Claims (23)
- a) 導電性の第1及び第2の電極部材と、
b) バリスタ材料から形成され、前記第1及び第2の電極部材の各々に電気的に接続されるバリスタ部材と、
c) 導電性の可溶部材と、
を備えており、前記可溶部材は装置内の熱に反応して溶融した前記可溶部材を介して前記第1及び第2の電極部材間に電流流路を形成している、過電圧保護装置。 - 前記可溶部材により形成された前記電流流路は、前記可溶部材を前記第1及び第2の電極部材の各々に係合させて、前記第1の電極部材から前記第2の電極部材へと完全に延在している、請求項1に記載の過電圧保護装置。
- 前記可溶部材は金属から形成されている、請求項1に記載の過電圧保護装置。
- 前記可溶部材は、アルミニウム合金、亜鉛合金及び/又は錫合金からなるグループから選択した金属から形成されている、請求項3に記載の過電圧保護装置。
- 前記可溶部材は、約110℃〜160℃の範囲内にある融点を有している、請求項1に記載の過電圧保護装置。
- 前記第1の電極部材は、チャンバを形成するハウジングを備えており、前記可溶部材及び前記第2の電極部材の少なくとも一部は前記チャンバ内に配置されている、請求項1に記載の過電圧保護装置。
- 前記可溶部材は前記チャンバ内で前記第2の電極部材の前記一部に取付けられている、請求項6に記載の過電圧保護装置。
- 前記可溶部材は前記チャンバ内で前記第2の電極部材の前記一部に鋳込まれている、請求項7に記載の過電圧保護装置。
- 前記可溶部材は、別個の第1及び第2のサブパーツを備えており、前記第1及び第2のサブパーツは、保持装置により前記チャンバ内で前記第2の電極部材の前記一部に互いに取付けられている、請求項7に記載の過電圧保護装置。
- 前記可溶部材は、別個の第1及び第2のサブパーツを備えており、前記第1及び第2のサブパーツは、少なくとも1つの一体的保持機構により前記チャンバ内で前記第2の電極部材の前記一部に互いに取付けられている、請求項7に記載の過電圧保護装置。
- 前記第1及び第2の電極部材間で前記チャンバ内に配置される導電性の補強部材を備えており、前記補強部材は、前記ハウジングの材料よりも高い融点を有する材料から形成され、前記第2の電極部材からの電気アークを受けるように位置決めされている、請求項6に記載の過電圧保護装置。
- 前記チャンバは封止されている、請求項6に記載の過電圧保護装置。
- 前記チャンバ内に配置され、前記第1及び第2の電極部材間に介在されている電気絶縁部材を備えている、請求項6に記載の過電圧保護装置。
- 前記ハウジングが開口を形成しており、前記第2の電極部材が前記チャンバ内に位置した頭部と軸とを備えている、過電圧保護装置であって、前記過電圧保護装置は、
更に、前記開口内に配置された金属エンドキャップを備えており、前記金属エンドキャップにはエンドキャップ孔が形成されていて、前記軸が前記エンドキャップ孔を通り延在しており、
更に、前記第2の電極部材及び前記エンドキャップの間に介在された電気絶縁リング部材を備えており、前記電気絶縁リング部材にはリング孔が形成されていて、前記軸が前記リング孔を通り延在している、請求項6に記載の過電圧保護装置。 - 前記第2の電極部材は、前記チャンバ内に位置した頭部と、軸と、フランジとを備えており、前記フランジは、前記軸から延在し、前記頭部から離間しており、
前記可溶部材は、前記頭部と前記フランジとの間で前記軸に取付けられており、
前記過電圧保護装置は、前記頭部に負荷を加えるため前記頭部の反対側で前記フランジに取付けられたばね座金を更に備えている、請求項6に記載の過電圧保護装置。 - 前記バリスタ部材は、前記第1及び第2の電極部材の間に介在している、請求項1に記載の過電圧保護装置。
- 前記バリスタ部材が、向かい合ったウェハー表面を有するバリスタ・ウェハーであり、前記第1及び第2の電極部材の各々は、前記ウェハー表面のそれぞれに接触し、それぞれに対し付勢される接触表面を有している、請求項15に記載の過電圧保護装置。
- 前記第1及び第2の電極部材の少なくとも一方により接触される前記ウェハー表面に対して、前記第1及び第2の電極部材の少なくとも一方は付勢されている、請求項16に記載の過電圧保護装置。
- 前記バリスタ材料は、酸化金属化合物及び炭化ケイ素からなるグループから選択されている、請求項1に記載の過電圧保護装置。
- a) バリスタ材料から形成されたバリスタ部材を備えており、前記過電圧保護装置は、過電圧事象に応答して電流が前記バリスタ部材を通るべく方向づけるように構成しており、
b) 導電性の可溶部材を備えており、前記可溶部材は、前記過電圧保護装置内の熱に反応して溶融し、前記過電圧保護装置内に新たな電流流路を形成して、前記過電圧保護装置の少なくとも一部の電気的に引き起こされる加熱を抑制する、過電圧保護装置。 - 前記可溶部材は、前記過電圧保護装置内の熱に反応して溶融し、前記過電圧保護装置内に新たな電流流路を形成して、前記電流流路は、前記過電圧保護装置が規定温度を超える温度まで加熱することを防止している、請求項19に記載の過電圧保護装置。
- 前記新たな電流流路は電流を前記バリスタ部材から離れる方向に向いている、請求項19に記載の過電圧保護装置。
- 導電性の第1及び第2の電極部材と、バリスタ材料から形成されると共に前記第1及び第2の電極部材の各々に電気的に接続されるバリスタ部材と、導電性の可溶部材とを有する過電圧保護装置を備えるステップと、
前記過電圧保護装置内の熱に反応して溶融し、前記可溶部材を介して前記第1及び第2の電極部材間に電流流路を形成するステップとを含んでいる方法。
