Description
The present invention relates to a speaker that generates acoustic vibration, and more particularly to a piezoelectric vibration unit and a panel speaker that use a piezoelectric element suitable for a panel speaker that generates acoustic vibration by vibrating a panel, a housing, and the like.
Panel speakers that generate acoustic vibrations by vibrating panels and housings use piezoelectric phenomena of piezoelectric ceramics in addition to devices that use electromagnetic force as the driving source for vibrations, and generate mechanical bending vibrations. A generated piezoelectric bimorph element is used. A piezoelectric bimorph element has a structure in which two plate-shaped piezoelectric ceramic plates are directly or sandwiched between plate-shaped elastic plates, and one of the two bonded piezoelectric ceramic plates is stretched. It is a device in which mechanical bending vibration is generated by applying a voltage so as to contract. This piezoelectric bimorph element has a small structure and can easily design the resonance frequency of the piezoelectric bimorph element in the audible sound range, so that a large amplitude and generative force can be obtained in the audible sound range. Suitable as
FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of a conventional panel speaker. A conventional panel speaker 1 shown in FIG. 1 has a structure in which a central portion of a disk-like piezoelectric bimorph element 4 is supported and fixed to an
FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of a conventional piezoelectric vibration unit. The
In any of the above configurations, the vibration of the piezoelectric bimorph element is accompanied by the movement of the center of gravity, and as a result, an inertial force is generated in the support portion. This inertial force is the sum of the inertial forces generated in the direction opposite to the acceleration, which is a value obtained by multiplying the acceleration of each mass point by the mass, and serves as a driving source for the speaker. As a driving source of the speaker, in addition to the piezoelectric bimorph element, a piezoelectric unimorph element that joins one plate-shaped piezoelectric ceramic plate to a plate-shaped elastic plate is also used.
The piezoelectric bimorph element or piezoelectric unimorph element can be supported as a cantilever structure in addition to the structure that supports the center or center of the piezoelectric bimorph element or piezoelectric unimorph element when the piezoelectric bimorph element or piezoelectric unimorph element is rectangular. is there. Even in the cantilever shape, the inertial force generated at the supporting point acts on the junction point with the vibrating body such as a panel or a case to become a driving source, and the vibrating body radiates sound waves in the air. It becomes a speaker. Further, since the sound output as a loudspeaker increases as the generated force of the piezoelectric bimorph element increases, a proposal has also been made to use a plurality of the piezoelectric bimorph elements stacked as necessary.
FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of a conventional piezoelectric vibration unit. The
Due to the miniaturization and thinning of cellular phones and portable terminals, it is necessary to cope with the miniaturization and thinning of the speakers used therefor. Conventionally used electromagnetic speakers have structural limitations, and there is a limit to further miniaturization and thickness reduction. For this reason, as described above, attempts are made to further reduce the size and thickness by using the piezoelectric bimorph element or the piezoelectric unimorph element to vibrate the panel itself of the display unit of the mobile phone or the portable terminal to make the speaker. ing. However, the above-described conventional piezoelectric vibration unit has a problem in that it does not satisfy the performance required by a mobile phone, a portable terminal, etc. in terms of acoustic performance and shape.
For example, the panel speaker and the piezoelectric vibration unit having the structure shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 have a problem that sound pressure cannot be sufficiently obtained. In order to improve the sound pressure performance shown in FIG. A piezoelectric vibration unit having a structure using a piezoelectric bimorph element has a problem that the shape becomes large.
A piezoelectric vibration unit having a structure in which a plurality of piezoelectric bimorph elements are stacked requires a space larger than the maximum amplitude of the piezoelectric bimorph elements as a space for each piezoelectric bimorph element to vibrate. When n piezoelectric bimorph elements are used, the height dimension of the piezoelectric vibration unit needs to be a height dimension obtained by multiplying the sum of the maximum amplitude of the piezoelectric bimorph element and the thickness of the piezoelectric element by n.
In the case of communication equipment and devices such as mobile phones, the acoustic frequency band as the required acoustic performance is 300 Hz to 3 kHz. Therefore, the maximum amplitude of one piezoelectric bimorph element needs to be set to about 1.0 mm, and a height dimension of about 2.0 mm is required even in a space necessary for the piezoelectric bimorph element to vibrate. . For this reason, the structure in which a plurality of piezoelectric bimorph elements are stacked has a problem of increasing the thickness of the piezoelectric vibration unit.
Further, when a panel of a portable device is vibrated, there is a problem that the acoustic characteristics are deteriorated due to the balance between the mechanical impedance characteristic of the panel and the generated force of the piezoelectric bimorph element. This decrease in acoustic characteristics becomes more pronounced as the portable device becomes thinner.
FIG. 4 is a graph showing ideal characteristics required for the piezoelectric vibration unit. The graph shown in FIG. 4 shows the mechanical impedance characteristics of a general panel used in a portable device, and the generated force characteristics and acoustic characteristics of an ideal piezoelectric bimorph element.
The ideal acoustic characteristics are at least the same as those required for electromagnetic speakers. In order to realize this, among the two resonance frequencies that a piezoelectric vibration unit using a piezoelectric bimorph element or a piezoelectric unimorph element normally has, the resonance frequency with the lower frequency is set as the primary resonance, and the resonance with the higher frequency is achieved. When the frequency is set to secondary resonance, the generated force at the primary resonance and the generated force at the secondary resonance are made substantially equal, and the generated force characteristic of the piezoelectric bimorph element and the mechanical impedance characteristic of the panel are corrected. Therefore, it is necessary to have a characteristic in which the change in the vibration speed of the panel with the frequency is small.
The size of a panel of a general mobile phone is 100 mm × 50 mm, and the area is small compared to a panel of a notebook personal computer or the like. Further, the material for supporting the panel is generally a hard silicone rubber in which drop resistance and moisture resistance are prioritized. For this reason, the panel has a structure that hardly vibrates, and the mechanical impedance of the panel in all frequency bands becomes larger than when the panel is not supported. Moreover, since the weight of the panel is light, the mechanical impedance of the panel decreases as the frequency increases due to the elastic force of the panel in the acoustic frequency band.
FIG. 5 is a graph showing the generated force of a conventional piezoelectric vibration unit. In the graph shown in FIG. 5, the horizontal axis represents frequency and the vertical axis represents generated force. The force generated by the piezoelectric bimorph vibrator is generated by an inertial force generated by acceleration. Therefore, in the frequency characteristic, the generation force of the secondary resonance is larger than that of the primary resonance. In the example shown in the graph of FIG. 5, the generation force of the primary resonance frequency is about 0.3 N, whereas the generation force of the secondary resonance frequency is about 1.5 N, which is a very large generation force. ing.
FIG. 6 is a graph showing the sound pressure of a conventional panel speaker. The graph of FIG. 6 shows acoustic characteristics when a panel speaker in which a piezoelectric bimorph element having a length of 40 mm, a width of 5 mm and a thickness of 0.7 mm is fixed in a cantilever shape on a 100 mm × 50 mm panel is actually driven. The mechanical impedance, the generated force of the piezoelectric bimorph element, and the respective frequency characteristics are shown. Since the mechanical impedance of the panel is high, the acoustic characteristics on the low frequency side due to the effect of the primary resonance are small. In addition, since the force generated by the piezoelectric bimorph element increases as the frequency increases, the acoustic characteristics also increase as the frequency increases, and equipment for communication applications such as mobile phones where acoustic characteristics with little change due to frequency are desired. It is not preferable as a device.
As described above, since the frequency characteristic of the mechanical impedance of the panel is in the elastic control region, the generated force of the piezoelectric bimorph element increases as the frequency increases, and the vibration speed and amplitude also increase as the frequency increases. Therefore, the sound output radiated from the panel speaker also increases as the frequency increases.
Furthermore, the panel speaker using the conventional piezoelectric vibration unit has a problem that harmonic distortion peculiar to the piezoelectric vibration unit which is not seen in the electromagnetic type speaker occurs. FIG. 7 is a graph showing the sound pressure and distortion of a conventional panel speaker. In the graph of FIG. 7, the horizontal axis represents frequency in Hz, and the vertical axis represents sound pressure and distortion in dB (decibel). The distortion indicated by the arrow A in the distortion graph is a distortion peculiar to the piezoelectric vibration unit that is not usually found in an electromagnetic speaker. Due to this distortion, there is a problem that the sound quality of the panel speaker using the piezoelectric vibration unit is significantly lowered.
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to solve the above-mentioned problems of the prior art. Specifically, it is an object of the present invention to provide a piezoelectric vibration unit and a panel speaker having a small height dimension and less change and distortion in acoustic characteristics depending on frequency.
The present invention employs the following means in order to solve the above problems. That is, the present invention uses a plurality of piezoelectric elements, and when the plurality of piezoelectric elements are joined via the fixing member, at least the surface of the piezoelectric element between the piezoelectric elements other than the portion where the joining member is disposed. The gist is to laminate and bond via a thin film member having a smaller friction coefficient.
According to the present invention, there is provided a piezoelectric vibration unit in which a plurality of piezoelectric elements are joined to each other in the thickness direction of the piezoelectric elements via joining members so as to generate a space, and at least a part of the space. In addition, a piezoelectric vibration unit in which a thin film member is disposed is obtained.
The piezoelectric vibration unit according to the present invention has a configuration in which a plurality of piezoelectric elements are stacked via a thin film member having a surface friction coefficient smaller than that of the piezoelectric elements and having a smooth surface. This laminated structure not only reduces the overall thickness, but also reduces vibration loss that occurs when the surfaces of each piezoelectric bimorph element vibrate and equals the sum of the inertial forces generated by each piezoelectric element. Power is obtained.
Furthermore, when each piezoelectric element vibrates, the loss of mechanical energy due to sliding of the surfaces of the piezoelectric elements alleviates the increase in amplitude in the primary resonance and the secondary resonance. That is, the sharpness of the generated force at the frequency of the primary resonance and the frequency of the secondary resonance is lowered. In addition, with respect to the problem that distortion due to harmonics appearing in the vicinity of 700 Hz is generated, the sharpness is lowered, so that the generated force at the frequency of the secondary resonance is suppressed, and the harmonics that cause distortion. Since the generation force of the component is also suppressed, the harmonic component is attenuated and distortion is reduced.
According to the present invention, the piezoelectric element includes a piezoelectric bimorph element formed by bonding two piezoelectric ceramic plates directly or with an elastic plate interposed therebetween, or a piezoelectric unimorph element formed by bonding a piezoelectric ceramic plate to an elastic plate. Thus, a piezoelectric vibration unit can be obtained.
The piezoelectric element used in the present invention uses two rectangular or disc-shaped piezoelectric ceramic plates, and is joined directly or joined so as to sandwich an elastic plate such as a metal plate or a prepreg containing carbon fiber. A piezoelectric bimorph element is used. Alternatively, a piezoelectric unimorph element in which a piezoelectric ceramic plate is bonded to an elastic plate such as a metal plate or a prepreg containing carbon fiber is used. The piezoelectric bimorph element or the piezoelectric unimorph element is a device that generates a flexural vibration corresponding to an electroacoustic signal when an electroacoustic signal is input.
According to the present invention, there is obtained a piezoelectric vibration unit characterized in that the piezoelectric ceramic plate is composed of an integrally fired laminated piezoelectric ceramic plate having internal electrodes.
The piezoelectric ceramic plate constituting the piezoelectric element used in the piezoelectric vibration unit according to the present invention is a piezoelectric ceramic plate having a structure in which an electrode is provided on the back of a single plate, or an internal electrode on a sheet of piezoelectric ceramic material formed into a thin film. After laminating a plurality of printed materials, a laminated piezoelectric ceramic plate integrated by firing is used. In particular, when a laminated piezoelectric ceramic plate is used, there is an advantage that when driving the piezoelectric vibration unit, the voltage of the electroacoustic signal to be driven can be set lower than the voltage for driving the piezoelectric ceramic single plate having the same thickness.
According to the present invention, there can be obtained a piezoelectric vibration unit characterized in that the piezoelectric vibration unit is housed in a frame. The mechanical strength of a piezoelectric vibration unit using a piezoelectric bimorph element has a drawback that it is weaker than an electromagnetic speaker or the like. Accordingly, the piezoelectric vibration unit according to the present invention has a robust structure by stacking a plurality of piezoelectric bimorph elements, and further has a structure that is resistant to drop impact by being housed in a frame. The frame body has a function of transmitting vibration generated by the piezoelectric vibration unit to the vibrating body by providing a fixing portion and fixing the piezoelectric vibration unit in a cantilever shape.
According to the present invention, a panel speaker is obtained by mounting the piezoelectric vibration unit on a panel. By mounting the piezoelectric vibration unit according to the present invention on a panel used for a display panel of a mobile phone or a mobile terminal device, a panel speaker capable of generating an acoustic vibration by vibrating the entire panel is obtained.
As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to provide a piezoelectric vibration unit and a panel speaker having a small height dimension and less change and distortion of acoustic characteristics due to frequency.
The piezoelectric vibration unit according to the present invention uses a plurality of piezoelectric bimorph elements and joins the piezoelectric bimorph elements in the thickness direction via a joining member. Further, a thin film member having a smooth surface is arranged between the piezoelectric bimorph elements to be joined. Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 8 is a diagram for explaining an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 8 is a sectional view showing the basic structure of the
In the
The configuration of the piezoelectric bimorph element according to the present invention not only reduces the thickness of the entire piezoelectric vibration unit, but also suppresses vibration because the

The graph of FIG. 10 shows frequency (Hz) on the horizontal axis and generated force (Newton) on the vertical axis. For comparison, the graph also shows the evaluation results of a piezoelectric vibration unit that uses only one piezoelectric bimorph element as a conventional product. As can be seen from the graph of FIG. 10, the generated force of the piezoelectric vibration unit according to this example is not as steep as the conventional product in the vicinity of the frequencies of the primary resonance and the secondary resonance.

In the graph shown in FIG. 14, the horizontal axis represents frequency (Hz) and the vertical axis represents sound pressure (dB). As can be seen from the graph shown in FIG. 14, it was confirmed that the sound pressure of the panel speaker according to the present example decreased with frequency and increased to 2 kHz. Further, it can be seen that the sound pressure decreases at a frequency of 2 kHz or more, but the change due to the frequency decreases. It was also confirmed that the distortion of the panel speaker according to this example was reduced.
In the first to third embodiments, three piezoelectric bimorph elements are used. However, the number of the used piezoelectric bimorph elements is not limited to three, and may be set as appropriate according to required acoustic characteristics. In addition to the piezoelectric bimorph element, the same effect can be obtained by designing the piezoelectric unimorph element optimally. Even if the thin film member is other than a fluororesin sheet, the surface of the piezoelectric element, such as a resin sheet such as a polyethylene terephthalate sheet or an ethylene tetrafluoride resin sheet, or a metal foil, or the surface roughness of the electrode surface attached to the surface of the piezoelectric element The same effect can be obtained if the thin film has a smooth surface with a small coefficient of friction. Moreover, what is necessary is just to set suitably the shape of a thin film member, the position to arrange | position, and an area, considering an acoustic characteristic.
