Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a radio base station apparatus and a radio base station apparatus control method, and in particular, selects from a plurality of modulation schemes using each of a plurality of terminal apparatuses and any one of a plurality of channels. The present invention relates to a radio base station apparatus that performs communication using one modulation method and a control method for the radio base station apparatus.
Adaptive modulation is a technique for improving transmission efficiency and improving signal quality and utilization efficiency of radio waves by adaptively changing the modulation method according to the reception state of radio waves. In other words, if the radio wave reception is good, the error rate can be kept low even in a modulation scheme with a large number of modulation multilevels (hereinafter referred to as the multilevel number), so switching to a modulation scheme with a large number of multilevels will maximize throughput. . If the reception state of radio waves deteriorates, a communication method (an increase in error rate) is prevented by adopting a modulation method with a small number of multi-values.
If the reception condition of the radio wave further deteriorates and an error still occurs even when the modulation method with the minimum multi-level number (hereinafter referred to as the lower limit modulation method) is used, the communication quality is improved by adaptive modulation within the same channel. Can not do it. In such a case, the communication quality is usually prevented from being deteriorated by performing channel switching to another channel with good radio wave reception, handover or the like. Here, the channel is a transmission path in communication, and the number of channels can be increased by techniques such as frequency division multiplexing and time division multiplexing.
同図に示すように、基地局装置と端末装置との間の無線通信チャネルにおける変調方式は、電波状態の変動に応じて、4値変調のQPSK(Quadrature Phase Shift Keying)から16値変調の16QAM(Quadrature Amplitude Modulation)へ、そして再びQPSKへと適応的に変更されている。 However, in the conventional wireless communication system using the adaptive modulation system, the communication channel is switched if the radio wave reception state does not deteriorate to the state where an error still occurs even if the lower limit modulation system is adopted. There wasn't. FIG. 7 shows an example of a conventional wireless communication system using an adaptive modulation scheme. As shown in the figure, the modulation method in the wireless communication channel between the base station apparatus and the terminal apparatus is from quaternary modulation QPSK (Quadrature Phase Shift Keying) to 16-QAM 16QAM according to fluctuations in radio wave conditions. (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation), and adaptively changed to QPSK again.
When the radio wave reception state further deteriorates, the communication channel modulation scheme is changed to binary modulation BPSK (Binary Phase Shift Keying) which is the lower limit modulation scheme in the system of FIG. When BPSK, which is the lower limit modulation method, is adopted, an error hardly occurs but the throughput is lowered. If the radio wave condition further deteriorates, the error rate further increases accordingly, and the required throughput cannot be maintained even by BPSK which is the lower limit modulation method. As described above, when communication quality cannot be maintained only by adaptive modulation in the same channel, the communication channel is switched to another channel having a good reception state.
For this reason, in the conventional wireless communication system, there are other channels in which the reception state is better than the channel being communicated and a modulation method with a higher number of values or a modulation method with a lower error rate can be adopted. Nevertheless, there has been a problem that the channel is not switched and communication is continued with the throughput lowered.
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described conventional problems, and an object thereof is to provide a radio base station apparatus and a radio base station apparatus control method capable of improving communication throughput.
To achieve the above object, a radio base station apparatus according to the present invention is selected from a plurality of modulation schemes using each of a plurality of terminal apparatuses and any one of a plurality of channels. A radio base station apparatus that performs communication using one modulation scheme, a modulation scheme selection unit that selects a modulation scheme that can be used for at least some unused channels of the plurality of channels, and the modulation The communication speed comparing means for comparing the communication speed according to the modulation method selected by the method selecting means with the communication speed according to the modulation method of the channel being communicated, and performing communication according to the comparison result by the communication speed comparing means A channel that switches any one of a plurality of channels from the currently communicating channel to any one of the at least some unused channels. A replacement unit, characterized in that it contains.
The radio base station apparatus control method according to the present invention includes: one modulation selected from a plurality of modulation schemes using each of a plurality of terminal apparatuses and any one of a plurality of channels; A control method for a radio base station apparatus that performs communication according to a scheme, wherein a modulation scheme selection step that selects a modulation scheme that can be employed in at least some unused channels among the plurality of channels, and the modulation The communication speed comparison step for comparing the communication speed according to the modulation method selected in the method selection step with the communication speed according to the modulation method of the channel being communicated, and performing communication according to the comparison result in the communication speed comparison step Switch any one of a plurality of channels from the communicating channel to any one of the at least some unused channels. Characterized in that it comprises a channel switching step of changing, the.
According to the present invention, when communication is performed with one of the plurality of terminal apparatuses and one modulation scheme selected from the plurality of modulation schemes using any one of the plurality of channels. For at least a part of unused channels with good reception status among the channels, a modulation scheme that can be adopted by the channel is selected. Then, the communication speed according to the selected modulation method is compared with the communication speed according to the modulation method of the channel being communicated, and when there is an unused channel that can be expected to improve the communication speed, Switch from channel to unused channel. In this way, it is possible to switch the channel for communication from the channel being communicated to an unused channel that can employ a modulation scheme having a higher communication speed than that of the channel being communicated, thereby reducing the throughput of communication with the terminal device. Can be improved.
Also, in one aspect of the present invention, the modulation scheme selection unit includes a reception state evaluation unit that generates a reception state evaluation value indicating a reception state of the channel for the at least some unused channels, and the reception state Based on the reception state evaluation values of the at least some unused channels generated by the evaluation means, a modulation scheme that can be adopted by the channel is selected. By doing this, it becomes possible to select a modulation scheme that can be adopted by the channel based on the reception state evaluation value indicating the reception state of the unused channel.
In the aspect of the invention, the modulation scheme selection unit further includes a modulation scheme storage unit that stores a modulation scheme that can be employed in the range in association with the range of the reception state evaluation value, and the reception state evaluation unit Based on the reception state evaluation values of the at least some unused channels generated by the above, a modulation scheme that can be adopted by the channel is selected from the modulation scheme storage means. By doing this, it becomes possible to select a modulation scheme that can be adopted by the channel from the modulation scheme storage means based on the reception state evaluation value of the unused channel.
Also, in one aspect of the present invention, the communication speed comparison unit is configured so that the modulation method of the channel being communicated is the modulation method having the lowest communication speed among the modulation methods stored in the modulation method storage unit. The comparison is performed. In this way, only when the communication is performed with the modulation method with the lowest communication speed, the communication channel can be changed from the communication channel to the modulation method with a higher transmission speed than the communication channel. It becomes possible to switch to the channel used.
In the aspect of the invention, the reception state evaluation unit further generates a reception state evaluation value of the channel in communication, and the at least some unused channels are generated by the reception state evaluation unit. It is selected according to a comparison result between the reception state evaluation value of the channel in communication and the reception state evaluation value of each unused channel generated by the reception state evaluation means. By doing this, it becomes possible to select a modulation scheme that can be adopted by the channel based on the reception state evaluation value only for an unused channel having a higher reception state evaluation value than the channel under communication. .
In the aspect of the invention, the reception state evaluation value is a value based on a reception level of an interference wave in each channel. The reception state evaluation value may be a value representing a difference in reception level between a desired wave in the channel in communication and an interference wave in each channel. This makes it possible to select a modulation scheme that can be adopted in the channel based on the magnitude of the jamming wave level in an unused channel having a jamming wave level lower than that of the channel in communication.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. As shown in FIG. 1, a
As shown in FIG. 2, the radio base station apparatus 12 includes a
Hereinafter, for convenience of explanation, it is assumed that the
In the radio base station apparatus 12,
In the present embodiment, the radio base station apparatus 12 not only monitors the D wave and U wave of the channel being communicated for adaptive modulation, but also adjusts the magnitude of the D wave level and U wave level of the channel being communicated. Based on the base value and the carrier sense result of the empty slot (value based on the magnitude of the U wave level), it is determined whether or not to switch the channel for communication from the channel being communicated to another unused channel. That is, a value based on the magnitude of the U wave level of the channel being communicated is compared with a value based on the magnitude of the U wave level of the unused channel, and the reception state is better than that of the channel being communicated (the U wave level Determine if there are unused channels (low). If there is an unused channel whose reception state is better than that of the channel being communicated, the best modulation scheme that can be employed in the unused channel is selected based on the magnitude of the U wave level in the unused channel. Next, comparing the modulation method of the selected unused channel and the modulation method of the channel being communicated, the communication rate of the modulation method of the unused channel is higher (the multi-value number is larger or the multi-value number is higher). If the error rate is low, the channel used for communication is switched from the channel being used for communication to the unused channel.
As a result, if there is an unused channel that has a better reception state than the channel being communicated and can employ a modulation method with a higher number of values or a modulation method with a lower error rate, the channel to communicate with Is switched from the channel in communication to the unused channel, so that the communication throughput can be improved. The value based on the magnitude of the U wave level used for the above determination is a value (hereinafter referred to as D / U ratio) representing the difference between the channel being communicated, the D wave level, and the magnitude of the U wave level of each channel. It may be.
In FIG. 5, as a result of performing the above-described determination processing during communication using BPSK, which is the lower limit modulation method, it has been found that there is an unused channel that can adopt 16QAM, and thus the required throughput is maintained. An example is shown in which the channel is switched before it becomes impossible. The determination process may be executed when the channel being communicated employs the lower limit modulation scheme, or may be performed at an arbitrary timing regardless of the modulation scheme of the channel being communicated. For example, in FIG. 4, the communication channel may be switched to an unused channel capable of adopting 16QAM during communication with QPSK having a communication speed lower than 16QAM.
Hereafter, based on FIG. 2, the function of each component of the radio base station apparatus 12 which concerns on this Embodiment is demonstrated concretely.
The
The reception
Further, the reception
The at least some of the unused channels include the reception state evaluation value of the channel in communication generated by the reception
The
The modulation
The

The modulation
The communication
The
The comparison processing by the communication
Next, the adaptive modulation processing according to the embodiment of the present invention will be described based on the flowchart of FIG. The reception
The modulation
Next, the communication
According to the radio base station apparatus described above, it is possible to switch a channel for communication from an in-communication channel to an unused channel that can employ a modulation scheme having a higher communication speed than the in-communication channel. The throughput of communication with the terminal device can be improved.
The present invention is not limited to the embodiment described above.
