Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an image reading apparatus having a function of correcting a light amount change due to heat generated by an illumination lamp during reading, and an image forming apparatus including the image reading apparatus.
The invention described in Patent Document 1 is known as this type of technology. The present invention has been made for the purpose of adjusting the white level target value according to the lamp temperature at the time of white level adjustment and maximizing the dynamic range of the A / D converter. In an image reading apparatus that performs shading correction for correcting variations in sensitivity and illumination unevenness of a light source, a detection unit that detects a temperature of a lamp used for the light source, and a temperature of the lamp detected by the detection unit The light level calculation means for calculating the light quantity of the lamp, and the white level target value that is the target value for white correction in the shading correction is calculated based on the light quantity of the lamp calculated by the light quantity calculation means. Target value calculation means, and white correction in the shading correction is calculated by the target value calculation means It is characterized by being performed on the basis of the serial white level target value.
On the other hand, the reading method in the document reading apparatus includes a method called a flat bed method and a method called a sheet through method. Of these, the flatbed method is a method of reading a document placed on a contact glass by a traveling optical system, and the sheet-through method is a method of reading a document by moving it to a fixed optical system. It is. In many cases, an automatic document feeder (ADF) provided in an original reading apparatus has both functions, and an original is read by either method depending on the type of the original or a user's selection.
In addition, in order to perform the shading correction, a plate-like member that is referred to as a reference white plate (white reference plate) is provided as a reference for white correction. When performing shading correction, the reference white plate is read to obtain a white reference value. It is to be corrected.
However, when reading multiple sheets continuously, the reading level of the original document is lowered due to a short-term decrease in the amount of light due to the heat generated when the lamps are turned on for a continuous time.If shading correction is performed using the same shading data as the first, There may be a problem that the density of the last read original is different. On the other hand, the invention described in Patent Document 1 aims at maximizing the dynamic range, and is configured to perform white correction based on the white level target value calculated by the target value calculation means. The problem that the density of the first and last scanned originals was different could not be dealt with.
Accordingly, a problem to be solved by the present invention is to suppress fluctuations in read data caused by fluctuations in the light amount of the lamp.

In an image reading apparatus having an analog signal processing means provided and an A / D conversion means for converting the output from the analog signal processing means into a digital signal, the amount of light due to heat generated by the lamp is reduced when reading a document by intermittent shading. It is characterized by comprising correction means for detecting the fluctuation and correcting the fluctuation of the light quantity by gain adjustment by the gain adjustment means.

A sixth means is characterized in that, in the fifth means, the switch is turned on while the carriage is stationary.

It is characterized by.
In an eighth means, in any one of the first to seventh means, the partial pressure potential at the time of reading the first sheet and the data indicating the relationship between the partial pressure potential at the time of reading the first sheet and the reference white plate reading value. Ninth means, in any one of the first to eighth means, the gain adjustment of the nth sheet (n is an integer of 2 or more) is performed by dividing the potential at the time of reading the first sheet and the first sheet reading. In the embodiment described later, the photoelectric conversion element is in the
According to the present invention, fluctuations in read data caused by fluctuations in the light amount of the lamp can be suppressed.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

As shown in the figure, in the scanning operation of the reduction optical system, when reading the pressure plate, the first carriage (running body) 101 moves in the sub-scanning direction while reading reflected light from the original 103 as original information. The light is reflected by a mirror of the

アナログ処理ブロック120は、ラインクランプ回路121、サンプルホールド回路122、可変ゲインアンプ123、A/D変換器124、LVDS(low voltage differential signaling) I/F125から構成される。

In this embodiment, because of the intermittent shading, the reading operation of the reference
Gn=(W0/Wn)・G0 ・・・(1)
In addition to the first digital data, the
Gn = (W0 / Wn) · G0 (1)
The value corrected by the formula The corrected gain value is used when reading the nth original (step S114). This is performed by the reading operation for each sheet (step S115).
In the correspondence table, the light amount of the lamp to be used, the temperature characteristics, and the divided potential in the thermistor and the reference white plate reading value at each light amount are checked in advance and stored in the
If the digital data of the divided potential is equal to or greater than a certain threshold (or less than the threshold depending on the thermistor used), it is determined that the tube surface temperature of the
By processing in this way, even when a plurality of sheets are continuously read, the density of the first and last read originals can be matched even if the light amount of the
