospheric pressure is set, so that the “determination value setting means” according to the present invention is realized, and the reverse current ratio is compared with the determination value, thereby generating a crack. The “abnormality detecting means” is realized by the determination.
In the first embodiment, the reverse current ratio is calculated in order to eliminate the variation in the output of the air / fuel ratio sensor due to the deterioration of the air / fuel ratio sensor over time and the difference in detection conditions, and the reverse current ratio is used to calculate the sensor current. The case where abnormality determination is performed has been described. However, the present invention is not limited to this. As shown in FIG. 3 and the like, the sensor abnormality can be detected to some extent by comparing the reverse currents themselves. Accordingly, reverse current may be used for detection in abnormality detection. For example, a reverse current corrected by other methods to eliminate output caused by factors other than cracks, You may use for abnormality detection.
If the air-fuel ratio sensor is normal, the magnitude of the reverse current is low when the atmospheric pressure is low, and is large when the atmospheric pressure is high, contrary to the reverse current ratio. Accordingly, when the correction according to the atmospheric pressure is performed on the magnitude of the reverse current, the correction is performed so that the magnitude of the reverse current becomes larger when the atmospheric pressure is lower. By such processing, the “corrected reverse current calculation means” of the present invention is realized. Further, when the determination value used for the abnormality determination is corrected by the atmospheric pressure, the determination value is corrected to be a smaller value when the atmospheric pressure is lower. This process implements the “determination value setting means” of the present invention.
In the first embodiment, when the intake air amount GA is equal to or greater than the reference intake air amount 30 [g / sec] and the intake air accumulated amount ΣGA is equal to or greater than the reference accumulated amount 45 [g], the reverse voltage The case where the application of is started has been described. However, in the present invention, the reference intake air amount serving as a reference for starting the integrated amount is not limited to 30 [g / sec], and the reference integrated amount with respect to the intake air integrated amount is not limited to 45 [g]. These reference amounts can be appropriately set according to the size of the crack to be detected.
In the first embodiment, when the intake air amount GA is equal to or greater than the reference intake air amount (30 [g / sec]), the reverse air voltage is applied by further increasing the intake air accumulated amount to the reference accumulated amount or more. Explained the case of permitting. However, in the present invention, the crack detection start condition is not limited to this. For example, when one of the intake air amount GA and the intake air integrated amount ΣGA is equal to or greater than a set reference amount, the reverse voltage May be started. Specifically, for example, when it is determined in step S12 in FIG. 8 that the intake air amount is equal to or greater than the reference intake air amount, steps S14 and S16 are not performed, and the detection condition is immediately satisfied (S18). Such control is realized. The conditions regarding the intake air amount are the same in the following embodiments.
In such a case as well, the “intake air amount determination means” is realized by determining whether or not the intake air amount is equal to or greater than the reference intake air amount, and thereafter, it is determined that the detection condition is satisfied (S18). The “reverse voltage application permitting means” is realized by determining whether or not the detection condition is satisfied in step S110 of FIG.
In the first embodiment, the case where the presence / absence of a crack in the air-
In the first embodiment, the case where the atmospheric pressure near the air-
Embodiment 2. FIG.
The system of the second embodiment has the same configuration as the system of the first embodiment. In the first embodiment, the reverse current ratio I1 / I2 is corrected according to the atmospheric pressure, or the determination value is set according to the atmospheric pressure to determine the presence / absence of a crack in consideration of the atmospheric pressure. explained. On the other hand, in the second embodiment, when the atmospheric pressure is low, the detection of the crack occurrence is prohibited without correcting the detection value according to the atmospheric pressure or setting the determination value.
Specifically, in the second embodiment, the determination in the hatched area shown in FIG. 5, that is, the area where the atmospheric pressure is low and the reverse current ratio of the normal sensor is equal to or higher than the determination value is prohibited. That is, when the detected atmospheric pressure P is smaller than the reference atmospheric pressure P0, control is performed so as to prohibit crack detection.
FIG. 11 is a flowchart for illustrating a control routine executed by the system in the second embodiment of the present invention. The routine shown in FIG. 11 is the same as the routine of FIG. 9 except that the process of step S202 is included after step S112 of FIG.
Specifically, the establishment of the crack detection condition is recognized, and after the current atmospheric pressure P is detected in step S112, it is determined whether or not the detected atmospheric pressure P is equal to or higher than the reference atmospheric pressure PO (step). S202). The reference atmospheric pressure P0 is the maximum atmospheric pressure in a range in which the detected reverse current ratio I1 / I2 is estimated to be equal to or higher than the determination value even if it is a normal sensor. Yes. If it is determined in step S202 that the atmospheric pressure P is smaller than the reference atmospheric pressure PO, it may be impossible to accurately detect the presence or absence of a crack. Therefore, the current crack detection is prohibited and this process ends.
On the other hand, if it is determined in step S202 that the atmospheric pressure P ≧ the reference atmospheric pressure P0, a reverse voltage is applied in subsequent steps S114 to S124, and the reverse current ratio is calculated based on the detected reverse currents I1 and I2. Is done. Thereafter, the reverse current ratio I1 / I2 is corrected according to the atmospheric pressure to obtain the corrected reverse current ratio * I1 / I2 (S126), and in step S128, the corrected reverse current ratio * I1 / I2> determination value. If recognized, it is determined that a crack has occurred (S132). On the other hand, if it is determined that the reverse current ratio I1 / I2 ≦ the determination value, the air-
As described above, in the second embodiment, detection of cracks is prohibited in a region where the atmospheric pressure is low and the reverse current ratio of the normal sensor exceeds the determination value. Thereby, since the crack detection can be performed only in the region where the crack determination of the air-fuel ratio sensor can be reliably performed, the presence or absence of the crack of the air-fuel ratio sensor can be determined more accurately.
For example, in the third embodiment, the “atmospheric pressure determination means” and the “reverse voltage application prohibition means” of the present invention are realized by executing step S202 of FIG.
In the second embodiment, the case where it is determined that the region is higher than the reference atmospheric pressure, and the crack is detected, the correction according to the atmospheric pressure is performed on the reverse current ratio. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and as described in another example of the first embodiment, the determination value may be set according to the atmospheric pressure. As described above, even in a low atmospheric pressure region, the presence or absence of a crack can be more accurately determined by performing correction according to the atmospheric pressure. In addition, for example, by setting the reference pressure PO low, it is possible to prohibit crack detection only in extremely low pressure areas where it is particularly difficult to determine whether the air-fuel ratio sensor is normal or abnormal, and to make a certain degree of accuracy. It is also possible to make a determination in consideration of the atmospheric pressure.
However, in the second embodiment, it is possible to prohibit crack detection in a low pressure region where the reverse current ratio between the normal sensor and the abnormal sensor is mixed. Accordingly, the crack may be determined as usual without performing correction or setting of the determination value according to the atmospheric pressure. Specifically, in this case, if it is recognized in step S202 that the atmospheric pressure P ≧ the reference atmospheric pressure PO, in this range, if the sensor is a normal sensor, the reverse current ratio is considered to be greater than or equal to the determination value. 11 is not performed, and the calculated reverse current ratio I1 / I2 is used as it is, and the reverse current ratio I1 / I2 is compared with the determination value in step S130 to determine whether or not there is a crack. Is called.
The system of the third embodiment has the same configuration as the system shown in FIGS. Further, the system of FIG. 12 performs the same control as the system of the first embodiment except that the reverse current is not detected for a short time immediately after the start of the reverse voltage application.
FIG. 12 is a diagram for illustrating the control executed by the third embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 12, regardless of whether the air-
After such a large negative current flows for a short time, the output of the air-
However, in order to more accurately determine the presence or absence of cracks in the air-
Here, the mask period is 1. 1. The negative large current is sufficiently converged. The period is such that the current at the time of cracking does not decrease too much, and the period is satisfied, and is determined for each air-
FIG. 13 is a flowchart for illustrating a control routine executed by the system in the third embodiment of the present invention. The routine of FIG. 13 is the same as the routine of FIG. 9 except that the process of step S302 is included after step S115. Specifically, in the routine of FIG. 13, after application of the reverse voltage is started in step S114, counting of elapsed time (application time) from the start of application of the reverse voltage is started in step S115. Thereafter, in step S302, it is determined whether or not the mask period has elapsed since the reverse voltage application started. When the elapse of the mask period is not recognized in step S302, the determination in step S302 is repeatedly performed until the elapse of the mask period is recognized.
When the elapse of the mask period is recognized in step S302, the reverse current I1 is next detected (S116). Thereafter, when it is recognized that the reference elapsed time has elapsed after the reverse voltage application is started, the reverse current I2 is detected. Is done. Thereafter, according to steps S122 to S134, the reverse current ratio is calculated from the detected reverse currents I1 and I2, the reverse current ratio is corrected according to the atmospheric pressure, and the presence or absence of a crack in the air-fuel ratio sensor is determined.
As described above, in the third embodiment, detection of the reverse current used for crack detection is prohibited for a short time immediately after the start of reverse voltage application. As a result, erroneous determination can be prevented based on the negative large current immediately after application of the reverse voltage. Thereby, the presence or absence of a crack of the air-fuel ratio sensor can be determined with high accuracy.

For example, as described in another example of the first embodiment, the reverse current ratio is not corrected, and the present invention is applied and used for setting a determination value according to the atmospheric pressure. You can also Further, as described in the second embodiment, the present invention can also be applied to control for detecting cracks only when the detected atmospheric pressure is equal to or higher than the reference atmospheric pressure.
