Description

The present invention relates to a cleaning device and an image forming apparatus using the same, and more particularly to a cleaning device that enables pulverization of agglomerated toner scraped from a member to be cleaned by a cleaning blade, and an image forming apparatus using the same.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, in an image apparatus such as a copying machine, a printer, and a facsimile machine, an electrostatic latent image is formed on a photosensitive member as an image carrier based on image information by an exposure device, and the electrostatic latent image is developed by a developing device. The toner image is electrostatically transferred onto a transfer paper as a recording medium, and then the toner image is fixed on the transfer paper by a fixing device.
In this case, in order to remove toner, paper dust, foreign matters, etc. remaining on the photoreceptor after the transfer, a cleaning device provided with a cleaning blade around the photoreceptor and scraping off the toner etc. by contacting the surface of the photoreceptor The toner removed by the cleaning blade is accommodated in the waste toner tank by the waste toner conveying means. In such a cleaning device, the toner scraped off by the cleaning blade stays in the vicinity of the cleaning blade before being transported to the waste toner tank by the waste toner transporting means, and the staying toner aggregates. As a result, the wax exuded from the agglomerated toner adheres to the photoconductor in a thin film shape due to the frictional heat of the photoconductor, making normal charging and exposure difficult in this portion, and the white image on the wax thin film fixing portion. Image defects such as the phenomenon of falling off occur.

It is possible to provide a cleaning device and an image forming apparatus using the same.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
[Example 1]
FIG. 1 is a diagram showing a schematic configuration of an image forming unit of an image forming apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention. In the figure, 1 is a drum-shaped photoconductor, 2 is toner 8 in the toner hopper 28 supplied by the conveying screw 7, toner 8 in the developing chamber 27 is supplied by the supply roller 3, and is regulated to a predetermined amount by the developing blade 29. The developing roller for supplying the toner 8 to the photosensitive member 1, 4 is a charging roller that is pressed against the photosensitive member 1 while being pressed by the pressure spring 5, and 6 is a toner image held on the photosensitive member 1 on the recording paper 14. A doctor blade for scraping residual toner or the like held on the photoreceptor 1 after being transferred into the collection chamber 26, 12 is a developing case, and 29 is an agitator for stirring the toner 8.

In the image forming apparatus according to this embodiment, the photosensitive member 1 rotating in the A direction is uniformly charged by the charging roller 4, and the surface of the photosensitive member 1 is irradiated with a laser beam 30 from an exposure device (not shown) based on the image data. An electrostatic latent image is formed on the toner image, and the electrostatic latent image is formed as a visible toner image by the toner 8 supplied from the developing roller 2. The toner image on the photoreceptor 1 formed in this way is transferred to the recording paper 14 fed from a paper feeding mechanism (not shown) by applying a bias voltage by the transfer roller 25. The recording paper 14 onto which the toner image has been transferred in this manner is heated and pressed by a fixing device (not shown) to fix the toner image, and is discharged by a discharge mechanism (not shown).
On the other hand, the photoconductor 1 having the toner image transferred to the recording paper 14 rotates and moves to the cleaning device 31 in a state where the toner remaining on the photoconductor 1 without being transferred to the recording paper 14 is held. The remaining toner 8 is scraped off from the surface of the photoreceptor 1 by the cleaning blade 6 and is collected in the collection chamber 26.

In the present embodiment, the cleaning device 31 has a feature. This point will be described in detail with reference to FIG. FIG. 2 is a diagram illustrating the relationship between the photosensitive member 1 and the cleaning device 31. Reference numeral 11 denotes a cleaning blade 6 that is attached to a case 13 that forms a collection chamber 26 for waste toner 16 and contacts the photosensitive member 1. Thus, a cleaning inlet seal 15 that suppresses the scattering of the waste toner 16 in the collection chamber 26, 15 is a transfer residual toner held on the photoreceptor 1, 10 is rotatably attached to the case 11, and is rotated by a drive motor (not shown). The spiral conveying means has a spiral rotating body 10a composed of a spiral coil for conveying the waste toner 16 to a waste toner tank (not shown).

In the cleaning device 31, the transfer residual toner 15 remaining on the photoreceptor 1 is scraped off by the cleaning blade 6 in contact with the photoreceptor 1 and is collected as waste toner 16 in the collection chamber 26. The collected waste toner 16 is further rotatably attached to the case 13 and is transported to a waste toner tank (not shown) by a spiral rotating body 10a of a spiral transport means 10 that is rotated by a drive motor (not shown). In this case, the waste toner 16 scraped off by the cleaning blade 6 is retained in the vicinity of the photoreceptor 1, and the toner particles adhere and aggregate due to the retention to generate aggregated toner. With this aggregated toner, the wax contained in the toner adheres to the surface of the photoreceptor 1, and a thin film of wax is formed on the surface of the photoreceptor 1. This thin film of wax passes through the cleaning blade 6 without being scraped off, and prevents charging of the photosensitive member 1 by the charging roller 4 in the next process, or prevents exposure by the exposure device, thereby providing an appropriate electrostatic for the photosensitive member 1. There is a case where a latent image is not formed and a white image is lost in a thin film portion of wax. Furthermore, when the aggregated toner is transported by the spiral transport unit, the transport path may be clogged by the aggregated toner, and an accident may occur in which the spiral rotating body 10a such as a spiral coil is damaged.

In the cleaning device 31 according to the present embodiment, in order to cope with such an accident, the mounting portion 17a of the swing member 17 is fixed to the inner wall of the case 13 in the vicinity of the spiral conveying means 10 by bonding or the like. The tip of 17 b is disposed at a position where it can come into contact with the outer peripheral portion 10 b of the spiral rotating body 10 a of the spiral conveying means 10. The swing member 17 is composed of an elastic sheet such as a polyester film having an L-shaped cross section having a mounting portion 17a fixed to the swing portion 17b by a support portion 17f. The swing portion 17b will be described later. When the side edges 17c and 17d are shifted by contact with the outer peripheral portion 10b of the spiral rotating body 10a and the contact is released, it can be restored to the original shape by the elastic force of the swinging portion 17b. Yes.

When the spiral conveying means 10 conveys the waste toner 16, as shown in FIGS. 3A, 3B and 3C, the spiral rotating body 10a of the spiral conveying means 10 rotates and the tip of the outer peripheral portion 10b is moved. The left side of the swinging part 17b of the swinging member 17 abuts on the outer peripheral part 10b of the spiral rotating body 10a (see FIG. 3 (a)), and the left side of the swinging part 17b moves accordingly. 17c is moved in the direction of arrow C (see FIG. 3B). Due to this movement, the waste toner 16 on the rocking portion 17b collapses and the aggregated toner is pulverized. When the outer peripheral portion 10b of the spiral rotating body 10a further moves, the contact between the outer peripheral portion 10b and the left side of the swinging portion 17b is released, and the swinging portion 17b returns to the original position by the elastic force of the swinging portion 17b. Oscillates (see FIG. 3C). Also at the time of this recovery, the waste toner on the rocking portion 17b collapses and the aggregated toner is pulverized.

As the spiral rotating body 10a of the spiral conveying means 10 rotates in this manner, the swinging portion 17b of the swinging member 17 swings, and the waste toner on the swinging portion 17b falls down and pulverizes the aggregated toner. In this case, if the rocking portion 17b is a solid flat sheet as in the conventional rocking member, when a large amount of waste toner 16 is supplied to the rocking portion 17b, the outer periphery of the spiral rotating body 10a. Not only does the swinging portion 17b in contact with the portion 10b increase in weight so that sufficient swinging force cannot be exerted, but also the swinging force applied to the aggregated toner to be pulverized is applied to other non-aggregated toners. Therefore, the aggregated toner cannot be efficiently pulverized.

Therefore, as shown in FIG. 4 and FIG. 5, at least the toner that has not been aggregated but not aggregated is allowed to pass through the swinging portion 17b of the swinging member 17 used in the cleaning device 31 according to this embodiment. A large number of through holes 17e that can be formed are formed in a mesh shape. In the swinging portion 17b in which a large number of mesh-shaped through holes 17e are formed, even if a large amount of waste toner 16 is supplied onto the swinging portion 17b, the toner that has not aggregated falls downward from the through holes 17e and remains as it is. It is conveyed by a spiral conveying means. On the other hand, the large agglomerated toner remains on the swinging portion 17b, and is appropriately pulverized by the swinging motion to be supplied as fine toner to the spiral conveying means. As a result, an excessive force does not act on the spiral conveying means, and the waste toner can be smoothly conveyed.

The size of the through hole formed in the swinging portion 17b of the swinging member 17 used in this embodiment is selected as appropriate, but it is selected in the range of 0.2 mm to 0.01 mm in terms of the inner diameter. preferable. Further, the width of the swinging portion 17b of the swinging member 17 may be within the interval of the outer peripheral portion 10b of the spiral rotating body 10a, and the material of the swinging member is 0.2 mm or less in addition to the above-described polyester sheet. A plastic sheet such as polycarbonate having a thickness or a metal elastic thin plate such as stainless steel having a thickness of 0.1 mm or less can also be used.
In the above-described embodiments, the cleaning device 31 according to the present invention has been described with respect to the photosensitive member 1 as a member to be cleaned. However, the cleaning device 31 can also be used as an intermediate transfer member of an image forming apparatus as a member to be cleaned.
Moreover, as a spiral rotary body, the screw feeder which attached the spiral fan to the rotating shaft other than the above-mentioned spiral coil may be sufficient.

[Example 2]
6-8 is a figure which shows other embodiment of the rocking | swiveling member used for the cleaning apparatus by this invention.
The swing member 17 according to the present embodiment includes a substrate sheet 171 having a first through hole 171a, first projecting portions 172a and 172b formed on the left and right sides, and a first through hole 171a of the substrate sheet 171. The first through-hole 171a and the second through-hole 172a formed at the same position and the sheet member 172 having the second protrusion 172d formed at one side of the through-hole 172c The rocking portion 17b is formed by joining the two through-holes 172c so as to coincide with each other.

As described above, when the first and second projecting portions 172a, 172b, and 172d are formed on the upper surface of the swinging portion 17b, the swinging portion 17b contacts the outer peripheral portion 10b of the spiral rotating body 10a. At the time of rocking, the aggregated toner supplied on the rocking part 17b collides with the first and second projecting parts 172a, 172b, 172d and promotes pulverization of the aggregated toner. In this case, it is sufficient that the heights of the first and second protrusions 172a, 172b, and 172d are substantially equal to the diameter of the aggregate toner name. Further, the substrate sheet 171 and the sheet member 172 may be formed of plastic and may be integrally formed instead of being bonded together. In this case, the attachment portion 17b can also be formed integrally with the substrate sheet 171 and the sheet member 172.
Further, the mounting portion 17a of the substrate sheet 171 is formed by bending the support portion 17f at a bending angle θ of 45 to 90 degrees, and as shown in FIG. 9, the tip of the swinging portion 17b is inclined so as to be lowered. When the attachment portion 17 a is attached to the case 13, there is an advantage that the waste toner 16 can be supplied more smoothly to the spiral conveying means 10.

[Example 3]
This embodiment is an improvement for improving the pulverization efficiency of the aggregated toner in addition to the swinging member 17 shown in the above-described embodiment 2, and its schematic configuration is shown in FIGS.
As shown in FIGS. 10 to 12, the swing member 17 is basically the same as that of the second embodiment described above, uses a substrate sheet 171 and a sheet member 172, and the upper row of the sheet members 172 has a first row. A third projecting portion 172e projecting downward is formed at a position facing the second projecting portion 172d of the second through hole 172c. The third protrusion 172e has an advantage that the aggregated toner falling from the through hole 171a can be finely pulverized by the swinging of the swinging member 17 described above.

[Example 4]
In the first embodiment described above, one swing member 17 is used. However, in this embodiment, a plurality of swing members 17 are spirally rotated as shown in FIGS. 13 (a) and 13 (b). It is arranged in parallel along the traveling direction B of the outer peripheral part 10b of the body 10a. In this case, 17A and 17B having different lengths from the support portion 17f to the tip of the swing portion 17b of the swing member 17 are alternately arranged with the outer peripheral portion 10b interposed therebetween (see FIG. 13A). When the swinging portions 17A and 17B are swung due to the contact between the outer peripheral portion 10b and the swinging portions 17A and 17B due to the rotation of the spiral rotating body 10a, the sides of the adjacent swinging portions 17A and 17B are displaced. The agglomerated toner is crushed more effectively by collision (see FIG. 13B).
In this case, as shown in FIG. 14, the swinging portions 17A and 17B are attached to the plate-like swinging holding member 23 at a predetermined interval, and the swinging holding member 23 is attached to the case 13 as shown in FIG. In such a case, there is an advantage that the swinging portions 17A and 17B can be securely attached at appropriate intervals on the swing holding member.
