Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a developing device, a process cartridge, and an image forming apparatus including the same, which are applied to an image forming apparatus including a copying machine, a printer, a facsimile machine, or a multi-function machine in which these are arbitrarily combined. The present invention relates to a full-color developing device, a process cartridge, and an image forming apparatus of a type in which an intermediate transfer body or a recording medium onto which an unfixed toner image is transferred passes.
In an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, a developing device is disposed adjacent to a photosensitive drum as a latent image carrier. The developing device includes, for example, a developer agitating / conveying member, for example, two parallel agitating screws, a developing roller as a developer carrying member, and a developer supplied to the developing roller in a developing case that is a developing container. A layer thickness regulating member for defining the thickness of the toner is provided, and as the developer, a one-component developer composed only of toner or a two-component developer composed of toner and carrier is applied.
In such a developing apparatus, by rotating the stirring screw, the developer is stirred and conveyed to adhere to the developing roller, and the development carried on the surface of the developing roller at the layer thickness regulation position as the developing roller rotates. The layer thickness of the agent is regulated by, for example, a doctor blade. The developer whose layer thickness has been regulated is transferred and supplied to the opposing photosensitive drum by the action of an electric field formed by applying a bias voltage to the developing roller, and the electrostatic latent image on the surface of the photosensitive drum is visualized. .
Incidentally, in recent years, image forming apparatuses equipped with this type of developing device have been improved toward higher image quality and higher speed. Accordingly, in the developing device, in order to stably supply the developer to the developing roller, it is indispensable to stir and transport the developer at high speed. When the speed of stirring and transport of the developer is increased, the developer may generate heat due to friction between the developers or between the developer and the doctor blade, for example, at a layer thickness regulation position. In particular, in the case of using a two-component developer, it is necessary to rotate the stirring screw at a high speed and to stir and transport the developer at a high speed. The increase is increased, the developing device becomes high temperature, which causes problems such as softening and fixing of the developer, and image quality may be deteriorated. In addition, a part of the toner of the toner image once transferred to the intermediate transfer member or the recording medium may be scattered to cause an image defect.
As a conventional technique for improving such problems, for example, Patent Document 1 discloses a developing device developed to prevent the temperature of a developer from rising due to frictional heat and the developing device from becoming high temperature. The developer carrying member provided in the developing container is rotated, the developer carrying member carries the developer in the developing container, and the layer thickness of the developer carried by the developer carrying layer is layered at the layer thickness regulating position. In the developing device for transporting the developer after the layer thickness regulation after being regulated by the thickness regulating member and transferring it to the latent image carrier, and visualizing the electrostatic latent image on the latent image carrier, A developing device is disclosed that is in contact with the developer in the developer container and is provided with a high heat conductive member that contacts the layer thickness regulating member at a position upstream of the layer thickness regulating position in the rotation direction of the developer carrier. ing.
Further, Patent Document 2 discloses an apparatus developed for the purpose of preventing the transfer material from being contaminated by scattered toner, and in an electrophotographic image forming apparatus using magnetic toner as a developer, image transfer after development. An electrophotographic image forming apparatus in which a magnet is provided in a case portion adjacent to the surface of the previous image carrier is disclosed.
Further,
However, in the above prior art, toner that forms an unfixed toner image transferred to the intermediate transfer member or the recording medium is directed toward the charged developer storage container, and the toner on the intermediate transfer member or the recording medium is adhered. In addition to defects in the image, there is a problem that a large amount of toner adheres to the developer container over time, and cleaning time during maintenance increases.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a diagram showing a schematic configuration of a color copying machine as an image forming apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention.
In FIG. 1, the color copying machine includes a copying machine

In the present embodiment, it is preferable to provide a cooling means for cooling the developing
In this embodiment, the developing device applied to the image forming apparatus provided with the intermediate transfer member has been described. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and as shown in FIG. The present invention can also be applied to an apparatus that directly transfers the toner image on the

FIG. 9 is an explanatory view showing another modification of the developing device according to the present invention. 9, this apparatus differs from the apparatus shown in FIG. 3 in that the developing bias −550 V is once lowered to −200 V by the
