Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an ink jet printer including a paper magazine storing recording paper, a printing unit that forms an image on the recording paper drawn from the paper magazine, and a housing that stores at least the printing unit.
As this type of inkjet printer, there is Patent Document 1 shown below as prior art document information related to the present invention. In the ink jet printer described in Patent Document 1, a recording paper storage unit (paper magazine), a printing unit, a conveyance unit that conveys the recording paper from the storage unit to the printing unit, and the like are housed in a housing. An air conditioning unit for air conditioning the inside of the housing is disposed adjacent to the rear surface of the housing. Therefore, even when the inkjet printer is an inkjet printer that is easily exposed to sunlight, wind and rain, and is used in facilities such as outdoors where air conditioning equipment is not equipped, the use of an air conditioning unit allows the temperature and humidity inside the housing to be allowed. Since it can be maintained within the range, it is said that high-quality prints can be created over a long period of time while suppressing ink deterioration.
By the way, when using a glossy ink jet printer recording paper in which a porous ink receiving layer is formed on the surface side of a base having a resin coat film on both sides, the ink jet printer is placed in a general indoor facility. Humidity is the most important process for recording paper before it is printed at the printing section, because if the recording paper is excessively dried due to environmental conditions, the ink receiving layer will crack and the image quality will be affected. In many cases, dehumidification is not always necessary. When applied to such a case, the inkjet printer described in Patent Document 1 includes an air conditioning unit composed of expensive equipment including a dehumidifier, a humidifier, a heater, and a cooler. There was a problem of excessively increasing the cost.
In view of the above-described drawbacks of the conventional ink jet printers exemplified above, the object of the present invention is to reduce the cost of the ink receiving layer while appropriately humidifying the recording paper in the housing and suppressing cracking of the ink receiving layer. It is providing the inkjet printer which can be manufactured by this.

With this configuration, a high transpiration effect can be obtained by the porous water-absorbing body having a large surface area per unit volume, as compared with a configuration that depends only on transpiration from the water surface stored in the container. Moreover, it becomes possible to change a transpiration | evaporation capability suitably by adjusting the moisture content of a porous water absorbing body.
Another feature of the present invention is that the humidifier includes a porous water absorbent housed in the water holding container, a water supply mechanism for holding the porous water absorbent body in a water absorbent state, and a surface of the porous water absorbent body. The transpiration adjusting means is composed of a shielding area adjusting mechanism for adjusting a shielding area by the shielding means.
With this configuration, a high transpiration effect can be obtained by the porous water-absorbing body having a large surface area per unit volume, as compared with a configuration that depends only on transpiration from the water surface stored in the container. Moreover, it is possible to appropriately change the transpiration capacity by shielding a part of the surface of the porous water absorbing body from the surrounding air.
Another feature of the present invention is that the humidifier includes a porous water absorbent housed in the water holding container, a water supply mechanism for holding the porous water absorbent body in a water absorbent state, and a surface of the porous water absorbent body. And the transpiration control means is composed of an air volume adjusting mechanism for changing the air volume by the air blowing mechanism.

With this configuration, the water retaining container can be arranged using a part of the area occupied by the waste ink tank, which is an essential component for a normal inkjet printer, regardless of the presence or absence of the humidifying means. Therefore, it is not necessary to increase the size of the ink jet printer in order to provide the water holding container.

[Flushing mechanism]
By the way, in an ink jet printer capable of printing a color image, the frequency of ink ejection varies depending on the color of the ink, and it is difficult to supply new ink near the opening of the ejection nozzle where the frequency of ink ejection is low. As a result, nozzle clogging is likely to occur. Therefore, as a countermeasure, a flushing mechanism is provided that performs a flushing operation for forcibly ejecting a large amount of ink from each ejection nozzle regardless of image formation and pushing out the ink with increased viscosity near the opening of the ejection nozzle. Yes. This flushing operation is performed at an appropriate time interval during printing.

Since the humidifying capacity can be controlled by adjusting the water content of the porous water absorbent 182, the transpiration control means used here comprises a water content adjusting mechanism for changing the water content of the porous water absorbent 182 by the

<2> The humidifying unit shown in FIG. 7 is provided with a constant space between the
