Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an apparatus for attaching a polarizing plate to a surface of a liquid crystal cell substrate in a manufacturing process of a liquid crystal display.
。 In general, the basic process of manufacturing a liquid crystal display can be roughly divided into a substrate manufacturing process, a cell manufacturing process, and a module manufacturing process. The substrate manufacturing step is a step of forming a functional film (transistor or diode of active matrix liquid crystal display, pixel electrode, transparent electrode of simple matrix liquid crystal display or color filter substrate, etc.) on one surface of the glass substrate. The cell manufacturing process is a process for forming a liquid crystal cell, and a process for forming an alignment film made of an organic polymer resin such as polyimide on one surface of a glass substrate on which an electrode pattern is formed in the substrate manufacturing process, and these functional films are formed. A step of making a pair of glass substrates face each other, interposing a spacer for controlling the cell thickness between the two, and bonding them together with a sealing material through a predetermined gap; A step of forming a cell container by cutting into a size, a step of enclosing a liquid crystal material in the cell container to form a liquid crystal cell, a step of attaching a polarizing plate to the surface of a glass substrate (liquid crystal cell substrate) constituting the liquid crystal cell Is included. The module manufacturing process is a process of assembling a liquid crystal cell, a mounting substrate on which a driver LSI and a power supply circuit for driving the liquid crystal cell are arranged, an electrical connection between the electrode of the liquid crystal cell and the driver LSI, and a housing that supports the components. (In the case of a transmissive display, a backlight unit is provided.)
In general, the polarizing plate attached to the liquid crystal cell substrate in the cell manufacturing step (polarizing plate attaching step) is based on a film-like polarizing film that polarizes light, and one side is protected by a protective film, and the other side. On the side, an adhesive layer used for attaching to the liquid crystal cell substrate and a release film (also called a separator) for covering the adhesive layer are provided. When the polarizing plate is attached to the liquid crystal cell substrate, the release film on the other side is peeled to expose the adhesive layer, and then the polarizing plate is positioned with respect to the liquid crystal cell substrate to display the liquid crystal cell substrate. It is necessary to accurately paste it on a predetermined area such as an area.
Regarding the pasting of the polarizing plate, in the following
Regarding peeling of the release film from the polarizing plate, in
Further, in
Furthermore, in Patent Document 4 below, the polarizing plate is moved together with the adhesive tape in a state where the release film is adhered to the adhesive layer of the adhesive tape (peeling tape) on the first table, and the polarizing plate is adsorbed at a predetermined position. It describes that the release film is peeled off from the polarizing plate by adsorbing the polarizing plate by the plate and moving the polarizing plate adsorption plate upward with respect to the first table.
Furthermore, in the following
Regarding the positioning of the liquid crystal cell substrate and the polarizing plate, the following Patent Document 6 uses two imaging cameras to recognize the position of the substrate by reading the alignment mark provided on the substrate, and holds the film. It is described that the pasting film is aligned at a desired position by a stand.
When peeling the release film from the polarizing plate, conventionally, as described in
Further, regarding the positioning of the liquid crystal cell substrate and the polarizing plate, Patent Document 6 is configured to recognize the position of the substrate by reading the alignment mark provided on the substrate using two imaging cameras. Therefore, the structure of the apparatus is complicated, and at the same time, calculation processing of image data from a complicated imaging camera is required, which complicates the control system. In addition, there is a limit to recognizing the exact position of the substrate from the image data from the imaging camera. Furthermore, although it is necessary to position a polarizing plate correctly with respect to a board | substrate based on the recognition data of a board | substrate position, patent document 6 does not mention the specific means for that.

The subject of this invention is providing the polarizing plate sticking apparatus which can perform peeling of a release film by a peeling tape reliably and efficiently, when peeling a release film from a polarizing plate.
The other subject of this invention is providing the polarizing plate sticking apparatus which can position a liquid crystal cell board | substrate and a polarizing plate correctly and with a simple structure.
In order to solve the above problems, the present invention includes a peeling part for peeling a release film from an adhesive layer of a polarizing plate, and a sticking part for attaching the polarizing plate from which a release film has been peeled off to the surface of a liquid crystal cell substrate with an adhesive layer; In the polarizing plate pasting device provided with the peeling tape, the peeling portion is provided with a peeling tape having an adhesive surface, and the polarizing film is peeled off from the polarizing plate in a state where the release film of the polarizing plate is in contact with the adhesive surface of the peeling tape. Provided is a configuration in which a release film is peeled from one corner of a polarizing plate by moving the tape relative to the diagonal direction of the polarizing plate.
In the above, it can be set as the structure provided with the corner | angular part press means which temporarily presses the corner | angular part of a polarizing plate to a peeling tape prior to the relative movement of a polarizing plate and a peeling tape.
Further, in the above, the peeling tape is disposed on the peeling table, the polarizing plate is held by the sticking head with the diagonal line along the longitudinal direction of the peeling tape, and the peeling table is in the longitudinal direction of the peeling tape with respect to the sticking head. It can be set as the structure which moves relatively.
In the above, positioning means for positioning the liquid crystal cell substrate by bringing the end surface of the liquid crystal cell substrate into contact with the pasting portion is provided, and the end surface of the polarizing plate sucked and held by the pasting head is positioned on the positioning portion. It can be set as the structure which abuts on a means and positions a polarizing plate with respect to the said liquid crystal cell substrate.
The sticking head may be configured to stick the polarizing plate at a position moved by a predetermined distance in a predetermined direction from a position where the end face of the polarizing plate is in contact with the positioning means.
Since the release film is peeled off from one corner of the polarizing plate by relatively moving the polarizing plate and the peeling tape in the diagonal direction of the polarizing plate, the release film is reliably and efficiently peeled off by the peeling tape. be able to.
In addition, since the liquid crystal cell substrate and the polarizing plate are positioned in contact with the same positioning means, both can be positioned with high accuracy with a relatively simple configuration.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
液晶セル1を構成するガラス基板1a(以下、「液晶セル基板1a」という。)
FIG. 1 schematically shows a
FIG. 2 schematically shows the polarizing
FIG. 3 conceptually shows the overall configuration of the polarizing plate sticking apparatus according to this embodiment. A supply position P1, a temporary positioning position P2, a cleaning position P3, an intermediate position P4, a pasting position P5, an intermediate position P6, and a reverse transfer position P7 are sequentially arranged from the upstream side along the conveying direction X of the
The
The
The
The
Thereafter, positioning and pasting of the
FIG. 4 schematically shows the peeling portion P8. The peeling portion P8 includes a peeling table 8 disposed on the side of the initial position of the sticking
The
Thereafter, the
Thereafter, the sticking
Thereafter, as shown in FIG. 5B, the peeling table 8 moves in the direction of the longitudinal center line L of the peeling
When peeling of the
On the other hand, the sticking
FIG. 6 shows the pasting position P5. At the pasting position P5, the liquid crystal cell substrate 1a is positioned in the above-described manner by the positioning means 6 before the
Thereafter, as shown in FIG. 7, the sticking
Thereafter, the
