Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a fuel cell including a mixing tank that generates a premixed liquid in which liquid fuel and water are mixed.
There is a fuel cell that generates electricity by chemically reacting a premixed liquid in which methanol and water are mixed with oxygen in the air using an electrolyte membrane. Methanol as fuel is provided to the user in a state where the cartridge tank is filled by the manufacturer. In addition to the fuel tank, the fuel cell includes a mixing container that mixes fuel with water homogeneously.
The mixing container and the electrolyte membrane are communicated with each other through a flow path for passing the premixed solution. In the middle of the flow path, a cooler and a liquid feed pump are provided to circulate the premixed liquid. In order to reduce the size of the entire fuel cell device, parts that can be omitted in the flow path, such as a shut-off valve, are omitted as much as possible. When disassembling the system in which the premixed liquid circulates for maintenance, if the premixed liquid remains in the mixing tank, the premixed liquid may leak from the decomposed portion.
Therefore, when disassembling a part of the system through which the premixed liquid flows, it is necessary to extract at least the liquid in the mixing tank. The mixing tank has a structure in which an upper lid is fixed to the tank with a small screw. When extracting the premixed solution, it is necessary to remove the top cover and suck out the solution with a syringe or syringe. For this reason, not only is careful work not to overflow the contents with the top cover removed, but there is also a possibility that foreign matters such as dust may be mixed to open the top cover.
Further, as in Patent Document 1, a fuel supply pipe attached to the end of a module incorporating a fuel pump is prepared for supplying fuel to an engine or the like, and the fuel in the tank can be supplied in a short time. Not provided for sucking out.
Furthermore, when disassembling the fuel cell, a pump for circulating the premixed liquid cannot obtain a driving force, and thus cannot be used.
Therefore, the present invention provides a fuel cell including a mixing tank that can easily suck out the premixed liquid convection inside.
The fuel cell of the present invention includes a fuel tank, a mixing tank, an electromotive unit, an air supply unit, a condenser, a mixed liquid supply path, a mixed liquid recovery path, and a water supply path. The fuel tank stores liquid fuel. The mixing tank is communicated with a fuel tank through a fuel supply path, and a liquid fuel supplied through the fuel supply path is mixed with water to generate a premixed liquid. The electromotive unit performs power generation by chemically reacting the premixed liquid with oxygen in the air. The air supply unit supplies air to the electromotive unit. A condenser condenses the water vapor | steam in the humid air discharged | emitted from an electromotive part. The mixed solution supply path passes the premixed solution from the mixing tank to the electromotive unit. The mixed solution recovery path passes the premixed solution from the electromotive unit to the mixing tank. The water supply path joins the water recovered by the condenser to the mixed liquid recovery path.
The mixing tank includes a communication hole, a tube, and a cap. The communication hole allows the inside and the outside to pass through. The tube is provided for extracting the premixed solution from the inside of the mixing tank, and the base end is fixed to the internal hole of the communication hole that opens to the inside, so that the tip reaches the bottom surface inside. The cap is provided so as to be removable and closes the external hole of the communication hole that opens to the outside.
The fuel cell of the present invention can easily extract and collect the premixed liquid from the mixing tank without opening the mixing tank before disassembling the system through which the premixed liquid circulates.
The fuel cell 1 according to the first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 10 by taking as an example a case where the fuel cell 1 is applied to an external power source of a notebook type portable computer P. As shown in a conceptual diagram of a power generation method in FIG. 5, the fuel cell 1 uses a premixed liquid obtained by mixing methanol and water as fuel, and chemically reacts the premixed liquid with oxygen in the air and an electrolyte membrane. This is a direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) that generates electricity. This DMFC is easier to handle than a fuel cell that uses hydrogen as a fuel, and as shown in FIG.
As shown in FIG. 1, the fuel cell 1 includes a
The
The
When the portable computer P is pressed against the
As shown in the perspective view of FIG. 3 and the system diagram of FIG. 4, the
As shown in FIG. 4, the
The
The
A sound speed sensor is applied to the
The
The
As shown in FIG. 6, the mixing
The
An external hole 41 g of the
The
In the case of the present embodiment, the mixing
As shown in FIGS. 7 to 9, the mounting
The mixed
In the mixed
The mixed
As shown in FIG. 5, the
In the
The
The
Moisture in the humid air sent through the
The air whose moisture has been recovered to some extent by the
The
The premixed liquid cooler 73 is disposed on the upstream side of the
As shown in FIG. 5, the

In the fuel cell 1 configured as described above, the rear end portion of the portable computer P is placed on the
The
The premixed liquid added with methanol is supplied to the
With the power generation reaction, carbon dioxide is generated on the
Carbon dioxide is vaporized in the
Most of the water generated on the
In addition, water in which a part of the water that could not be collected by the
During the operation of the fuel cell 1, the
The concentration of methanol in the
While the
Further, the

Since the
The base of the
The mounting
Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 8, the mounting
In the case where the
The shape of the mounting
