Abstract
Description
The present invention includes a unit cell in which an electrolyte / electrode structure in which a pair of electrodes are provided on both sides of an electrolyte is sandwiched between separators, and a stacked body in which a plurality of the unit cells are stacked is contained in a box-shaped casing. It relates to a battery stack.
For example, a polymer electrolyte fuel cell employs an electrolyte membrane (electrolyte) made of a polymer ion exchange membrane. A fuel cell is configured by sandwiching an electrolyte membrane / electrode structure in which an anode side electrode and a cathode side electrode are provided on both sides of the electrolyte membrane with a separator.
In this fuel cell, a fuel gas, for example, a gas mainly containing hydrogen (hereinafter also referred to as hydrogen-containing gas) is supplied to the anode side electrode, while an oxidant gas, for example, A gas or air mainly containing oxygen (hereinafter also referred to as oxygen-containing gas) is supplied. In the fuel gas supplied to the anode side electrode, hydrogen is ionized on the electrode catalyst and moves to the cathode side electrode side through the electrolyte membrane. Electrons generated during that time are taken out to an external circuit and used as direct current electric energy.
Normally, this fuel cell is used as a fuel cell stack in which a predetermined number (for example, several tens to several hundreds) is stacked in order to obtain a desired power generation. In this fuel cell stack, the stacked fuel cells need to be reliably pressurized and held in order to prevent an increase in the internal resistance of the fuel cell and a decrease in the sealing performance of the reaction gas.
Therefore, for example, a fuel cell stack of
A pair of
A plurality of
In said
However, in
Thus, for example, in the fuel cell stack disclosed in
Thereby, in
By the way, in said
In that case, in order to improve the rigidity of a panel, it is possible to employ | adopt the panel with a rib which provided the rib in this panel, for example. However, in the panel with ribs, it is necessary to prevent the bending deformation from occurring when a load is applied in the stacking direction of the stacked body. For this reason, ribs may be provided on both sides (laminated body side and opposite side) of the panel.
However, if the rib protrudes toward the laminate, the rib and the laminate may interfere with each other. Therefore, it is necessary to provide a gap for escaping from the rib between the ribbed panel and the laminate, and there is a problem that the entire fuel cell stack is considerably increased in size.
The present invention solves this type of problem, and an object thereof is to provide a fuel cell stack that can maintain the rigidity of the casing satisfactorily and can be easily reduced in weight and size.
The present invention includes a unit cell in which an electrolyte / electrode structure in which a pair of electrodes are provided on both sides of an electrolyte is sandwiched between separators, and a stacked body in which a plurality of the unit cells are stacked is contained in a box-shaped casing. It is a battery stack.
The separator is provided with at least one concave portion on the outer peripheral portion, and the casing is provided with a rib portion protruding from the concave portion on a side plate disposed on at least one side portion of the laminate.
The stacked body has a fuel gas inlet communication hole for flowing fuel gas supplied to one electrode in the stacking direction, and the fuel gas discharged from the one electrode flows in the stacking direction, and the fuel gas inlet The communication hole is a fuel gas outlet communication hole provided at a facing position, an oxidant gas inlet communication hole for flowing an oxidant gas supplied to the other electrode in the stacking direction, and the oxidation exhausted from the other electrode. In addition to flowing the oxidizing gas in the stacking direction, an internal manifold having an oxidizing gas outlet communicating hole provided at a position opposed to the oxidizing gas inlet communicating hole is constituted.
The recess is preferably provided closer to the fuel gas inlet communication hole or the fuel gas outlet communication hole than to the oxidant gas inlet communication hole or the oxidant gas outlet communication hole. The fuel gas manifold (fuel gas inlet communication hole and fuel gas outlet communication hole) has a smaller opening area than the oxidant gas manifold (oxidant gas inlet communication hole and oxidant gas outlet communication hole), so the fuel gas inlet communication hole Alternatively, by providing the recess in the space on the fuel gas outlet communication hole side, the efficiency of intake and exhaust of the fuel gas and the oxidant gas can be maintained satisfactorily.
Furthermore, the separator is preferably configured in a rectangular shape, and chamfered portions are provided at the four corners. For example, when the side plates constituting the casing are connected to each other by a bolt and a nut, the bolt and the nut can be escaped by the chamfered portion, and the entire fuel cell stack can be easily reduced in size.
Furthermore, at least the inner wall surface of the oxidant gas inlet communication hole, the oxidant gas outlet communication hole, the fuel gas inlet communication hole, or the fuel gas outlet communication hole preferably has a chamfered portion corresponding to the chamfered portion of the separator. . When generated water is generated in the manifold, the generated water can be smoothly collected along the inclination of the chamfered portion, and the drainage can be effectively improved.
In this invention, since the side plate which comprises a casing comprises a panel with a rib, rigidity improves compared with a planar panel. Therefore, even if a load is applied to the casing in a direction different from the stacking direction, for example, a twisting direction, the shape is satisfactorily maintained via the ribs and is not affected by external vibrations or the like.
Moreover, since a recess is formed in the outer peripheral portion of the separator corresponding to the rib portion of the side plate, when the impact is applied to the fuel cell stack, lamination is performed under the engaging action of the rib portion and the recess. The displacement in the plane of the body can be effectively prevented.

As shown in FIG. 3, the oxidant gas is introduced from the oxidant gas
Therefore, in each electrolyte membrane /
Next, the oxidant gas consumed by being supplied to the
The cooling medium flows in the direction of arrow C after being introduced into the cooling
In this case, in this embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 5, the
Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 5, the outer peripheral part of the
Further, in the
The fuel gas
Furthermore, the
