Abstract
Description
本発明は、金属触媒粒子を基点として成長した筒状炭素分子(以下,カーボンナノチューブともいう)を有する筒状分子構造およびその製造方法に係り、特に筒状炭素分子が基板に対して高配向で垂直方向に成長した筒状分子構造およびその製造方法、並びにその筒状分子を製造するための前処理基板およびその製造方法に関する。 The present invention relates to a cylindrical molecular structure having cylindrical carbon molecules grown from metal catalyst particles (hereinafter also referred to as carbon nanotubes) and a method for producing the same, and in particular, the cylindrical carbon molecules are highly oriented with respect to a substrate. The present invention relates to a cylindrical molecular structure grown in the vertical direction, a manufacturing method thereof, a pretreatment substrate for manufacturing the cylindrical molecule, and a manufacturing method thereof.
近年のナノテクノロジーの進歩は著しく,なかでもカーボンナノチューブ(Carbon Nanotub;CNT)等の分子構造体は、熱伝導性,電気伝導性,機械的強度などで優れた特性を持つ安定した材料であることから、トランジスタ,メモリ,電界電子放出素子など幅広い用途への応用が期待されている。また、酵素センサなど、物理的もしくは化学的な変化を電気信号に置き換えて物質の検出を行うセンサとしての利用などについても多くの研究がなされている。 In recent years, nanotechnology has made remarkable progress, and in particular, molecular structures such as carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are stable materials with excellent properties such as thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, and mechanical strength. Therefore, it is expected to be applied to a wide range of applications such as transistors, memories, and field emission devices. In addition, many studies have been made on use as a sensor for detecting a substance by replacing a physical or chemical change with an electric signal, such as an enzyme sensor.
更に、カーボンナノチューブの高集積化およびセンサとしての感度の向上を図るために、例えば、フェリチンに内包されている鉄(Fe)粒子をカーボンナノチューブの成長の触媒として利用し、この鉄粒子を基点として成長させる方法が提案されている(例えば、非特許文献1参照)。しかし、この方法では、基板上の所定の位置に触媒である鉄粒子を固定化することが難しく、カーボンナノチューブを基板の所定の位置に配置することが困難であるなどの問題があった。 Furthermore, in order to increase the integration of carbon nanotubes and improve the sensitivity as a sensor, for example, iron (Fe) particles encapsulated in ferritin are used as a catalyst for the growth of carbon nanotubes. A method of growing is proposed (for example, see Non-Patent Document 1). However, this method has a problem that it is difficult to fix iron particles as a catalyst at a predetermined position on the substrate, and it is difficult to dispose the carbon nanotubes at a predetermined position on the substrate.
そこで、ポリペプチド等からなる有機膜を予め基板上に形成し、ポリペプチドの有するアミノ基を利用してシリコン基板の表面に正電荷を帯電させておいてから負電荷を帯びている鉄粒子を内包するフェリチンを静電的に吸着させたのち、その鉄粒子を基板上に固定化する方法等が提案されている(例えば、特許文献1,2参照)。
Therefore, an organic film made of a polypeptide or the like is formed on a substrate in advance, and a positive charge is charged on the surface of the silicon substrate using the amino group of the polypeptide, and then the negatively charged iron particles are formed. A method has been proposed in which ferritin to be encapsulated is electrostatically adsorbed and then the iron particles are immobilized on a substrate (for example, see
In the above-described method using a polypeptide, when a silicon substrate is used as a growth substrate, silicide is formed, so that carbon nanotubes can be grown in a direction perpendicular to the substrate. However, in this method, silicide cannot be formed between the substrate and the carbon nanotube (or catalyst) on a substrate other than the silicon substrate, and the carbon nanotube is grown in a direction perpendicular to the substrate. There was a problem that I could not. Even if carbon nanotubes grow vertically, it is difficult to convert physical or chemical changes into electrical signals with high sensitivity if the substrate is a semiconductive or nonconductive substrate such as a silicon substrate or glass. Not enough to use.
本発明はかかる問題点に鑑みてなされたもので、その第1の目的は、導電性基板など基板の種類を問わず、炭素分子を基板に対して垂直方向に成長させることができ、炭素分子の集積度を向上させることができると共に、感度のよいセンサ等を実現することのできる筒状分子構造の製造方法、およびその方法により得られる筒状分子構造を提供することにある。 The present invention has been made in view of such problems, and a first object thereof is to allow carbon molecules to grow in a direction perpendicular to the substrate regardless of the type of substrate such as a conductive substrate. It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for producing a cylindrical molecular structure capable of improving the degree of integration and to realize a sensitive sensor and the like, and a cylindrical molecular structure obtained by the method.
また、本発明の第2の目的は、このような筒状炭素分子の成長に適した前処理基板およびその製造方法を提供することにある。 The second object of the present invention is to provide a pretreatment substrate suitable for the growth of such cylindrical carbon molecules and a method for producing the same.
A method for producing a cylindrical molecular structure according to the present invention includes an organic film forming step of forming an organic film on the surface of a substrate using a compound having a silane group, a catalyst arranging step of arranging metal catalyst particles on the organic film, By performing heat treatment or ozone oxidation treatment on the substrate, the metal catalyst particles are immobilized on the substrate and a silicide forming step is performed in which a silicide layer is formed between the substrate and the metal catalyst particles, and the metal catalyst particles are activated. And a growth step of growing cylindrical carbon molecules in a direction perpendicular to the substrate with the metal catalyst particles as a starting point. In the present invention, the “substrate” is not limited to a flat plate shape, and at least the surface (the growth surface of the carbon nanotubes) may be flat, and the shape of other surfaces is arbitrary. The material includes any of a semiconductor, an insulator, and a conductor.
より具体的には、以下のようにして上記筒状分子構造が作製される。 More specifically, the cylindrical molecular structure is produced as follows.
本発明の筒状分子構造の製造方法では、有機膜形成工程に先立ち、基板の洗浄を行うことが望ましい。すなわち、アルカピラニア溶液等を用いて基板を洗浄し、基板の表面において水酸基終端化させると共に、広範囲において表面粗度が0.07nm以下の原子レベル的に平滑な表面となるようにする。これにより、カーボンナノチューブの成長に必要な基板の平坦性が得られる。 In the method for producing a cylindrical molecular structure of the present invention, it is desirable to clean the substrate prior to the organic film forming step. That is, the substrate is washed with an alkapyrania solution or the like so as to be terminated with a hydroxyl group on the surface of the substrate, and at the same time, a smooth surface having an atomic level with a surface roughness of 0.07 nm or less over a wide range. Thereby, the flatness of the substrate necessary for the growth of the carbon nanotube can be obtained.
有機膜形成工程では、例えば、3−アミノプロピルトリメトキシシラン(3−APMS)等のシラン基を有する化合物を用いることが好ましく、0.01nm以上の厚みの有機膜が基板上に形成される。なお、3−APMSに含まれるアミノ基によって基板表面に正電荷が帯電する。 In the organic film forming step, for example, a compound having a silane group such as 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (3-APMS) is preferably used, and an organic film having a thickness of 0.01 nm or more is formed on the substrate. A positive charge is charged on the substrate surface by the amino group contained in 3-APMS.
In the catalyst placement step, for example, by immersing the substrate on which the organic film is formed in a ferritin solution prepared by adding ferritin to the phosphate buffer, the positive charge of 3-APMS constituting the organic film is increased. The charged amino group and the negatively charged iron ion contained in ferritin attract each other, and thereby ferritin is electrostatically adsorbed. In addition, in order to arrange ferritin, in addition to the method of immersing the substrate in the ferritin solution, a coating method or a vapor deposition method can be used. Alternatively, molecular nanowires may be disposed on the organic film, and ferritin may be disposed along the molecular nanowires. As the molecular nanowire, a synthetic polymer, a polymer derived from a polypeptide or DNA (DeoxyriboNucleic Acid), or the like can be used.
ここで、触媒配置工程では、金属触媒粒子をキレート溶液と反応させることにより金属触媒粒子の粒径が所望の大きさに形成される。キレート溶液に含めるキレート剤としては、例えばニトリロ三酢酸(NTA)が利用可能である。 Here, in a catalyst arrangement | positioning process, the particle size of a metal catalyst particle is formed in a desired magnitude | size by making a metal catalyst particle react with a chelate solution. As a chelating agent included in the chelating solution, for example, nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) can be used.
In addition to the above-described method for controlling the particle size by the chelate solution, a control method for causing the metal catalyst particles on the conductive substrate to undergo an oxidation-reduction reaction by an electrochemical method is used in combination. By utilizing the fact that the complexing constant with the chelating agent and the solubility thereof differ from the reduced state, the particle diameter of the metal catalyst particles can be controlled more easily. Furthermore, since the
In the silicide formation step, for example, by performing a heat treatment in the atmosphere at 400 ° C. for 1 hour on the substrate on which ferritin is disposed, the protein portion of ferritin is incinerated and removed, and the metal catalyst particles ( Iron nanoparticles) are immobilized on the substrate. Further, a silicide layer is formed between the substrate and the metal catalyst particles by heat treatment at about 700 ° C. As a result, the metal catalyst particles are arranged at a desired position on the substrate with a high degree of integration. However, since the silicide layer does not have a carbon nanotube catalytic function, the orientation of the carbon nanotubes is perpendicular to the substrate. Only direction. Here, the metal catalyst particles may exist in a state of iron oxide (FeO, Fe 2 O 3 ) or the like after the heat treatment. This is because the catalytic function can be activated by reducing the iron oxide in the growth process. The silicide layer is formed by a thermal reaction between the silane group of 3-APMS constituting the organic film and the metal catalyst particles. Thus, since the silane group material is a compound having a silane group (3-APMS) which is also a constituent material of the organic film, a silicide layer can be formed on a substrate other than a silicon substrate. A substrate, a gold substrate, a transparent substrate, or the like can be used.
In the growth step, for example, it is preferable to use a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method and set the temperature of the reaction gas containing methane to 600 ° C. or more and 1200 ° C. or less, more preferably 900 ° C. or more and 1200 ° C. or less. In this temperature range, the carbon nanotubes grow well, but when the temperature is lower than about 600 ° C., a cocoon-like product is formed, and it becomes difficult to generate the carbon nanotubes. Moreover, it is preferable that the reaction gas contains 20 g / m 3 or less of water vapor. By removing the amorphous carbon deposited on the surface of the metal catalyst particles by the water vapor, the function of the metal catalyst particles as a catalyst is maintained, and carbon nanotubes are generated at a higher density. Here, as a method used in the growth process, an arc discharge method or a laser deposition method can be used in addition to the CVD method, but it is preferable to use a CVD method capable of synthesizing a large amount of carbon nanotubes with high purity.
このようにして作成される本発明の筒状分子構造では、金属触媒粒子を基点としてカーボンナノチューブが成長しているが、カーボンナノチューブと基板との間にシリサイド層が形成されているためカーボンナノチューブは基板に対して垂直方向に成長している。 In the cylindrical molecular structure of the present invention thus created, the carbon nanotubes are grown with the metal catalyst particles as the starting point, but since the silicide layer is formed between the carbon nanotubes and the substrate, the carbon nanotubes It grows in a direction perpendicular to the substrate.
Such a cylindrical molecular structure can be used, for example, as an enzyme sensor by allowing a cylindrical carbon molecule to sterically capture an enzyme. Specifically, for example, an enzyme such as glucose oxidase can be sterically immobilized, so that it is possible to sense more substrate such as glucose than the conventional cylindrical molecular structure, It can also detect minute electrochemical electron transfer when the substrate is trapped by the enzyme. Here, the density (integration degree) of the cylindrical carbon molecules formed on the substrate is preferably 10 15 molecules / cm 2 or less. As a result, more enzymes can be immobilized. When used as such a sensor, the substrate is preferably a conductive substrate.
In addition, the cylindrical carbon structure of the present invention can be used as various sensors. For example, by providing a metal particle supporting step after the growth step, the cylindrical carbon molecules can be captured three-dimensionally to form a gas sensor, a catalyst carrier or a capacitor. Furthermore, a solar cell is formed by providing a metal particle supporting step, or a metal particle and dye supporting step after the growth step, and capturing the metal particles, or the metal particles and the dye three-dimensionally in the cylindrical carbon molecule. Will also be possible.
Moreover, the method for producing a pretreatment substrate according to the present invention includes an organic film forming step of forming an organic film on the surface of the substrate using a compound having a silane group, and a catalyst arranging step of arranging metal catalyst particles on the organic film. And a silicide formation step of immobilizing the metal catalyst particles on the substrate by performing heat treatment or ozone oxidation treatment on the substrate and forming a silicide layer between the substrate and the metal catalyst particles. The “pretreatment substrate” may be any substrate that has been subjected to at least the above-described treatment, and other treatments may be performed as long as the treatment is performed before the growth of cylindrical carbon molecules, such as the above-described cleaning step. It may be. The “substrate” is the same as described above.
このようにして作成される本発明の前処理基板では、基板と金属触媒粒子との間にシリサイド層が形成されており、金属触媒粒子の上側のみがカーボンナノチューブを成長させるための触媒として機能することにより、基板に対して垂直方向にカーボンナノチューブを成長させることが可能である。 In the pretreatment substrate of the present invention thus created, a silicide layer is formed between the substrate and the metal catalyst particles, and only the upper side of the metal catalyst particles functions as a catalyst for growing carbon nanotubes. Thus, it is possible to grow carbon nanotubes in a direction perpendicular to the substrate.
本発明の筒状分子構造およびその製造方法によれば、シラン基を有する化合物を用いて基板上に有機膜を形成するようにしたので、シリコン基板以外の導電性基板などにもシリサイド層を形成することができ、よって基板の種類によらず高配向で垂直方向にカーボンナノチューブを成長させることができ、炭素分子の集積度を向上させることができると共に、感度のよいセンサ等を実現することができる。 According to the cylindrical molecular structure and the manufacturing method thereof of the present invention, an organic film is formed on a substrate using a compound having a silane group, so that a silicide layer is also formed on a conductive substrate other than a silicon substrate. Therefore, regardless of the type of substrate, carbon nanotubes can be grown in a highly oriented and vertical direction, the degree of carbon molecule integration can be improved, and a sensitive sensor or the like can be realized. it can.
また、本発明の前処理基板およびその製造方法によれば、基板と金属触媒粒子との間に予めシリサイド層を形成するようにしたので、カーボンナノチューブの高配向の垂直成長に好適な基板を実現することができる。 In addition, according to the pretreatment substrate and the manufacturing method thereof of the present invention, since a silicide layer is formed in advance between the substrate and the metal catalyst particles, a substrate suitable for high-orientation vertical growth of carbon nanotubes is realized. can do.
以下、本発明の実施の形態について、図面を参照して詳細に説明する。 Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.

It is something that can be done.

FIG. 5 is a flowchart showing a manufacturing method of the cylindrical

Subsequently, in the organic film forming step S2, as shown in FIG. 7A, the
Subsequently, in the catalyst arrangement step S3, as shown in FIG. 7B, the
As the ferritin solution, one prepared as follows can be used. That is, for example, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate (NaH 2 PO 4 .2H 2 O) and disodium hydrogen phosphate.12 water (Na 2 HPO 4 .12H 2 O) in 50 ml of pure water. By dissolving, a pH 7.0 phosphate buffer solution (Phosphate buffer solution: PB) is prepared. Thereafter, the ferritin solution having a known concentration purified in advance is mixed with the phosphate buffer to obtain the ferritin solution.
Here,
Subsequently, in the silicide formation step S4, as shown in FIG. 9, the metal catalyst particles (iron nanoparticles) 12 are immobilized on the
Subsequently, in the growth step S5, as shown in FIG. 10, for example, the
ここで、成長工程に用いる方法としてCVD法の他、アーク放電法あるいはレーザー蒸着法等も用いることができる。 Here, as a method used in the growth process, an arc discharge method or a laser deposition method can be used in addition to the CVD method.
また、成長工程S5を次のように行ってもよい。 Moreover, you may perform growth process S5 as follows.
The
また、触媒配置工程S3では、フェリチン15の代わりに分子ナノワイヤー16を用いることができる。分子ナノワイヤー16によってもフェリチン15を静電的に配置することができるからである。
In the catalyst arrangement step S3, the
Subsequent to the step shown in FIG. 7A, as shown in FIG. 11,
続いて、シリサイド形成工程S4では上述した方法を用いて、図12(A)に示したように、基板10上に金属触媒粒子12を固定化する。
Subsequently, in the silicide formation step S4, the
続いて、成長工程S5では上述した方法を用いて、図12(B)に示したように、基板10上にCNT11を作製する。ここで、図13ないし図15には分子ナノワイヤー16を用いて作製したCNT11の表面の原子間力顕微鏡(Atomic Force Microscope;AFM )による写真を示した。このように基板10の所定の位置に配列させてCNT11作製することができる。これにより、図1に示した筒状分子構造1が完成する。
Subsequently, in the growth step S5, the
成長工程S5に続いて、例えば、酵素担持工程S6を設けることにより、酵素センサ2を作製することができる。
Subsequent to the growth step S5, for example, by providing an enzyme supporting step S6, the
具体的には、CNT11が形成された基板10を酵素溶液に浸漬することにより、酵素を立体的に担持させる。また、オゾン酸化法、酸処理法、プラズマ処理法あるいは加熱処理法を用いてCNT11の表面を酸化処理することにより、CNT11の表面上に様々な官能基を生成させ、その官能基もしくはその官能基と間接的に結合した化合物との化学結合もしくは静電的結合などを用いて酵素を立体的に担持させる。これにより、図3に示した酵素センサ2が完成する。
Specifically, the substrate is formed in a three-dimensional manner by immersing the
このように本実施の形態では、シラン基を有する3−アミノプロピルトリメトキシシラン(3−APMS)を用いて基板10上に有機膜14を形成するようにしたので、シリコン基板以外の基板10にもシリサイド層13 を形成することができると共に、フェリチン等を静電的に高密度で吸着させることができ、よってCNT11を基板10に対して垂直に成長させることができと共に集積度が向上する。
Thus, in this embodiment, since the
Therefore, in the cylindrical molecular structure of the present embodiment, a good conductor substrate is used as the
また、この筒状分子構造は、CNT11に金属粒子を立体的に捕捉させることによりガスセンサ、触媒担持体またはキャパシタを実現することができ、更には、CNT11に金属粒子、あるいは金属粒子および色素を立体的に捕捉させることにより太陽電池を実現することもできる。
In addition, this cylindrical molecular structure can realize a gas sensor, a catalyst carrier or a capacitor by three-dimensionally capturing metal particles by the

The manufacturing process of the
In the first method, the
In the second method, in addition to the above-described control method using the chelate solution, a conductive material is used as the
Further, the
上述した2つの方法を適宜選択して用いることにより、必要なときに必要な量だけ極めて容易に効率良く、所望の粒径の金属触媒粒子12およびそれを備えた基板10を作製することができる。
By appropriately selecting and using the two methods described above, the
以下、その具体的な実施例について、詳細に説明する。 Hereinafter, specific examples thereof will be described in detail.

First, from the results of FIG. 30B and FIG. 31B, it was confirmed that the
更に、各工程後の基板10の表面について、実施例1と同様にしてAFMによる表面観察を行った。
Further, the surface of the
図32には有機膜形成工程後、図33には触媒配置工程後(キレート溶液に浸漬する前)、それぞれの基板10の表面のAFM像を示した。この結果から、有機膜14を成膜した基板10の表面は非常に平坦であったのに対し、図33において観察された粒子は、その粒径が11nm前後であり、X線解析により得られるフェリチンの粒径(12nm)とほぼ一致することから、フェリチン15であることが確められた。
FIG. 32 shows an AFM image of the surface of each
更に、図34ないし図39には、フェリチン15を配置した基板をキレート溶液に各浸漬時間浸漬したのち熱処理した後の実施例5−1〜5−6の基板10の表面のAFM像を示した。
Further, FIGS. 34 to 39 show AFM images of the surface of the
これらの結果から、キレート溶液への浸漬時間が長くなるにつれて鉄ナノ粒子12の粒径が小さくなることが確められた。更に、浸漬時間が30分経過後(実施例5−6)では、5nm程度の鉄ナノ粒子12のみが観測された。この理由としては、キレート剤(NTA)41と反応した鉄イオン12BがAFMでは観測できない0.25nm以下の粒径になったからであると考えられる。
From these results, it was confirmed that the particle size of the
更に、図40には浸漬時間に対する鉄ナノ粒子12の粒径の関係を示した。この結果から、キレート剤への浸漬時間を調整することにより、鉄ナノ粒子(酸化鉄)12の粒径を±0.75nm以下の粒径の分布幅で制御可能であることが分かった。また、浸漬時間を長くして粒径を小さくした場合には粒径の分布幅が狭くなる、すなわち、より均一に鉄ナノ粒子12の粒径を制御することができることも分かった。
Furthermore, FIG. 40 shows the relationship between the particle size of the
(実施例6−1〜6−4)
実施例6−1〜6−4では、金属触媒粒子(鉄ナノ粒子)12の粒径の他の制御方法について検討を行った。本実施例の各工程の条件等については実施例1と相違する点について詳細に説明する。
(Examples 6-1 to 6-4)
In Examples 6-1 to 6-4, other methods for controlling the particle diameter of the metal catalyst particles (iron nanoparticles) 12 were examined. About the conditions of each process of a present Example, the point different from Example 1 is demonstrated in detail.
(アニール工程)
まず、図41(A)に示したように、基板として導電性を有する基板10(金フィルム基板)を用い、この基板10をガスバーナ42を用いてアニールした。

First, as shown in FIG. 41A, a conductive substrate 10 (gold film substrate) was used as a substrate, and this

(Catalyst placement process)
Next, as shown in FIG. 41C, the
Subsequently, in Examples 6-2 to 6-4, as shown in FIG. 43, the substrate 10 (WE) in which the
(熱処理工程)
次に、基板10に配置されたフェリチン15を、例えば、電気マッフル炉を用いて、大気存在下400℃の温度で60分間の加熱処理することにより、フェリチン15のタンパク質部分15Aおよび有機膜14を焼却除去すると共に、鉄ナノ粒子12を基板10上に固定した。

本実施例では、触媒配置工程後および熱処理工程後の基板10の表面について、実施例1と同様にしてAFMによる表面観察を行った。
In this example, the surface of the
図44には実施例6−1、図45には実施例6−4のそれぞれの触媒配置工程後における基板10のAFM像を示した。これらの結果から、電位印加後でもフェリチン15が吸着しており、また、フェリチン15自身の大きさについては電位印加前後で変化していないことが確められた。
FIG. 44 shows an AFM image of the
46 to 49 show AFM images of the

First, the annealed substrate 10 (gold film substrate) was immersed in each aminoalkanethiol solution adjusted to 1 mM for 20 minutes to form an

Furthermore, the electrochemical measurement by cyclic voltammetry was performed about the board |
58 to 61 show cyclic voltammograms of Examples 7-1 to 7-4. 58 corresponds to Example 7-1, FIG. 59 corresponds to Example 7-2, FIG. 60 corresponds to Example 7-3, and FIG. 61 corresponds to Example 7-4. From these results, in Examples 7-1 to 7-3, redox waves derived from
Therefore, for example, as shown in FIGS. 62A and 62B, a thick film portion (an organic film made of aminoalkanethiol having a long alkyl chain length) 14A and a thin film thickness portion (an alkyl chain length). An
Here, instead of the
このことを利用し、例えば、基板10として導電性のシリコン基板を用いた場合には、図64に示したように鉄ナノ粒子12の粒径の大きさに従った所望の直径サイズのCNT11を作製することができる。
Utilizing this, for example, when a conductive silicon substrate is used as the
Further, even when the

In the above embodiment and examples, in the catalyst placement step, as a method of placing the metal catalyst particles at a desired position on the substrate, an electrostatic technique, that is, a positive charge is obtained by using a compound having an amino group. The metal catalyst particles with a negative charge contained in ferritin are arranged on the organic film with a negative charge using the attractive force of the charge. By applying, ferritin or the like may be arranged in a hydrophobic manner, or simply cast (physically arranged). Also by these methods, the metal catalyst particles can be suitably arranged at desired positions, and high-density cylindrical carbon molecules can be formed.
