Description

The present invention relates to a skin astringent. More specifically, the present invention relates to a skin astringent that has high safety and can maintain an excellent skin astringency over a long period of time.

Conventionally, skin astringents have been used in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals for the purpose of tightening skin proteins and suppressing excessive secretion of lipids and sweat. However, the conventional skin astringents have a skin astringent effect in the short term, but the sustainability of the effect is poor, and a sufficient effect cannot be obtained within the usage range considering safety. There is. Therefore, there is a demand for the development of a skin astringent that is highly safe and can maintain an excellent skin astringent action over a long period of time.

By the way, although it is reported that the steam distilled water obtained by steam-distilling lavender has an effect | action which gives gloss and tension to skin (refer patent document 1), skin is added to this steam distilled water. It is not known at all that it has the effect of converging. It should be noted that the effect of giving gloss or tension to the skin is obtained based on the moisturizing action of the skin and the turnover of the skin, and is considered to be an effect contrary to the astringent effect of tightening the skin. For this reason, there is no correlation between the effect of giving the skin gloss and tension and the convergence effect.

EXAMPLES Hereinafter, although an Example and a test example are given and this invention is demonstrated, this invention is not limited to these Examples.
Example 1
Pressurized steam distillation was performed using 60 kg of water on 60 kg of the above-ground part (whole plant excluding roots) of lavender (okamurasaki) to produce a distillate containing 36 kg of an aqueous phase and 0.36 kg of an oil phase. The aqueous phase was recovered from the distillate to obtain lavender steam distilled water.

Test Example 1 Evaluation Test of Convergence Effect The lavender steam-distilled water obtained in Example 1 was subjected to an evaluation test of the convergence effect by the following method. This test is generally used in the cosmetics industry as a test method for astringent action, and evaluates astringency by protein cohesion.

First, the lavender steam distilled water obtained in Example 1 was diluted with 9.5 wt% ethanol aqueous solution to concentrations of 0.01, 0.05, 0.1 and 1 wt%, and four kinds of tests were conducted. Samples were prepared. To 4 parts by weight of this test sample, 1 part by weight of a 0.5% by weight albumin aqueous solution was added and mixed for 5 minutes, and then the white plate method was used using an integrating sphere turbidimeter manufactured by Nippon Seimitsu Kogyo Co., Ltd. Turbidity was measured (Test Example 1). Moreover, as a blank test, the same measurement was performed for the case where no lavender steam distilled water was contained, and the measurement value of turbidity was corrected. For comparison, a test was conducted in the same manner as described above using lavender essential oil instead of lavender steam distilled water (Comparative Test Example 1). The measured turbidity indicates the degree of albumin aggregation and is an indicator of the skin convergence effect of the test sample.

The obtained results are shown in Table 1. As a result, it was confirmed that lavender steam distilled water has an excellent protein aggregating action and is useful as a skin astringent. On the other hand, for lavender essential oil, almost no protein aggregation action was observed.

Five male subjects who were judged to have a strong odor were applied with the lavender steam distilled water obtained in Example 1 on one of the subjects' armpits, and the other armpit was not applied as a control. The odor was judged according to the following judgment criteria before application and immediately after, 4 hours and 12 hours later (Test Example 4). For comparison, a lavender oil-containing composition having the following formulation was prepared and used in place of lavender steam-distilled water, and a test similar to the above was performed (Comparative Test Example 4).
<Odor criteria>
0: No odor 1: Slightly odor 2: Slight odor is weak 3: Clear odor 4: Very strong odor <Formulation of lavender oil-containing composition>
Lavender essential oil 1% by weight
2% by weight of surfactant
Glycerin 10% by weight
Liquid paraffin 20% by weight
Purified water 67% by weight
Total 100% by weight.

The results obtained are shown in Table 5. From this result, it became clear that the use of lavender steam distilled water suppresses sebum secretion and sweating and can reduce the generation of body odor. This reduction in body odor is presumed to have been achieved as a result of the combination of the aroma effect with the skin astringent action of lavender steam distilled water. Further, from the results of this test, it was confirmed that the skin astringent action of lavender steam distilled water is persistent, and the skin astringent of the present invention has a skin astringent effect over a long period of time.
