この第(1)式および第(2)式に基づけば、物体までの距離rおよび相対速度vが次の第(3)式および第(4)式に従って演算されることになる。

即ち、上昇側のピーク周波数fupと、下降側のピーク周波数fdnとに基づいて距離rおよび相対速度vが得られることになる。

Claims (5)
- 電磁波を所定の領域に送信するとともに送信した電磁波の物体からの反射波を受信する送受信手段(6)と;
該送受信手段(6)により受信された受信信号に基づいて物体を検知する物体検知手段(15)と;
前記送受信手段(6)により受信された受信信号の信号レベルに基づいて異常を判定する異常判定手段(16)と;
を備えた物体検知装置において、
前記送受信手段(6)は、送信する電磁波の周波数を連続的に変調可能なFM−CWモードと、周波数変調を行わないCWモードとを切り換え可能であり、
前記異常判定手段(16)は、FM−CWモードの受信信号の信号レベルとCWモードの受信信号の信号レベルとに基づいて異常を判定することを特徴とする物体検知装置。 - 前記異常判定手段(16)は、FM−CWモードの受信信号の信号レベルが第1判定閾値(L1)以下であり、かつCWモードの受信信号の信号レベルが第2判定閾値(L2)以下であるときに異常を判定することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の物体検知装置。
- FM−CWモードの受信信号の信号レベルの前記第1判定閾値(L1)と、CWモードの受信信号の信号レベルの前記第2判定閾値(L2)とが異なる値であることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の物体検知装置。
- FM−CWモードの受信信号の信号レベルの前記第1判定閾値(L1)が、CWモードの受信信号の信号レベルの前記第2判定閾値(L2)よりも低い値であることを特徴とする、請求項2または請求項3に記載の物体検知装置。
- 前記異常判定手段(16)は、FM−CWモードの受信信号の信号レベルの最大値および最小値の差が第3判定閾値(D1)以下であり、かつCWモードの受信信号の信号レベルの最大値および最小値の差が第4判定閾値(D2)以下であるときに異常を判定することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の物体検知装置。
