Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus and an image processing system capable of performing color calibration and color conversion for each user, and relates to a method for performing color conversion processing of an image forming apparatus for each specified user.
However, the way in which the printed color is perceived may differ depending on the individual, and the perception may differ depending on the color matching with the display device used by the user. On the other hand, it is not an all-purpose calibration.
In addition, in the case of color blind users who cannot recognize colors normally, the color that can be identified is different from that of healthy people. There is a case where the color itself cannot be recognized, or the document becomes difficult to read, and the possibility that the colorization of the office document itself decreases the productivity is very high.
In order to solve the conventional problems, in an image forming apparatus capable of color output calibration (color adjustment) and color conversion,
A color chart output means for outputting a color chart for calibration;
A color chart reading means for reading the above-mentioned color chart in which adjustment information is entered by the user with respect to the output color chart;
A color conversion means for performing color conversion at the time of print output based on the read color chart information and adjustment information;
A calibration user identification means for identifying the user who performed the calibration,
A calibration unit that stores the color chart information for each user identified by the calibration user identification unit, and performs the calibration when the color document is printed or copied. -It is determined whether or not the user has calibrated by means of user identification, and in the case of a user who has calibrated, print output is performed after performing user-specific color conversion, and other users' In this case, by providing means for performing print output after executing the default color conversion in the device, it is possible to perform print output by performing different color conversion processing for each user. Furthermore, because only color information that cannot be distinguished is converted among documents that contain colors that are difficult to interpret due to color blindness, etc., it is possible to provide a printed matter that can be read by people with color blindness while making use of other color information. .
As described above in detail, according to the present invention, in the image forming apparatus capable of color output calibration (color adjustment) and color conversion, a color chart output means for outputting a color chart for calibration. Color chart reading means for reading the color chart in which adjustment information is entered by the user with respect to the output color chart. Color conversion means for performing color conversion at the time of print output based on the read color chart information and adjustment information. The calibration user specifying means for specifying the user who executed the calibration. For each user specified by the calibration user specifying means, in addition to the storage means for holding the color chart information, the calibration document It is determined whether or not the user has calibrated by means of user identification. For users who have calibrated, print output is performed after user-specific color conversion, and for other users In this case, by performing print output after executing the default color conversion in the device, it is possible to perform print output by performing different color conversion processing for each user. Furthermore, because only color information that cannot be distinguished is converted among documents that contain colors that are difficult to interpret due to color blindness, etc., it is possible to provide a printed matter that can be read by people with color blindness while making use of other color information. .
Further, as the merit of this patent, the embodiment of the color calibration of the image forming apparatus capable of color output that has already been implemented, the embodiment such as user authentication for each department of the device, and the user added in this patent Therefore, it can be realized relatively easily.

As described above, processing that combines functions such as reading of an original image, printing of an image, transmission / reception of an image, storage of an image, and input / output of data from a computer can be performed with the
Next, a color chart output from the image forming apparatus in order to perform calibration for each user in this embodiment will be described.
FIG. 5 and FIG. 6 show the output example 1 of the color chart. When calibration for each individual is started, the color chart shown in FIG. 5 is first output in color from the image forming apparatus. The circles are actually printed in the colors shown in Fig. 5.
FIG. 6 is a sample example of a result of marking by the user on the color chart.
In this implementation system, the sample of FIG. 5 and FIG. 6 is one type, but by increasing or decreasing the number of reference colors for the sample, or by increasing or decreasing the type of shade of the reference color, Sampling accuracy may be adjusted.
FIG. 7 and FIG. 8 show the output example 2 of the color chart. When calibration for each individual is started, the color chart shown in FIG. 7 is first output in color from the image forming apparatus.
FIG. 9 shows management table information inside the image forming apparatus that indicates whether or not user-specific calibration, that is, color conversion, is necessary when color chart information is stored for each user and print output or image transmission is performed. is there. The number is a management number, the
Next, a flowchart in the present embodiment will be described.
FIG. 10 shows a flow when the image forming apparatus prints out the color chart shown in FIG. 5 or FIG. 7, and processing for chart output is started in 1001. In 1002, the user gives an instruction as to whether or not to output a color sample using the operation panel of the image forming apparatus main body. If the sample is not output, the process ends in 1004 as it is. If it is determined in 1002 that it is an instruction to output a color sample, a color chart as shown in FIG. 5 or FIG. 7 is output in 1003, and the processing ends in 1004.
FIG. 11 illustrates a flow for marking the output color sample by the user and reading the result into the image forming apparatus. At 1101, the reading process of the sample image (FIG. 6 or FIG. 8 described above) marked by a specific user is started. At 1102, user authentication processing is performed. As shown in FIG. 9, this user authentication is necessary in order to determine whether or not to perform color conversion by specifying a user. In 1103, it is determined whether the user authentication is successful. If the user authentication cannot be performed, the process proceeds to 1106, and the process ends. If the user authentication is successful at 1103, at 1104, the scanning operation of the user-marked image sample shown in FIG. 6 or FIG. 8 is started. In 1105, after extracting necessary information from the scanned image data, the data identifier shown in FIG. 9 is added, and the information is written in the management table of FIG. Thereafter, the processing shifts to 1106, and the processing ends.
FIG. 12 illustrates a flow when a copy operation is performed while performing color conversion for a specific user. Processing is started at 1201, and processing for user authentication is performed at 1202. If the user authentication cannot be performed normally, the process proceeds to 1209, and the process ends. If user authentication is successful in 1203, a copy operation is started in 1204. In 1205, scanning of the copy original is started, and it is determined in 1206 whether or not color conversion is necessary for the user authenticated in 1203. Whether or not color conversion is necessary can be derived from user authentication and the management table shown in FIG. If the user does not need color conversion in 1206, the process proceeds to 1208. If the user needs color conversion, the color conversion process is performed in 1207. Regarding the color conversion processing method, for example, in the case of the marking shown in the example of FIG. 6, it is understood that the user cannot distinguish between “green” and “yellow” and “blue” and “cyan”. Therefore, if black, green, yellow, blue, and cyan appear in the copied document, color conversion processing that replaces them with colors that can be distinguished such as black, red, green, blue, magenta, etc. As an example of the case 8, color conversion processing is performed so as to compress a color space that can be intentionally expressed so that the color space that can be expressed by the device becomes a color space that can be identified by the user. When the color conversion is completed in 1207, the printing operation is started in 1208. The printing operation may be performed collectively after all copy originals have been scanned and color conversion is completed, or may be performed in units of pages for which the
FIG. 13 illustrates a processing flow in the case of color-converting image data for a specific user when image data scanned by the image forming apparatus is transmitted to another device. In 1301, image transmission processing of image data read by the scanner is started. In 1302, the user of the image transmission source performs destination setting processing of the image transmission destination. A document scanning process is started in 1303, and a determination process is performed in 1304 to determine whether or not a user who needs color conversion is included in the destination list set in 1302. If a user who needs color conversion is not included in the destination list in 1304, the process proceeds to 1306. If a user who needs color conversion is included, 1305 is associated with image data for the specific user. The color conversion process is performed at. Different color conversion processing for each user can be derived from the destination list set in 1302 and the management table shown in FIG. In 1306, actual image data transmission processing is performed (for users who need color conversion, the image data after color conversion is processed). When transmission of all image data to all destinations set in 1302 is completed, the process proceeds to 1307 and the process ends.
