このクランプ補助部材100は、図7に示されるように、スローアウェイ式正面フライス500のチップ取付座50にシート400を着座させた後、シートに貫通形成された貫通穴を介して、その外径ねじ部12をねじ穴53に螺入することによりチップ取付座に固着されて使用される。

このような構成によれば、ねじ穴53に螺合されたクランプ補助部材100の頭部13をスローアウェイチップ300の取付穴30に嵌挿させるとともに、その内径ねじ部11に締付ねじ200を螺入することで、締付ねじ200の頭部が、C1からC2の方向に向かって弾性変形しながら押し当てられることになり、スローアウェイチップ300が、チップ取付座50の底面側51に押圧されつつ壁面側52に引き込まれるようにして、工具本体500に固定されることになる。そのため、スローアウェイチップ300とチップ取付座50との密着性が向上し、切削加工に伴うびびり振動等の抑制が可能となり、スローアウェイチップ300の刃先の欠損等の防止を図ることができる。

また、前記実施例においては、スローアウェイチップ300として略四角形の平板状をなすものを採用したが、これに代えて三角形、菱形等の略多角形や円形の平板状のスローアウェイチップを採用してもよく、ネガティブチップでもポジティブチップでもよい。
また、前記実施例におけるチップ取付状態として、スローアウェイチップ300をシート400の上に載置してチップ取付座に固着する場合を図示したが、このような構成に限定されるものではなく、シート400を介さず、直接スローアウェイチップ300をチップ取付座に載置して固着するようにしてもよい。

この本体の内周面に形成される、締付ねじに螺合する内径ねじ部と、
この内径ねじ部と前記締付ねじが螺合することによりスローアウェイチップに貫通形成された取付穴に当接される、前記本体の一端に形成される切欠部を有する頭部と、
この頭部と反対側における前記本体の外周面に形成され、スローアウェイ式切削工具のチップ取付座に穿設されたねじ穴に螺合する外径ねじ部と
を有するクランプ補助部材。
