Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a display device including display means having a plurality of display areas.
In recent years, the number of information displayed on vehicle display devices has increased, but dashboards on which display devices are installed are equipped with cabin air conditioners, airbags, etc. Tend to increase. For this reason, a display device capable of displaying a large amount of information in a limited space is desired.
For example, a pointer instrument is provided, and a liquid crystal panel that displays desired information is provided on the viewing side (viewer side) of the pointer instrument and at the center of rotation of the pointer, and at least part of the pointer of the pointer instrument is around the liquid crystal panel. There is a display device configured to be exposed to light (see Patent Document 1).
As a result, the display space of the display device is effectively used.
In this display device, a light emitting diode that transmits and illuminates a liquid crystal panel is mounted on a wiring board on which a rotating inner unit that rotates a pointer is mounted, and light emitted from the light emitting diode is guided to the liquid crystal panel by a light guide means. It is configured to transmit light. Since it is the structure which guides the light which a light emitting diode emits to a liquid crystal panel with a light guide means, it is not necessary to provide a light emitting diode in the rotation center side of a pointer | guide. Accordingly, the liquid crystal panel can be arranged on the viewing side (viewer side) of the pointer instrument and on the rotation center side of the pointer without complicating the structure of the pointer instrument.
In
Further, in order to guide the light emitted from the light emitting diodes to the display area of the liquid crystal panel, the light guide means has a complicated shape, and thus a plurality of corners are formed in the light guide means. Since this corner also emits edge light, edge light may be generated in a display area other than the boundary of the display area. The appearance of the display device also deteriorates due to edge light emission from the corners.
That is, the appearance of the display device deteriorates due to edge light emission by the corners including the end portions.
This problem is not limited to a display device provided with a liquid crystal panel on the viewing side of the pointer instrument and on the center of rotation of the pointer, and is not limited to a liquid crystal panel. For example, the same problem occurs even when a transparent plate having a plurality of indicators each formed as a symbol mark is individually transmitted and illuminated for each symbol mark or when a dial is individually transmitted and illuminated for each region. Arise. That is, this is a problem common to display devices having a plurality of display areas and a display unit that transmits and illuminates each display area.
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a display device in which edge light generated in a display area is reduced in display means that transmits and illuminates each display area.
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention employs the following technical means.

In this configuration, the translucent part extends from behind the boundary of the adjacent display area in one light guide means to the back outside of the entire display area, and the corner including the edge that emits edge light is fully displayed. It is provided so as not to be formed behind in the region. As a result, when a light-transmitting portion is not formed on one light guide means, one line-shaped edge light generated at the boundary by the end portion of one light guide means is displayed in the entire display area. In this configuration, the first reflecting portion is formed so as to cover the corner portion including the edge portion that is formed on the other light guide means and emits edge light from the display means side. Thereby, the edge light generated in the other light guide means is removed from the entire display area. As a result, it is possible to provide a display device in which edge light generated in the display area is further reduced in the display means that is transmissively illuminated for each display area.

The edge portion including the edge portion that emits light is formed so as to cover from the display means side, and is not formed in the translucent portion.
In this configuration, the first reflecting portion is formed so as to cover the corner portion including the edge portion that is formed on the other light guide means and emits edge light from the display means side. As a result, it is possible to provide a display device in which edge light generated in the display area is further reduced in the display means that is transmissively illuminated for each display area.

In the third modification, as shown in FIG. 9, the

In the present modification, the
In order to form the
Here, if the distance between the
The extension of the distance between the
In the
In the
The
Further, the present invention is not limited to the
As described above, the
In addition, in the light guides 13 and 14 that transmit and illuminate the
Accordingly, it is possible to provide a display device in which edge light generated in the display area is reduced in the display means that is transmitted and illuminated for each display area.
In the above example, the
Even in this case, the above-described effects can be obtained.
In the above-described embodiment and modification, the
In the above example, the
Further, the present invention is not limited to the above-described examples, and combinations thereof and other various modifications are conceivable.
