Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an image processing apparatus, an image processing method, and an image processing program, and more particularly to a technique for correcting an image generated from RAW data.
Conventionally, a RAW data format in which pixel data of a color image sensor is digitally recorded as it is as a data recording format of an image input device such as a digital camera is known. Color image sensors usually have R (red), G (green), and B (blue) color filters for each pixel, so RAW data that has only one color component per pixel The image to be represented is incomplete information. Therefore, a demosaic process (also referred to as a color filter array interpolation process) that generates a color image having three color components for each pixel by predicting and interpolating at least the missing color component of each pixel with the color components of neighboring pixels. Until RAW data is applied to the RAW data, an image representing the object cannot be printed or displayed. Many image processing apparatuses that handle RAW data have an image generation function that uses at least a demosaic process and a function that corrects an image generated by the demosaic process, which is determined by each individual digital camera. In such an image processing apparatus, similar processing may be executed in the pre-processing until image generation and the correction processing after image generation. For example, sharpness correction processing is performed in the pre-stage processing up to image generation to recover the sharpness reduction due to the low-pass filter of the digital camera. There is a case where a sharpness correction process or a sharpness correction process corresponding to the print resolution is executed. As described above, if image processing with different purposes but the same correction algorithm can be executed collectively, the processing time is shortened. In addition, since image processing is essentially accompanied by deterioration of information, there is a possibility that image quality may be improved by reducing the number of times of image processing. Further, when pixel interpolation processing for increasing the resolution is executed after sharpness correction processing, there is a problem that jaggies become apparent. Therefore, it is desirable to avoid such sharpness correction processing before pixel interpolation if possible.
An object of the present invention is to provide an image processing apparatus, an image processing method, and an image processing program that have been created from the above viewpoint and in which a process for generating a final image from RAW data is optimized. .
(1) An image processing apparatus for achieving the above object uses input means for inputting RAW data and attribute information of the RAW data, setting means for setting a compensation parameter based on the attribute information, and demosaic processing Image generation means for generating an image from the RAW data, and image correction means for correcting the image using the correction parameters.
Generally, an image input device such as a digital camera attaches attribute information necessary for generating an image from RAW data to the RAW data. An image generated based on such attribute information is under the control of the image input device or its user. However, as described above, the processing executed to generate an image under the control of the image input device or the user based on such attribute information, and the image under the control of the image input device or the user If the process for correcting afterwards is similar, the former process and the latter process are executed together to improve the quality of the final image, and the processing time required to generate the final image is reduced. It can be shortened. In the present invention, a correction parameter for correcting an image generated from the RAW data is set based on the attribute information of the RAW data, so that the correction processing for the image generated from the RAW data is executed for a plurality of purposes. It is possible to unify the processing.
(2) The setting unit may generate a file in a general format in which the image and the correction parameter are stored. The image correction means may correct the image using the correction parameters stored in the file of the general format.
Software resources and hardware resources necessary for image processing can be saved by sharing resources. That is, whether the image processing apparatus itself can generate images from RAW data or an image generated by an external apparatus, as long as the image processing apparatus can process them using the same software resources and hardware resources. The manufacturing development cost of the image processing apparatus is reduced, and the development period is shortened. Therefore, by storing the image generated by the image processing apparatus from the RAW data and the correction parameters set by the image processing apparatus based on the attribute information of the RAW data in a file of a general format, the manufacturing development cost of the image processing apparatus can be reduced. Can reduce the development period.
(3) The image generation unit may not execute the sharpness correction process. The image correction means may perform sharpness correction processing on the image using the correction parameters.
(4) The image correction means may perform resolution conversion processing on the image, and perform the sharpness correction processing on the image subjected to the resolution conversion processing.
By unifying the sharpness correction processing before resolution conversion and the sharpness correction processing after resolution conversion into the sharpness correction processing after resolution conversion, image quality and processing speed are improved.
(5) The resolution conversion process may be a resolution conversion process to print resolution.
The resolution conversion process to the print resolution is a resolution conversion process performed last. Therefore, sharpness correction processing is optimized by executing sharpness correction processing for multiple purposes at once after resolution conversion processing to print resolution, without performing sharpness correction processing until resolution conversion to print resolution. The
(6) The attribute information may include model information of an image input apparatus that has generated the RAW data. The setting unit may set the correction parameter according to the model information.
If the model information can be specified, it is possible to set the control value of the sharpness correction processing executed for the purpose of recovering the reduction in sharpness due to the low-pass filter of the image input device such as a digital camera. Therefore, image quality and processing speed can be improved by setting correction parameters for sharpness correction processing after image generation based on the model information of the image input device.
(7) The attribute information may include a fixed operation value for sharpness correction for recovering a reduction in sharpness due to a low-pass filter of the image input device. The setting means may set the correction parameter according to the fixed operation value.
If a fixed operation value of sharpness correction processing for recovering a reduction in sharpness due to a low-pass filter of the image input device exists as attribute information of RAW data, correction of sharpness correction processing after image generation is performed based on the fixed operation value By setting parameters, image quality and processing speed can be improved. The operation value of the sharpness correction processing for recovering the reduction in sharpness due to the low-pass filter of the image input device is uniquely determined by the individual image input device. Thus, the sharpness correction processing value for recovering the sharpness reduction by the low-pass filter of the image input device is the same as the sharpness correction processing value for recovering the sharpness reduction by the low-pass filter of the image input device. This is a fixed operation value.
(8) The attribute information may include a fluctuation operation value of sharpness correction processing set according to an operation of the image input apparatus. The setting means may set the compensation parameter according to the fixed operation value and the variable operation value.
If the fluctuation operation value of the sharpness correction process set according to the operation of the image input device exists as the attribute information of the RAW data, the correction parameter of the sharpness correction process after image generation is set based on the fluctuation operation value. Thus, the image quality and the processing speed can be improved. The operation value of the sharpness correction process set according to the operation of the image input apparatus varies depending on the operation. Therefore, the operation value of the sharpness correction process set according to the operation of the image input apparatus is referred to as the fluctuation operation value of the sharpness correction process set according to the operation of the image input apparatus. As such a variable operation value, for example, a value for decreasing the sharpness is set in the portrait shooting mode, and a value for increasing the sharpness is set in the landscape shooting mode.
(9) An image processing method for achieving the above object includes inputting RAW data and attribute information of the RAW data, setting a correction parameter based on the attribute information, and using the demosaic process to generate an image from the RAW data. And correcting the image using the correction parameters.
Based on the attribute information of the RAW data, by setting a correction parameter for correcting the image generated from the RAW data, the processing executed for a plurality of purposes is unified in the correction processing for the image generated from the RAW data. It becomes possible to do.
(10) An image processing program for achieving the above object uses input means for inputting RAW data and attribute information of the RAW data, setting means for setting a compensation parameter based on the attribute information, and demosaic processing The computer is caused to function as image generation means for generating an image from the RAW data and image correction means for correcting the image using the correction parameters.
Based on the attribute information of the RAW data, by setting a correction parameter for correcting the image generated from the RAW data, the processing executed for a plurality of purposes is unified in the correction processing for the image generated from the RAW data. It becomes possible to do.
(11) An image processing apparatus for achieving the above object uses input means for inputting RAW data and attribute information of the RAW data, setting means for setting a compensation parameter based on the attribute information, and demosaic processing Image generating means for generating an image from the RAW data, and output means for outputting a file storing the correction parameters and the image.
By setting a correction parameter for correcting an image generated from the RAW data based on the attribute information of the RAW data, even if the device itself that generated the image from the RAW data does not correct the image, It is possible to unify processing executed for a plurality of purposes in the correction processing for the generated image.
(12) In an image processing method for achieving the above object, RAW data and attribute information of the RAW data are input, a correction parameter is set based on the attribute information, and an image is generated from the RAW data using demosaic processing. And outputting a file storing the correction parameters and the image.
By setting a correction parameter for correcting an image generated from the RAW data based on the attribute information of the RAW data, even if the device itself that generated the image from the RAW data does not correct the image, It is possible to unify processing executed for a plurality of purposes in the correction processing for the generated image.
(13) An image processing program for achieving the above object uses input means for inputting RAW data and attribute information of the RAW data, setting means for setting a compensation parameter based on the attribute information, and demosaic processing The computer is caused to function as an image generation unit that generates an image from the RAW data, and an output unit that outputs a file storing the correction parameters and the image.

2. Operation of Printer FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing the operation of the

2-1. Raw Data Print Setting In step S050, the

In step S <b> 100, the
In step S102, the user is informed that the free capacity of the
In step S116, a quantization table corresponding to the compression quality approved by the user is set. The quantization table is a table in which the quantization step width is defined stepwise according to the DCT coefficient. As the quantization step width increases, the image quality degradation after stretching becomes more prominent, and as the quantization step width decreases, the image quality degradation after decompression is suppressed. If it is determined in step S100 that the free space is “sufficient”, the highest quality quantization table, which is the default setting, is used for compression.
Free Space Securing Process In step S104, the
When data deletion is selected, the
When a deletion request is generated (step S108), the

Development correction setting process When a development correction setting change request is generated in step S120, the following development correction setting process is executed. The development correction setting change request is generated when a predetermined button is pressed.
In step S122, the

2-2. Print Processing When a print request is generated in step S130, the following print processing is executed. The print request is generated when a predetermined button is pressed.
In step S132, the

RAW Data Processing FIG. 4 is a flowchart showing in detail the flow of RAW data processing in step S136 described above.
In step S200, the
The processing from step S202 to step S220 described in detail below is executed in units of blocks. That is, in the first step S202, the raw data of the processing target block is read from the
FIG. 1 is a diagram schematically showing how data of a block to be processed is held in the
In step S202, the
In step S204, the
In step S206, the
In step S208, the
In step S210, the
In step S212, the
In step S214, the
In step S216, the
In step S218, the
In step S220, the
The block data subjected to the JPEG compression process is cumulatively accumulated in another area of the RAM 14 (an area different from the area where the block data before JPEG compression is stored) by repeatedly executing the processes from step S202 to step S220. Stored in In the state where the processing from step S202 to step S220 has been repeatedly executed up to the final block (the state determined as Y in step S222), the JPEG generated from the RAW data as shown in S5 of FIG. The entire intermediate image of the format is retained.
In step S224, the

By the way, in this embodiment, the sharpness correction process is not performed on the intermediate image stored in the
Therefore, in the present embodiment, in order to enable sharpness correction processing to be executed at one time at the time of resolution conversion in accordance with the print resolution or after resolution conversion in accordance with the print resolution, the sharpness adjustment by the low-pass filter of the image input device is performed. Sharpening to recover the drop and other purposes (for example, to reduce the sharpness in portrait images and to increase the sharpness in landscape images, to optimize the visual impression, and sharpness depending on the print size The information for enabling the
Specifically, for example, it is assumed that the sharpness operation value is set to “+1” as image correction control information for obtaining a preferable print result in the RAW data file. In the case of a conventional printer (for example, a PIM-compatible printer), a sharpness of “+1” is obtained for any image generated by any digital camera as long as the sharpness operation value of the processing target image is set to “+1”. A uniform control value corresponding to the operation value is applied in the sharpness correction processing. On the other hand, in the
Note that the control information transmission method considering the device characteristics of the image input apparatus such as a digital camera is not limited to the method of recording in the file header of the intermediate image, but via an API closed inside the
Image Printing Process FIG. 5 is a flowchart showing in detail the flow of the image printing process in step S138 described above.
The process shown in FIG. 5 is substantially the same as the process executed when an image in the JPEG format or the like is selected as a print target. That is, the
In step S300, the
The processing from step S302 to step S306 described in detail below is executed for each band to be printed. Normal printing is sequentially performed from one side of the image toward the opposite side. For this reason, processing proceeds sequentially in band units in accordance with the printing direction. That is, in the first step S302, the compressed data of the band to be printed is read from the
For example, as shown in FIG. 6, when a horizontally long image is sequentially printed in the horizontal direction of the image (a direction in which print target bands are processed in order from A to G), that is, when an image rotated by 90 degrees is printed, The print target band is set so as to divide the image in the horizontal direction. In this case, as shown in FIG. 6, the generation direction of the intermediate image (one line is generated in the horizontal direction in the order of the broken line arrows, and each line is sequentially generated in the order of the numbers) and the printing direction of the intermediate image (A to G). Since the order in which the print target bands are processed in this order differs by 90 degrees, the generation of the intermediate image and the printing of the intermediate image cannot be sequentially processed in series. Therefore, in this case, the entire intermediate image needs to be held statically in the memory space. If the intermediate image is statically held in the memory space without being compressed, the
At the time of printing, the intermediate image that is the source information to be printed and the print data that is the output information must be held in the
Such an effect is not advantageous only when the image is rotated and printed. For example, the effect of compressing the intermediate image is advantageous even when the entire image is analyzed to set the image correction control value. Also, for example, even if the output destination of the intermediate image is a device with a low data transfer speed such as a hard disk device, or the communication speed between the
In step S <b> 302, the
In step S304, the
In step S306, the
When the processing from step S302 to step S306 is completed up to the final print target band (when determined as Y in step S308), the
3. Other Embodiments In the above-described free space securing process, the example in which the
When a plurality of external storage media can be connected to the

In the above embodiment, an example in which the present invention is applied to a stand-alone printer has been described. However, the present invention can also be applied to a PC (Personal Computer), a digital camera, an image scanner, or the like that does not have an image correction function. Specifically, for example, a file storing the intermediate image obtained as an execution result and the image correction control information for obtaining a preferable print result is executed by these PCs and image input devices up to the above-described RAW data processing.
