Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a projection apparatus, a projection method, and a program suitable for a projector apparatus having a trapezoidal correction function.
Conventionally, various projector devices equipped with a function called trapezoidal correction that corrects a projected image to be a rectangle with a correct aspect ratio even when the projector device and the screen are not facing each other have been commercialized. ing.
However, the technique of the above-mentioned patent document sets the screen tilt angle obtained in advance as an offset value, or provides a screen angle sensor circuit for detecting the screen angle on the screen, so that the screen detected by a cable or wirelessly can be used. It is necessary to send tilt angle information to the projector apparatus.
Therefore, an accurate trapezoidal correction process cannot be performed on a tilted screen using only the projector device alone and without any user setting operation, and an image without trapezoidal distortion cannot be projected.

Here, when the AF / AK key is operated, this is determined in step S01, and the image data of the chart image stored in the non-volatile memory inside the

In projecting such a chart image, the two imaging systems using the

In this case, the projected chart image is a vertical stripe pattern as described above, and includes a lot of contour portions where the light and dark sections are clear. Therefore, the chart image is suitable for extracting high-frequency components from the spatial frequency components. ing.
In this manner, the chart image projected by the two imaging systems using the

After the image data obtained by imaging is once held in the
Thereafter, the phase difference to the projection surface is calculated from the two pieces of image data held in the image recording unit 47 (step S05).
That is, the two pieces of image data are obtained by the parallax of the mounting positions of the

Due to the simple geometric nature,
1 / d = a / bf (2)
(However, a = a1 + a2.)
In the above formula (2), a is the phase difference.
Δd/Δa=−(d2 /bf) …(3)
Differentiating the above equation (2) by the phase difference a,
Δd / Δa = − (d 2 / bf) (3)
Thus, it can be seen that by setting b as large as possible, the distance error can be reduced with respect to the same phase difference error. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 1, the
Thereby, the error in calculating the distance value to an arbitrary point on the projection surface is made smaller, and the trapezoidal correction described later can be executed with high accuracy.
In the pair of two imaging systems, that is, the
In addition, it is desirable that the optical axis of the projection
Therefore, the above equation (2) is modified in consideration of the offset,
1 / d = Aa + B (1)
(Where d is the distance from the image sensor to the projection surface,
a: phase difference between a pair of area imaging means,
A: Constant (coefficient) having individual differences based on the structure of the area imaging means,
B: A constant (offset) having individual differences based on the structure of the area imaging photographing means. )
Thus, even if there is an error in the parallelism or interval between the imaging system and the projection system, the conversion from the phase difference to the distance can be easily and accurately calculated by a simple calculation formula.
The constants A and B can be obtained by measuring individual differences between the imaging system and the projection system in advance in the factory that manufactures the
Since the constants A and B are different for each direction in which the distance is measured, it is necessary to measure and store in advance for each direction.
In step S05, a phase difference between a plurality of point positions of three or more points, preferably four or more points is obtained, a distance value is calculated from the respective phase differences by using the above equation (1), and a projector is further calculated using a plurality of distance values. The relative angle between the projection optical axis of the

The formula of the projection surface SC is

And then sum of squared errors
Σ (D · Ai−c) 2 (5)
By calculating x, y, and c that minimize the value, an accurate plane angle of the screen projection surface SC can be calculated with a simple calculation method.
When the relative angle with respect to the screen projection surface SC is thus obtained, a predetermined parameter used for image deformation is calculated from the angle, and the deformation state of the image displayed for projection is set by the
The automatic focusing and time and keystone correction processing corresponding to the operation of the AF / AK key is completed as described above, and the processing returns to the processing from step S01 and waits for the operation of the AF / AK key again.
As described above, since the screen as the projection target does not require any configuration, and the operation is shifted to the immediate automatic keystone correction process by a simple key operation without performing any operation such as data setting by the user. The trapezoid correction can be completely automated with the device alone, without selecting the screen to be projected.
In addition, since the image data can be obtained by imaging the range including the projection surface, other control operations of the apparatus, for example, adjustment of the projection image, etc. can be handled by the image processing technique.
In the above embodiment, the case of using the vertical striped chart image shown in FIG. 4 has been described. However, when measuring a plurality of points on the projection surface SC of the screen, positions as far as possible within the projection range. For example, a chart image as shown in FIG. 7 may be used in place of the chart image of FIG. 4.
That is, FIG. 7 illustrates a chart image in which white (bright) rectangular patterns are arranged at the four corners of the projection range, and the
Therefore, if the direction is determined by examining the positions of the rectangular patterns arranged at these four corners, the projection angle of view by the
Therefore, the direction to be measured corresponding to the projection field angle can be linked to the projection field angle based on the zoom position of the
When the vertical striped chart image shown in FIG. 4 is projected, scanning in the direction parallel to the arrangement direction connecting the
In this case, between the captured image obtained via the
Furthermore, by taking the average of the phase differences detected by performing chart image capturing a plurality of times, the accuracy can be further improved, and as a result, the keystone correction can be performed more accurately.
Further, in the chart image of FIG. 3 above, since the interval of the stripe pattern on the projection surface changes corresponding to the zoom position (projection angle of view) of the
For this reason, the
Further, prior to the projection of the chart image shown in FIG. 3, as shown in FIG. 8, a chart image with a larger vertical stripe pattern is projected and photographed by two imaging systems, and the phase difference After calculating the approximate value, the process may shift to phase difference detection by projecting the chart image of FIG.
In this way, when performing phase difference detection from two captured images, “false in-focus” caused by recognizing the position of the corresponding striped pattern by one is prevented in advance, and keystone correction is ensured. Can be executed.
In addition, regardless of the chart images in FIG. 3 or FIG. 7, the brightness of the projected image changes depending on the projection distance. Therefore, when capturing the projected chart image, the distance to the projection surface The image capturing conditions, for example, the shutter speed may be varied according to the condition, and the brightness of the image to be captured may be maintained constant.
By doing so, it is possible to stabilize the detection accuracy of the phase difference and always obtain a certain trapezoidal correction accuracy.
Further, in calculating the distance to the projection surface, if the number of target directions is set to be larger, for example, the distance to a total of 100 points of 10 vertical points × 10 horizontal points is obtained, Even if the surface is not a flat surface but a curved surface, the shape can be accurately grasped, and a trapezoidal correction process can be performed to project an accurate and easy-to-see rectangular image.
In that case, if a plane approximation of the projected surface is performed from the calculated curved surface shape and trapezoidal correction optimized when viewed from the normal direction of the obtained approximate plane is performed, a more natural and easy-to-see image is projected. can do.
In addition, with respect to the above optimization, directions other than the normal direction of the approximate plane can be indicated by, for example, the cursor key operation of the
The constants A and B used in the above formula (1) have been described as being stored in advance according to the direction of the phase difference to be detected. However, the constants A and B in all possible directions can be assumed. Since the memory capacity is consumed to store the constants, constants A and B are stored for a certain number of sets, and the phase difference is detected in the direction not stored. The constants A and B may be newly calculated by interpolation using the stored constants A and B.
FIG. 9 illustrates the concept when the constants A and B are newly calculated. In the same figure, constants (A11, B11) to (A13, B13), (A21, B21) to (A23, B23), (A31, B31) to (A33, B33) are known, and the phase difference in the direction of the middle point Px in the region surrounded by the points P21, P22, P31, P32 is detected.
In this case, the direction of the point Px is obtained by interpolation using the constants (A21, B21), (A22, B22), (A31, B31), (A32, B32) of the directions of the points P21, P22, P31, P32. By calculating the constants (Ax, Bx), the phase difference in the direction can be easily calculated.
As described above, even when the phase difference is detected in a direction other than a plurality of preset directions on the projection surface of the screen, the distance to the projection surface can be accurately calculated by simple calculation by interpolation processing. It can be applied to any installation environment, chart image, etc., and correct keystone correction can be executed.
