Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a fire extinguishing apparatus and a fire extinguishing method for extinguishing fire using carbon dioxide, and is particularly suitable for a fire generated in a processing machine or the like in various production facilities.
Conventionally, carbon dioxide fire extinguishing and halogen fire extinguishing are known as gas fire extinguishing systems using gas as a fire extinguishing agent, and foams, liquids, and powders are generally used as fire extinguishing agents.
In carbon dioxide extinguishing, carbon dioxide is released into the fire extinguishing area, so that the oxygen concentration around the ignition source is kept low, and extinguishing is based on the so-called suffocation extinction principle. Furthermore, the effect of cooling the combustible material and assisting the fire extinguishing can be expected by the mist-like dry ice generated when the liquid carbon dioxide is vaporized and expanded. Carbon dioxide as a fire extinguishing agent is usually filled in a high-pressure container as a liquid compressed at high pressure. Due to its characteristics, it is considered suitable for fires such as flammable liquids, oils and fats, and fires of electrical equipment. ing. However, since carbon dioxide is harmful to the human body, if it is used, an alarm is issued at the same time as the fire occurs, personnel are evacuated from the fire extinguishing area, and the fire extinguishing area is confirmed to be unattended before extinguishing the fire. There is a need to work, that is to release carbon dioxide.
Halogen extinguishing is to extinguish the fire by releasing a fire extinguisher such as halon 1301 to suppress the combustion chemical reaction, that is, to stop the chain reaction of combustion. This halon 1301 fire extinguishing agent has the characteristics that the concentration of the extinguishing agent can be set lower than the above-mentioned carbon dioxide, and the toxicity to the human body is relatively low. However, due to global environmental problems associated with the destruction of the ozone layer by chlorofluorocarbons, halide fire extinguishing agents are also subject to use restrictions, and their manufacture is not permitted at present. In addition, when halogen fire extinguishing is applied to production facilities, halide fire extinguishing agents may cause significant damage to the machine tools that make up part of the production facilities by fire extinguishing work and the products that are processed by the fire extinguishing activities. It took a lot of time to restore the work.
For these reasons, carbon dioxide fire extinguishing is attracting attention as a realistic gas fire extinguishing system. In this carbon dioxide fire extinguishing, if the fire extinguishing area, that is, the volume of carbon dioxide released is large, a large amount of carbon dioxide is required to extinguish the fire, and a large number of liquid carbon dioxide storage containers must be prepared. It is necessary to secure a large installation space. In addition, when a large amount of carbon dioxide is released into a wide fire extinguishing area, it is necessary to discharge carbon dioxide harmful to the human body from the fire extinguishing area after extinguishing the fire. Patent Document 1 discloses that in order to eliminate carbon dioxide from a fire extinguishing area without adversely affecting the environment, the volume of the fire extinguishing air area is set as small as possible so that the amount of carbon dioxide released in the event of a fire can be reduced. Has been proposed.
On the other hand, in an injection molding machine, a heater for melting a molding resin is incorporated. Further, when the close contact between the gate portion of the mold of the injection molding machine and the nozzle portion that is injected through the gate portion is poor, the molten resin may leak from these gaps. Depending on the characteristics of the resin to be molded, the leaked resin may catch fire due to the heat of the heater and the short circuit of the heater, causing a fire. Patent Document 2 proposes a fire extinguishing device for such a fire. In this fire extinguisher, a fire detector and an injection nozzle for injecting carbon dioxide are arranged in the vicinity of a nozzle touch portion of a mold that comes into contact with a nozzle for injecting molten resin into the mold. According to this fire extinguishing apparatus, the resin leaked from the nozzle adheres to the heater, detects a fire ignited by the heat of the heater and a short circuit of the heater, and automatically extinguishes the fire.
Further, in a machine tool such as a lathe or a milling machine, a cover for preventing the machining fluid from being scattered around is provided. Such a cover also has a role of preventing the scattering of the defect due to the defect of the tool being processed or protecting the operator from an accident during the process. In a cutting machine tool, various machining fluids are used depending on the material and machining method of the workpiece to be machined. In particular, when a volatile working fluid with high flammability is used, it is necessary to pay sufficient attention not to generate sparks during processing. However, if a tool defect occurs and the defect collides with a workpiece or the like, a spark is generated, which ignites the machining fluid and causes a fire. In such a case, it is necessary to perform fire extinguishing work immediately after opening the cover. However, opening the cover may cause fresh air to flow into the substantially sealed cover, which may increase the fire. In order to eliminate such problems, an opening that can be opened and closed is provided in the cover separately from the door of the cover, and if a fire occurs, the fire extinguisher nozzle is inserted through the opening to extinguish the fire. Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. H10-228707 proposes a method that can make this possible.
The fire extinguishing apparatus described in Patent Document 1 reduces the space volume of a fire extinguishing area that is a fire extinguishing target, thereby reducing the amount of fire extinguishing gas released. However, a mechanism for reducing the space volume of the fire extinguishing area is complicated, and in order to reduce the space volume, a gas discharge device for inflating the reduced non-combustible bag is required separately from the fire extinguishing gas facility. . In addition, when the fire extinguishing gas is also used as a gas for expanding the incombustible bag, there is a problem that a large amount of gas needs to be stored.
Moreover, in the fire extinguishing apparatus described in Patent Document 2, it is necessary to dispose a fire detector and an injection nozzle for injecting carbon dioxide in the molding machine. For this reason, the installation space must be ensured, and as a result, the installation volume of the entire molding machine is increased.
Furthermore, in the case of the fire extinguishing apparatus described in Patent Document 3, if the scale of ignition is large, the opening for extinguishing fire is small, but the flame may protrude from the opening when the lid of the opening is opened. There is a problem that there is a danger in fire fighting activities.
An object of the present invention is to provide a fire extinguishing apparatus and a fire extinguishing method capable of efficiently extinguishing fires using a small amount of carbon dioxide without human intervention in view of such conventional problems.
According to a first aspect of the present invention, a fire barrier that is disposed so as to surround an ignition source and defines a fire extinguishing space, and an upper end portion of the fire extinguishing space defined by the fire barrier and the outside communicate with each other. Thus, there is provided a fire extinguishing apparatus comprising an exhaust port formed at the upper end of the fire barrier and a carbon dioxide injection nozzle for injecting carbon dioxide into the fire extinguishing space.
In the present invention, when a flame or smoke is generated from the ignition source, carbon dioxide is injected from the carbon dioxide injection nozzle into the fire extinguishing space, and the air interposed in the fire extinguishing space is discharged from the exhaust port to the outside of the fire extinguishing space. Discharge and quickly replace the air in the fire extinguishing space with carbon dioxide. As a result, the fire extinguishing space around the ignition source becomes a carbon dioxide atmosphere, and the combustion in the ignition source cannot be continued.
In the fire extinguishing apparatus according to the first aspect of the present invention, it is preferable that the carbon dioxide contains a granular solid. In this case, the carbon dioxide injection nozzle may inject carbon dioxide downward along the fire barrier so that a swirling flow crossing the ignition source is formed in the fire extinguishing space. Is preferably located in the lower part of the fire extinguishing space.
Based on the detection signal from the carbon dioxide storage tank that stores carbon dioxide, the detection of the flame or smoke from the ignition source, and the detection signal from the smoke detection sensor, the carbon dioxide storage tank in the carbon dioxide storage tank Carbon dioxide supply control means for guiding the carbon to the carbon dioxide injection nozzle and injecting it into the fire extinguishing space may be further provided.
The second aspect of the present invention includes a step of defining a fire extinguishing space surrounding an ignition source, a step of detecting whether flame or smoke is generated from the ignition source, and a flame or smoke is generated from the ignition source. In this case, the step of injecting carbon dioxide into the fire fighting space, and the air intervening in the fire fighting space is discharged out of the fire fighting space, whereby the air in the fire fighting space is discharged with carbon dioxide. A fire extinguishing method comprising the step of replacing.
In the present invention, when the generation of flame or smoke from an ignition source is detected, carbon dioxide is injected into the fire extinguishing space. As a result, air intervening in the fire fighting space is discharged out of the fire fighting space, and the air in the fire fighting space is replaced with carbon dioxide. As a result, it is impossible to continue combustion in the ignition source.
In the fire extinguishing method according to the second aspect of the present invention, the step of discharging the air in the fire extinguishing space to the outside of the fire extinguishing space utilizes the difference in specific gravity between carbon dioxide and air. It may be a thing.
The step of injecting carbon dioxide into the fire extinguishing space may include the step of injecting carbon dioxide downward from above the fire extinguishing space to form a swirling flow in the fire extinguishing space that crosses the ignition source.
According to the fire extinguishing apparatus of the present invention, a fire barrier that is disposed so as to surround the ignition source and defines a fire extinguishing space, and an upper end portion of the fire extinguishing space defined by the fire barrier and the outside communicate with each other. Since it has an exhaust port formed at the upper end of the fire barrier and a carbon dioxide injection nozzle that injects carbon dioxide into the fire extinguishing space, the air in the fire extinguishing space with a specific gravity smaller than carbon dioxide is exhausted The fire extinguishing space can be quickly filled with carbon dioxide. As a result, the ignition source can be quickly shifted to the misfire state. In addition, the amount of carbon dioxide used can be minimized according to the volume of the fire extinguishing space, and the post-extinguishing process can be performed more safely and quickly.
When carbon dioxide contains a granular solid, the ignition source itself is cooled by dry ice, so that more rapid fire extinguishing can be performed.
When carbon dioxide is jetted downward along the fire barrier from the carbon dioxide injection nozzle so that a swirling flow that crosses the ignition source is formed in the fire extinguishing space, the carbon dioxide is rapidly circulated around the ignition source. It can be transferred to the atmosphere, and quick initial fire extinguishing can be performed.
When the ignition source is located in the lower part of the fire extinguishing space, carbon dioxide, which tends to settle in the lower part of the fire extinguishing space due to the difference in specific gravity with air, can be surely interposed around the ignition source. It is possible to extinguish the fire.
Based on a detection signal from the carbon dioxide storage tank storing carbon dioxide, a fire detection sensor for detecting the generation of flame or smoke from the ignition source, and the detection signal from the fire detection sensor, the carbon dioxide storage tank in the carbon dioxide storage tank If it further includes carbon dioxide supply control means for guiding carbon to the carbon dioxide injection nozzle and injecting it into the fire extinguishing space, it is possible to automatically extinguish even if a fire occurs at the ignition source Become. In addition, since the operation of the carbon dioxide supply control means is switched based on the detection signal from the fire smoke detection sensor, it becomes possible to automatically stop the supply of carbon dioxide when the fire has been extinguished. Can be increased.
According to the fire extinguishing method of the present invention, a fire extinguishing space surrounding the ignition source is defined, whether or not flame or smoke is generated from the ignition source, and when fire or smoke is generated from the ignition source, the fire extinguishing space is determined. Carbon dioxide is injected into the fire extinguishing space, and the air present in the fire extinguishing space is discharged out of the fire extinguishing space, so that the air in the fire extinguishing space is replaced with carbon dioxide. It becomes possible to quickly fill with carbon dioxide, and the ignition source can be quickly shifted to a misfire state. In addition, the amount of carbon dioxide used can be minimized according to the volume of the fire extinguishing space, and the post-extinguishing process can be performed more safely and quickly.
When carbon dioxide contains particulate solids and the step of discharging the air in the fire fighting space out of the fire fighting space uses the specific gravity difference between carbon dioxide and air, carbon dioxide from the lower part of the fire fighting space The air in the fire extinguishing space having a specific gravity smaller than that of carbon dioxide can be quickly discharged from above by guiding the gas to the extinguishing space. In addition, since the ignition source itself is cooled by dry ice, more rapid fire extinguishing can be performed.
When injecting carbon dioxide into the fire extinguishing space, if carbon dioxide is injected downward from above the extinguishing space to form a swirling flow that crosses the ignition source in the extinguishing space, The surroundings can be quickly transferred to a carbon dioxide atmosphere. This also makes it possible to perform a quick initial fire extinguishing.

When the
A drying heater (not shown) is incorporated in the
In this embodiment, two
In the present embodiment, the
In the present fire extinguishing system, the
In the present embodiment, there is also provided a monitoring panel 39 that receives signals from a plurality of
This fire extinguishing system extinguishes fire for each ignition source, and a case where a fire occurs in the
When the
As described above, when resin or the like ignites and burns in the
When both the
When a worker is present at the fire site, the

In the above-described embodiment, the present invention is applied to the injection molding facility, but the present invention can also be used for a machine tool in which an ignition source is surrounded by a cover or the like. FIG. 4 shows the appearance of a machine tool according to another embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 5 shows the structure of its main part. Elements having the same functions as those of the previous embodiment are the same as those of the previous embodiment. The same reference numerals are used to omit the overlapping description.
The
The processing chamber R of the
In the upper part of the processing chamber R, an
In the present embodiment, even when a fire occurs in the processing chamber R, it is possible to automatically perform fire extinguishing activities with the
As described above, many of various processing machines have a small capacity section surrounded by a partition wall. Using this feature, when material or chips ignite in a compartment, it can be extinguished by creating an oxygen deficient state by injecting a very small amount of carbon dioxide. Further, the position and orientation of the carbon dioxide injection nozzle are appropriately selected so that an exhaust port is formed at the upper end portion of the fire extinguishing space and a swirling flow of carbon dioxide that crosses the ignition source in the fire extinguishing space is formed. Thus, air can be efficiently expelled from the fire extinguishing space in a short time and replaced with carbon dioxide.
In the embodiment described above, the present invention is applied to various production facilities. However, the present invention is not limited to such production facilities, and even a fire extinguishing space having a small volume surrounding the ignition source can be defined by the fire barrier. Needless to say, the fire extinguishing apparatus or the fire extinguishing method according to the present invention can be applied.
