Abstract
【解決手段】 面光源1からの光を切替素子6により拡散光又はコリメート光に切り替えた後、表示パネル2に入射して画像を表示する際に、面光源1の輝度調整及び表示パネル2の階調電圧の再設定を行い、切替の前後で、正面画像の輝度及び色相が変化しないように調整する。

Claims (14)
- 面状光を出射する面光源と、この面光源からの光を拡散光又はコリメート光のいずれかに切り替える切替素子と、この切替素子からの光が入射され画像を表示する表示パネルと、前記切替素子を制御して拡散光又はコリメート光を出射するように切り替えると共に、この切替に際し、前記面光源の輝度を変更し、更に、前記面光源の輝度の変更に応じて前記表示パネルの各色画素の透過率の少なくとも一部を調整する制御部とを有することを特徴とする視野角可変液晶表示装置。
- 面状光を出射する面光源と、この面光源からの光が入射され画像を表示する表示パネルと、この表示パネルからの光を拡散光又はコリメート光のいずれかに切り替える切替素子と、この切替素子を制御して拡散光又はコリメート光を出射するように切り替えると共に、この切替に際し、前記面光源の輝度を変更し、更に、前記面光源の輝度の変更に応じて前記表示パネルの各色画素の透過率の少なくとも一部を調整する制御部とを有することを特徴とする視野角可変液晶表示装置。
- 前記切替素子は、高分子分散型液晶であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の視野角可変液晶表示装置。
- 前記切替素子は、ゲスト・ホスト液晶であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の視野角可変液晶表示装置。
- 前記光源からの光は、直線状ルーバーにより指向性が高められることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の視野角可変液晶表示装置。
- 前記透過率を調整する色画素は青色の画素であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項に記載の視野角可変液晶表示装置。
- 前記透過率を調整する色画素は青色、赤色及び緑色の全てであることを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項に記載の視野角可変液晶表示装置。
- 前記面光源の輝度の変更は、前記面光源に対する通電電流量の変更により行うことを特徴とする請求項1乃至7のいずれか1項に記載の視野角可変液晶表示装置。
- 前記面光源の輝度の変更は、前記面光源に供給する電流の時間変調によって行われることを特徴とする請求項1乃至7のいずれか1項に記載の視野角可変液晶表示装置。
- 面光源からの光を表示パネルに入射して画像を表示する際、前記面光源からの光又は前記表示パネルからの光を、切替素子により拡散光又はコリメート光にすることにより、高視野角の表示又は狭視野角の表示を切り替える視野角可変液晶表示方法において、前記切替素子による切替の際、前記面光源の輝度を変更し、更に、前記面光源の輝度の変更に応じて前記表示パネルの各色画素の透過率の少なくとも一部を調整して、輝度及び色相の変化が、前記切替の前後で生じないように制御することを特徴とする視野角可変液晶表示方法。
- 前記切替素子は、透明状態と散乱状態とを切り替えることにより、拡散光又はコリメート光を切り替えることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の視野角可変液晶表示方法。
- 前記切替素子は、高反射状態と低反射状態とを切り替えることにより、拡散光又はコリメート光を切り替えることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の視野角可変液晶表示方法。
- 前記切替素子は、高吸収状態と低吸収状態とを切り替えることにより、拡散光又はコリメート光を切り替えることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の視野角可変液晶表示方法。
- 前記請求項1乃至9のいずれか1項に記載の視野角可変液晶表示装置を搭載したことを特徴とする端末機。
