Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a piezoelectric transformer control circuit that stabilizes an output current flowing on the output side of a piezoelectric transformer.
Conventionally, a cold cathode tube that is lit by an inverter circuit including a piezoelectric transformer has been adopted for a backlight of a liquid crystal panel. FIG. 11 is a block diagram of a
However, it is complicated in design to provide a circuit having a long cold cathode tube with a circuit for detecting current on the high voltage side and to feed back to the input side. Therefore, a circuit for directly detecting the current flowing through the cold cathode tube is often not provided. In such a case, as in the
An object of the present invention is to provide a piezoelectric transformer control circuit that can control an output current without directly detecting the output current.
(1) In order to achieve the above object, a piezoelectric transformer control circuit of the present invention includes an oscillation circuit that oscillates an oscillation signal, a drive circuit that receives the oscillation signal and applies an AC input voltage, and the applied A piezoelectric transformer that transforms and outputs an input voltage, an input current detection circuit that detects an input current of the piezoelectric transformer as a detection signal, and a phase component extraction that extracts a phase component of the detection signal in synchronization with the input voltage A circuit, an integration circuit that integrates the phase component of the detection signal with respect to time, and a differential circuit that generates a differential signal according to a difference between an integration value obtained by the integration circuit and a predetermined reference value. The oscillation circuit receives the differential signal, and controls the oscillation signal so that the integral value approaches the predetermined reference value.
As described above, the piezoelectric transformer control circuit of the present invention detects the input current to the piezoelectric transformer and performs control to bring the integral value of the phase component close to the reference value. That is, a value corresponding to the effective value of the input current corresponding to the output current flowing through the load is detected, and the value is controlled to be constant. As a result, there is no circuit for detecting the output current on the output side, and the output current can be controlled to be constant even in a circuit that cannot directly detect the output current. The piezoelectric transformer control circuit of the present invention performs step-up or step-down with a piezoelectric transformer. Therefore, the circuit size can be made smaller than that of the winding transformer, and the circuit can be easily used for a circuit that needs to be reduced in size and weight such as a liquid crystal panel.
(2) In the piezoelectric transformer control circuit of the present invention, the piezoelectric transformer is composed of two piezoelectric transformers, the input portions of the two piezoelectric transformers are connected in parallel, and two of the two piezoelectric transformers A load is connected between the output terminals, and voltages having phases opposite to each other are output from the two output terminals.
As described above, the piezoelectric transformer control circuit of the present invention connects the input portions of the two piezoelectric transformers in parallel, and outputs voltages having opposite phases from the two output terminals to the load connected between the two output terminals. It has a configuration. Thereby, the phenomenon that the brightness of the cold cathode tube as the load is inclined can be suppressed, the loss due to the parasitic capacitance to the reflector and the casing can be reduced, and a high voltage can be applied to the cold cathode tube. Therefore, the piezoelectric transformer control circuit of the present invention is suitable for use in a circuit in which a long cold cathode tube is used. Even in a circuit where the output terminal does not have a low voltage side and cannot directly detect the output current, the output current can be controlled to be constant.
(3) Further, in the piezoelectric transformer control circuit of the present invention, the piezoelectric transformer control circuit has an input part to which the input voltage is applied at the center, two output parts at both ends, and the two output parts have an antiphase. It is a central drive type piezoelectric transformer that outputs voltage.
As described above, the piezoelectric transformer control circuit of the present invention includes a central drive type piezoelectric transformer, and has a configuration in which voltages having phases opposite to each other are applied to a load connected to the output unit. As a result, a high voltage can be applied to the load while reducing the loss due to the parasitic capacitance to the reflector and the casing. Therefore, the piezoelectric transformer control circuit of the present invention is suitable for use in a circuit in which a long cold cathode tube is used. Even in a circuit where the output terminal does not have a low voltage side and cannot directly detect the output current, the output current can be controlled to be constant. In addition, since the circuit can be configured with only one piezoelectric transformer, it is possible to reduce the size and weight.
(4) In the piezoelectric transformer control circuit of the present invention, the phase component extraction circuit adjusts the phase of the oscillation signal to obtain a synchronization signal, and the detection signal is synchronously detected by the synchronization signal. And a synchronous detection circuit.
As described above, the piezoelectric transformer control circuit according to the present invention performs synchronous detection using the same synchronization signal as the phase of the input voltage by the phase shift circuit, and therefore, even when there is a phase shift between the oscillation signal and the input voltage. Is possible. As a result, the phase component of the detection signal can be extracted, and the output current can be controlled to be constant.
(5) In the piezoelectric transformer control circuit of the present invention, the oscillation circuit adjusts a duty ratio of the oscillation signal so that the integral value approaches a predetermined reference value according to the differential signal. It is a feature.
Thus, the piezoelectric transformer control circuit of the present invention controls the output current by adjusting the duty ratio. For example, in a multi-lamp circuit such as that used in a liquid crystal television, it is necessary to make the frequency of the oscillation signal constant for all the cold-cathode tubes. Even in such a case, the output current can be controlled.
(6) Further, in the piezoelectric transformer control circuit according to the present invention, the drive circuit is configured as a push-pull circuit or a full bridge circuit by a switching element connected to a power supply voltage or a ground.
Thus, in the piezoelectric transformer control circuit of the present invention, since the drive circuit has a push-pull circuit or full bridge circuit configuration, the boost ratio of the piezoelectric transformer can be improved and the efficiency can be increased.
(7) In the piezoelectric transformer control circuit of the present invention, a push-pull circuit, a half-bridge circuit, or a full-bridge circuit is configured by a switching element connected to a power supply voltage or ground, and the input current detection circuit includes the piezoelectric element Of the input current of the transformer, a current flowing through any one of the switching elements is detected as a detection signal.
Thereby, a value corresponding to the output current can be detected without using a differential amplifier or the like. As a result, it is not necessary to provide both positive and negative power supplies in the circuit, and simple detection is possible. In addition, power loss due to detection can be reduced.

The best mode for carrying out the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
(Embodiment 1)
FIG. 1 is a block diagram of the piezoelectric
The
The
The
An output terminal provided on the end face in the longitudinal direction is connected to the
The
The detection resistor 9 is a resistor for detecting the input current of the
The
The synchronous detection circuit 12 synchronously detects the detection signal based on the synchronous signal, and extracts the phase component of the detection signal. For example, synchronous detection is performed by multiplying an oscillation signal for controlling ON / OFF of one of the switching elements with a detection signal as a synchronization signal. The synchronous detection circuit 12 transmits the phase component of the detection signal to the integration circuit 13. The
The differential circuit 14 generates a differential signal corresponding to the difference between the obtained integrated value and the reference voltage Vref. The differential circuit 14 is configured by, for example, an error amplifier. The differential circuit 14 is connected to the
As described above, the piezoelectric
Next, the operation of the piezoelectric
On the other hand, the detection resistor 9 detects the input current of the
Next, the integration circuit 13 integrates the phase component extracted from the detection signal by synchronous detection over a certain period of time to obtain an integrated value. The differential circuit 14 compares the generated effective value with the reference value Vref, and feeds back a signal corresponding to the difference between the two to the

(Embodiment 5)
In the above-described piezoelectric
The
As described above, the piezoelectric

The
The
The
That is, when the set of switching elements P3 and N4 is ON and the set of switching elements P4 and N3 is OFF, the current flowing through switching element N4 is detected. On the other hand, when the set of switching elements P4 and N3 is ON and the set of switching elements P3 and N4 is OFF, the input current detection circuit does not detect the input current. Therefore, the piezoelectric
The
The
For each of the piezoelectric
