Description

The present invention relates to a face collation device for authenticating a person in control of a control device such as an entrance / exit management device, an entrance door, or a vending machine.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, there has been known a face collation apparatus that collates an input image obtained by capturing a face of a person to be authenticated with a CCD (Charge Coupled Device) camera or the like and a stored image stored in advance to authenticate the identity of the person. ing.

For example, Patent Literature 1 includes an illumination device for illuminating the face of a person to be authenticated, captures the face of a person photographed with a video camera as an input image, and collates it with a stored image stored in advance. A face matching device that performs face authentication is disclosed.

Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 10-134188

However, when this conventional technology is used, the light emitted from the lighting device is weak compared to sunlight. For example, when a face matching device is installed outdoors, shadows appear on the face when direct sunlight hits a human face. As a result, even if the person himself / herself is the person himself / herself, there is a problem that the difference from the stored image is increased and the authentication rate is remarkably lowered. Although there is a need to install the face collation device outdoors or in places where external light is shining, such a decrease in the authentication rate is unavoidable, so the installation location of the face collation device is limited.

For this reason, it is conceivable that a lamp having an illuminance close to sunlight, such as strobe light, is used for such an illumination device to emit light during authentication. By doing so, shadows formed on the face by sunlight can be erased to some extent, but if the sunlight is very strong, a sufficient authentication rate cannot be obtained.

Moreover, in the face collation apparatus provided with such an illumination device that emits strong light, not only does the person who is the subject of authentication feel uncomfortable, but also the light leaks to passers-by, etc. The problem that the surrounding environment deteriorates due to the emitted light is newly generated.

The present invention has been made in view of the above, and even when the apparatus is installed outdoors or in a place where external light shines, the person to be imaged is guided to an appropriate shooting position to display an appropriate face image. An object of the present invention is to obtain a face collation apparatus that can take a picture and can perform face authentication with high accuracy.

In order to solve the above-described problems and achieve the object, the present invention provides a face collation apparatus that performs personal authentication by collating a face image stored in advance with a face image of the photographed person. An image capturing unit that captures an image, a light direction detection unit that detects a direction of the brightest light in front of the image capturing unit, and the subject to stand in the light direction based on the detected light direction Guidance means for guiding in this manner.

The face collation apparatus according to the present invention can guide a subject to an appropriate shooting position and shoot an appropriate face image, and has an effect that face authentication can be performed with high accuracy.

Embodiments of a face collation apparatus according to the present invention will be described below in detail with reference to the drawings. Note that the present invention is not limited to the embodiments.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing an external appearance of an embodiment of a face matching device according to the present invention, FIG. 2 is a schematic diagram showing a configuration of a control system of the face matching device, and FIG. FIG. 3-2 is a plan view showing a case where a person is photographed while standing in front of the face matching device, and FIG. FIG. 4A is a perspective view of the light direction detecting unit, FIG. 4B is a plan view of the light direction detecting unit, and FIG. 5 is a control flowchart of face matching by the control unit.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the face matching device 90 according to the present embodiment is provided at the height position of the face of the person to be photographed 2 on the casing 1 formed in the shape of a quadrangular prism and the front surface 1 a of the casing 1. The window 1b, the camera 3 as the photographing means installed in the casing 1 behind the window 1b, the light direction detecting means 4 installed in the upper part of the casing 1, and the window 1b. Standing direction detecting means 5 installed on the side for detecting the standing direction of the subject 2, display means 6 installed on the lower side of the standing direction detecting means 5 for displaying a photographed face image and the like, and display means 6, a guide unit 7 installed under the guide unit 6 for guiding the standing position to the subject 2, a card reader 8 installed under the guide unit 7 for reading information of an identification card such as an IC card, and a face matching device 90. Operation means 9 for inputting the ID number, password, etc., as the identification information The face image database 10 comprising a hard disk or the like as a face image storing means for storing the face image data, and a control means 20 such as a camera 3 face image database 10 is connected.

In the face image database 10, face image data such as a registrant's face image and facial feature amount are stored (stored) in advance in association with the identification information, password, and the like.

The control unit 20 controls the guide unit 7, the display unit 6, the camera 3, the face image database 10, and the like based on input signals from the operation unit 9, the light direction detection unit 4, the standing direction detection unit 5, and the card reader 8. Then, the face image data including face image shooting and face feature amount creation is collated with face image data stored in the face image database 10 in advance, and a determination signal as to whether or not the person is the person is transmitted. The data is transmitted to a control device such as an entrance / exit management device, an entrance automatic door, or a vending machine via the interface 12.

As shown in FIG. 3A, when the face matching device 90 is installed outdoors or near a window and the light source 30 such as the sun or outdoor light is located behind the subject 2, or at night, cloudy or rainy Thus, when there is no directional light, an appropriate face image with uniform brightness can be obtained by photographing the subject 2 with the camera 3.

As shown in FIG. 3-2, when the light source 30 is located obliquely in front of the face matching device 90 and a subject 2 standing in front of the face matching device 90 is photographed as indicated by a solid line, a shadow is produced on the face image. As a result, a face image suitable for collation cannot be obtained. Therefore, the face collation apparatus 90 of the present embodiment guides the person to be photographed 2 to stand in the same direction as the light source 30 with respect to the face collation apparatus 90 as indicated by a chain line, and the person to be photographed 2 The camera shoots after detecting that it has stood in the same direction as 30.

As shown in FIGS. 4A and 4B, the light direction detection unit 4 that detects the direction of the brightest light ahead of the camera 3 (the direction of the light source 30) is installed on the front surface 1 a of the housing 1 and is vertically long. A slit plate 4a having a slit 4b and eight vertically long photosensors (solar cell, CCD, illuminance sensor, etc.) 4 C1 arranged in a “U” shape behind the slit plate 4a in the housing 1 ~ 4 It is composed of C8 . The optical sensors 4 C1 to 4 C8 may be arranged in a semicircular shape instead of the “U” shape.

As shown in FIG. 4B, when the light source 30 is positioned at a shallow angle on the right side when viewed from the face matching device 90 side, the light from the light source 30 enters the optical sensor 4 C1 through the longitudinal slit 4b. The optical sensor 4 C1 generates a higher voltage than the other optical sensors. As the light source 30 moves from the right side to the left side, the photosensor generating a high voltage moves from 4 C1 to 4 C8, and detects the photosensor generating the high voltage, thereby detecting the direction of the light source 30. be able to.

For example, when the optical sensor 4 C6 generates a high voltage, it can be seen that the light source 30 is positioned in the direction indicated by the chain line in FIG. The vertical lengths of the optical sensors 4 C1 to 4 C8 are formed longer than the length of the vertical slit 4b so that light can be detected even when the light source 30 moves up and down as the light source 30 moves left and right. Yes.

As the camera 3 as a photographing means for photographing the face image of the person 2 to be photographed, a CCD camera or a digital video camera with a turning mechanism of approximately 180 ° is used. However, if a wide-angle camera such as a 180 ° camera is used, a turning mechanism is unnecessary.

An optical flasher 7 as a guide means for guiding the subject 2 to stand in the brightest light direction includes a semicircular plate-like mounting base 7a installed on the front surface 1a of the housing 1, and a mounting base 7a. It is composed of eight LEDs 7 C1 to 7-C8 Metropolitan disposed on the outer periphery of the. The LEDs 7 C1 to 7 C8 are electrically related to the optical sensors 4 C1 to 4 C8 via the control unit 20, respectively. For example, when the optical sensor 4 C2 receives a light from the light source 30 and generates a high voltage. The LED 7 C2 installed in the direction of the light source 30 is turned on, and the subject 2 is guided to stand in a direction position facing the LED 7 C2 , that is, a direction position where the light source 30 is located.

Further, based on the signals from the optical sensors 4 C1 to 4 C8 , the control unit 20 controls the turning mechanism of the camera 3 to direct the camera 3 toward the light source 30. Since the camera 3 faces the direction of the light source 30, the camera 3 can be substituted for the light flasher 7 by guiding the subject 2 to stand facing the lens of the camera 3. In this way, the light flasher 7 becomes unnecessary.

The standing direction detecting means 5 for detecting the direction in which the subject 2 is guided by the guiding means 7 includes an infrared light emitting part and a light receiving part (or an ultrasonic wave oscillating part and a vibration receiving part) with a rotation mechanism of approximately 180 °. And receiving infrared rays (ultrasonic waves) forward while reciprocating approximately 180 °, and receiving (receiving) infrared rays (ultrasound) reflected from the subject 2 by a light receiving portion (vibrating portion). The direction in which the subject 2 stands is detected from the turning angle at which the (vibration receiving unit) receives (receives) reflected light (reflected ultrasonic waves). Since the turning angle at which the light receiving unit receives the reflected infrared light has a width depending on the lateral width of the subject, the center value of the received turning angle width is set as the standing direction.

The display means 6 is composed of a liquid crystal display device or the like, and the time, “Please insert the card into the card reader and enter the password.”, “40 cm toward the camera in the direction of the lamp lit below. Please stand up "," Stand 40cm away from the front of the camera lens "," Please stand still ", etc., taken face images and face verification results, etc. Is displayed.

The card reader 8 reads the information of the identification card of the person inserted by the photographed person 2 and stores the face of the photographed person 2 based on the information of the identification card from the face image database 10 as the face image storage means. Call image data.

Next, with reference to FIG. 5, a face collation procedure under the control of the control means 20 including a CPU and a memory storing a control program will be described. When the operation unit 9 is operated to activate the face collation device 90, the control unit 20 detects the brightest light direction ahead of the camera 3 based on the signal from the light direction detection unit 4, and the display unit. 6, the guidance text “Please insert the card into the card reader and enter your PIN” is displayed. (Step 1).

When the personal identification number is input, the control means 20 turns on the LED located in the direction of the brightest light of the light flasher 7 serving as the guide means, turns the camera 3 in the same direction, and displays the display means 6. Then, a guidance sentence is displayed ("Stand 40cm away from the camera in the direction of the lamp lit below") (Step 2).

Next, the control means 20 turns the standing direction detection means 5 by 180 ° to detect the standing direction (position) of the person to be photographed 2 (step 3), and the person to be photographed 2 is in the brightest light direction. It is determined whether or not the user is standing (step 4). If step 4 is negative, the process returns to step 3, and step 3 → step 4 is repeated. If step 4 is affirmed, the display means 6 displays "Please stand still at that position."

In step 5, the face image is photographed by operating the camera 3, face image data including the facial feature amount is created, stored in the memory of the control means 20, and the photographed face image is displayed on the display means 6. Let

Next, in step 6, the face image data stored in advance of the subject 2 is called from the face image database 10 based on the identification card information input from the card reader 8, and the face image data created in step 5 Collation is performed to determine whether the face image data match.

If the result of step 6 is negative, the display means 6 is displayed (step 7) as “It does not match the stored face image and is not recognized as the person.” If the result is affirmative, “the stored face image and "I agree with the person because they match." Is displayed (step 8), and a signal for determining whether or not the person is is controlled via the communication interface 12 to the entrance / exit management device, entrance door, vending machine, etc. The information is transmitted to the apparatus (step 9), and the face matching operation is completed.

In the above embodiment, the face image data stored in the photographed person 2 is called from the face image database 10 based on the information of the identification card input from the card reader 8. 8, the photographed face image data of the photographed person is compared with all the face image data stored in the face image storage means to determine whether the photographed person is stored. You may make it discriminate | determine.

Further, although the face image database 10 is used as the face image storage means, if the stored face image data is stored in the identification card, the identification card can be used as the face image storage means. Further, the face image data can be collated only as a face image without using the face feature data.
