編集用文書データを保存する編集用ファイル共有サーバと、このサーバ上で編集され、完成した文書データの保管・公開を行う保管用ファイル共有サーバと、保管・公開される文書の所在を記録するデータベースとが、コンピュータネットワークを介して通信自在に接続される文書管理システムであって、
前記保管用ファイル共有サーバは、前記データベースから保管・公開される文書の所在を検索する検索手段と、
保管・公開される文書データのディレクトリ構造と文書データを定義する構造定義手段と、
既に保管・公開されている文書の構造定義を再度、別の保管・公開される文書の構造定義に用いる構造定義流用手段と、
ある1つの構造定義を基に前記編集用ファイル共有サーバ上にディレクトリ構造と文書データを作成する編集ファイル作成手段と、
ある1つの構造定義を基に前記保管用ファイル共有サーバ上にディレクトリ構造と文書データを作成する保管ファイル作成手段と、
