Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a color filter inspection apparatus and a color filter inspection method, and more particularly to generation of an image suitable for inspecting color unevenness.
Color filters used for liquid crystal displays, organic EL displays, etc. are made of a black matrix (BM) layer on a transparent substrate such as glass, red (R), green (G), and blue (B), which are the three primary colors of light. Each color layer (RGB layer) is formed, and has a structure in which colored layers of different colors are repeatedly arranged in a predetermined periodic pattern. The RGB layer is formed by applying each color ink by, for example, spin coating, die coating method or the like and then performing a patterning process by photolithography or applying by ink jet.
The color filter manufactured by the above method may cause color unevenness due to non-uniformity in the coating amount in the coating process and non-uniformity in the conditions in the drying process, so it is necessary to inspect the color unevenness.
For this reason, conventionally, a color image to be inspected is imaged with, for example, a monochrome camera to obtain a luminance image (monochrome image) that expresses light and dark, and color unevenness inspection is performed by visual inspection or image processing. I have been. In addition, in order to make it easy to inspect the unevenness of each of the RGB colored layers, a bandpass filter that mainly transmits light of a specific wavelength corresponding to any one of R, G, and B is attached and imaged with a CCD camera. By doing so, a monochromatic luminance image (monochrome image) for each RGB is also obtained (for example,
For example, in
However, the conventional method of imaging the color filter to be inspected through the bandpass filter for each RGB color is affected by the wavelength distribution on the light source side, the characteristics of the bandpass filter, the sensitivity on the imaging side, etc. There is a problem that it is difficult to obtain a highly accurate image. In addition, since each pixel of the color filter is a very small area, it is difficult to acquire a high-accuracy image for all the pixels if the entire color filter is imaged at once or for each line. There is also the problem of being.
Therefore, the present invention has been made to solve the above-described problem, and it is possible to obtain a luminance image with higher accuracy than the conventional one for each color of RGB even for the entire color filter (all pixels). Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a color filter inspection apparatus and a color filter inspection method capable of performing a color unevenness inspection with higher accuracy than before.
In order to achieve the above object, the color filter inspection apparatus according to the present invention is configured such that pixels colored in one of the three primary colors R, G, and B are alternately repeated in a periodic pattern on the transparent substrate surface. A color filter inspection apparatus configured to measure a spectral transmittance in each pixel and output spectral transmittance data, and to set a selected wavelength band for each RGB A selected wavelength band setting unit; a transmittance representative value calculating unit that calculates a representative value of the spectral transmittance within the selected wavelength band of each pixel based on the set selected wavelength band and the spectral transmittance data; A transmittance image data generating unit that generates transmittance image data for each of RGB for the entire inspection target region of the color filter based on the calculated transmittance representative value of each pixel; and the image data generating unit Characterized by comprising an image data output unit for outputting the transmission picture data which has been respectively produced more for each RGB to the outside.
The color filter inspection method of the present invention is a color in which pixels colored in one of the three primary colors R, G, and B are alternately arranged in a periodic pattern on a transparent substrate surface. A method for inspecting a filter, wherein a selected wavelength band setting step for setting a selected wavelength band for each of RGB, a step of measuring spectral transmittance in each pixel and outputting spectral transmittance data, and the set Based on the selected wavelength band and the spectral transmittance data, a step of calculating a representative value of the spectral transmittance within the selected wavelength band of each pixel and storing it in a storage device, and on the basis of each stored transmittance representative value Generating transmittance image data for each RGB and storing them in a storage device, and outputting each of the transmittance image data stored in the storage device to the outside. And butterflies.
In this specification, a pixel (also referred to as “picture element”) refers to a colored region colored in any one of red (R), green (G), and blue (B). Pixels colored in red are also referred to as R pixels, pixels colored in green are also referred to as G pixels, and pixels colored in blue are also referred to as B pixels.
As described above, according to the present invention, the spectral transmittance within a pixel is measured for all the pixels to be inspected, and a transmittance image for each RGB is created based on the transmittance. It is possible to provide a color filter inspection apparatus and a color filter inspection method that can be obtained for each color of RGB, and that can perform color unevenness inspection with higher accuracy than before.
The best mode for carrying out the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.

FIG. 3 is a diagram visually showing measurement spots measured by the color filter inspection apparatus. Further, FIG. 4 shows the scanning trajectory of the color filter by the optical system of the color filter inspection apparatus. It is a figure shown typically. FIG. 5 is a diagram showing in detail the movement locus of the measurement spot in FIG.
First, the configuration of the
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the color
The
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the
The gantry
The
As shown in FIG. 2, the
The light
Thereby, when the transmitted light from the
The
The
That is, the
In addition, the
Here, for example, when the pixel aperture width is 200 μm, the measurement range (distance from the start to the end of measurement) is 100 mm, the measurement spot diameter is 100 μm, the sampling time is 20 ms, and the moving speed of the
In addition, the
Next, the configuration and function of the
FIG. 7 is a block diagram functionally illustrating an example of the configuration of the
FIG. 8 is a diagram conceptually illustrating a method for generating transmittance image data for each RGB color type (for each R, G, and B) and a data flow. In FIG. 8, the symbols R11, R21, and R31 indicate the same pixel data, indicating that they correspond to each other. Similarly, codes R12, R22, and R32 correspond, codes G11, G21, and G31 correspond, codes G12, G22, and G32 correspond, codes B11, B21, and B31 correspond, and codes B12 and B22 and B32 correspond to each other.
As shown in FIG. 8, the
The three graphs shown in a reduced size in the upper right of FIG. 8 are graphs showing examples of spectral transmittance data received from the
The selected wavelength band is a wavelength range that is arbitrarily selected and set in advance for each RGB (for each color type) in order to handle only the transmittance within the wavelength range as the transmittance data of the color. For example, in the case of R (red), the selected wavelength band is 630 to 670 mm as shown by a broken line in FIG. 9, and in the case of G (green), it is 510 to 550 mm as shown by a broken line in FIG. In the case of B (blue), as shown by a broken line in FIG. According to the present embodiment, since the wavelength band corresponding to each color can be arbitrarily set by the selection wavelength
More specifically, the transmittance representative
For example, as indicated by reference numeral R11 in FIG. 8, in the case of an R pixel colored red (R) on the
As shown in FIG. 8, the transmittance image
As shown in FIG. 8, the R transmittance image data, the G transmittance image data, and the B transmittance image data are classified into red, green, and blue, and the relative arrangement of each pixel on the
The transmittance image data for each RGB generated as described above (R transmittance image data, G transmittance image data, B transmittance image data) is arbitrarily selected and set corresponding to the RGB color type. Since the values of transmittance in the wavelength band are arranged, each is image data that can be handled as a luminance image (also referred to as a monochrome image, a gray scale image, or the like) that expresses the brightness and darkness of each color in gradation.
Therefore, for example, when the R transmittance image data is output to the display device (CRT) of the
Next, a case where the transmittance image data generated by the transmittance image
As shown in FIG. 12, the color
According to the color
Note that the color unevenness inspection unit is not limited to the color
Next, a method for inspecting the
First, the spot size of the
Based on this spectral transmittance data, as described above, the transmittance representative
When the measurement is completed for all the pixels in the inspection target region (Yes in S6), as shown in FIGS. 8 and 13, the transmittance image
Thereafter, if necessary, for example, R transmittance image data is read from the
As described above, the
According to the color
According to the present embodiment, when processing the measured spectral transmittance data, since the transmittance of the band selected for each RGB is used, it is less accurate than using chromaticity. Is measured with microspectroscopic light, it is sufficient compared to the method of inspecting by imaging with a camera without using microspectroscopic light or the method of selectively measuring a part of pixels and representing the entire color filter. The color filter can be inspected with high accuracy.
Therefore, an image with higher accuracy than that of the conventional color filter can be obtained for one color filter as a whole with respect to each color of RGB, so that color unevenness inspection with higher accuracy than in the past can be performed. An inspection apparatus and a color filter inspection method can be provided.
Although the present invention has been specifically described above by the embodiments, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various modifications can be made without departing from the scope of the invention. That is, although the light detection element portion of the
Further, in the present embodiment, it has been described that the transmittance representative value of each pixel in the selected wavelength band is sequentially calculated while measuring each pixel sequentially. However, measurement has been completed for all the pixels in the inspection target region. Therefore, the transmittance representative value of each pixel may be calculated collectively for all the pixels. In this case, the selection wavelength band for each RGB may be set immediately before calculating the transmittance representative value.
