Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a prism lens film used for a display device such as a mobile PC, a PDA, a mobile phone, a notebook / desktop PC, a cash dispenser terminal such as a bank, a flat television, and a flat light emitting device using the prism lens film.
Conventionally, in organic EL light emitting devices, the efficiency of use of emitted light is low, and the screen brightness as a display is inferior to other liquid crystal displays, plasma display panels PDP, etc., so it is desirable to improve the screen brightness. It was. For this reason, improvements such as improving the light emission efficiency by improving the material of the organic EL light emitting element, and improving the light utilization efficiency by stacking the prism lens film used in the liquid crystal display on the light source composed of the light emitting element, etc. Attempts have been made (for example, see Patent Document 1).
By the way, by using the prism lens film, the screen brightness can be improved to some extent. However, as shown in FIG. 12, the incident surface on the
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and a prism lens film capable of significantly improving the use efficiency of light from a light source and improving the screen brightness satisfactorily, and a planar light emitting device using the prism lens film. It is intended to provide.
In order to achieve the above object, the prism lens film of the present invention is a prism lens in which concave and convex patterns are engraved on both the front and back surfaces of a translucent film, and the light introduced into the translucent film is deflected and emitted. A total reflection preventing functional layer for preventing total reflection of incident light is formed on one surface of the translucent film, and the translucent film is formed on the other surface from the one surface. An optical deflection functional layer for deflecting an optical path of light introduced into the optical axis is formed, and the optical deflection functional layer is composed of a plurality of prism lenses arranged linearly.
As described above, since the total reflection preventing functional layer for preventing the total reflection of incident light is provided on one surface, light can be incident with high incident efficiency and can be favorably emitted from the light deflection functional layer. Thereby, the utilization efficiency of the light from a light source can be improved significantly and screen brightness can be raised.
In the prism lens film of the present invention, the total reflection preventing functional layer is composed of a plurality of prism lenses arranged linearly, and the vertex angle of the prism lens of the total reflection preventing functional layer is 60 ° to 150 °. And the vertical angle of the prism lens of the light deflection functional layer is in the range of 30 ° to 120 °.
In this way, by setting the apex angle of the prism lens of the total reflection preventing functional layer within a predetermined range, the total reflection of incident light introduced into the prism lens film is suppressed and the use efficiency is improved, and further the light deflection The light collection effect can be enhanced by setting the apex angle of the prism lens of the functional layer within a predetermined range.
Furthermore, the prism lens film of the present invention is characterized in that an apex angle of the prism lens of the total reflection preventing functional layer is larger than an apex angle of the prism lens of the light deflection functional layer.
As a result, the diffusion of incident light by the prism lens of the total reflection preventing functional layer can be suppressed, and the degree of light condensing by the prism lens of the light deflection functional layer can be improved. It is efficiently introduced into the prism lens film, and a sufficient light collecting effect is obtained.
Moreover, the prism lens film of the present invention is characterized in that the top of the prism lens of the total reflection preventing functional layer is disposed between the tops of the prism lenses of the light deflection functional layer adjacent to each other.
That is, when the number of the top portions is one, the pitch becomes equal, and the light introduced from the total reflection preventing functional layer is transmitted with the emission direction substantially aligned, and the introduced light is condensed to be excessive. Light utilization efficiency is improved by suppressing dispersion. Moreover, when there are a plurality of apexes, the light distribution is more averaged.
The prism lens film of the present invention is characterized in that the tops of at least one of the light deflection functional layer and the total reflection preventing functional layer are formed at a predetermined constant pitch.
Thus, the condensing property of the light from a light source can be improved by forming a top part with regularity at a predetermined pitch.
Furthermore, the prism lens film of the present invention is characterized in that the tops of at least one of the light deflection functional layer and the total reflection preventing functional layer are arranged on the same plane.
Thereby, when bonding a prism lens film to another optical member, both planarity is not impaired. Therefore, the condensing condition does not change.
The prism lens film of the present invention is characterized in that the prism lens is made of a material having a refractive index of 1.4 or more.
Thereby, a sufficient light refraction effect can be obtained, and a good deflection effect can be obtained.
The prism lens film of the present invention is characterized in that the prism lens films described above are superposed so as to be orthogonal to each other in the direction in which the prism lenses are arranged.
Thereby, the transmitted light quantity with respect to two orthogonal directions can be equalized, and a light beam having a uniform distribution on a plane can be obtained.
A planar light-emitting device of the present invention includes the prism lens film described above and a light source provided to face the total reflection preventing functional layer of the prism lens film.
As a result, the light from the light source introduced without total reflection from the prism lens of the total reflection preventing functional layer is condensed and emitted by the prism lens of the light deflection functional layer, and a light beam having a uniform light distribution can be emitted. In addition, high display quality can be obtained, and power consumption can be reduced.
Further, in the planar light emitting device of the present invention, the light source has a pixel display function capable of selecting light emitting and non-light emitting states in units of a plurality of minute regions, and the arrangement pitch of each prism lens of the prism lens film is It is characterized by being approximately equal to the arrangement pitch of pixels corresponding to a minute region.
Thereby, generation | occurrence | production of a moire fringe can be prevented, a light emission pattern becomes uniform, and display quality improves.
Furthermore, the planar light-emitting device of the present invention is characterized in that the light source is an organic EL element.
Thereby, it can be made thin and flexible, and high brightness can be obtained.
According to the prism lens film of the present invention, since the total reflection preventing functional layer for preventing the total reflection of incident light is provided on one surface, the light is incident with high incident efficiency and is emitted from the light deflection functional layer satisfactorily. Can be made. Thereby, the utilization efficiency of the light from a light source can be improved significantly and screen brightness can be raised.
According to the planar light emitting device using this prism lens film, the light from the light source introduced without total reflection from the prism lens of the total reflection preventing functional layer is condensed by the prism lens of the light deflection functional layer. It is possible to emit light beams with uniform light distribution, to obtain high display quality, and to reduce power consumption.

As shown in FIG. 2, the

dtot=dp1+db+dp2
The total thickness dtot of the
dtot = dp 1 + db + dp 2
θ1=θ2= 90°、P1=P2=50μmの場合、dtot=60〜100μm
θ1=θ2= 60°、P1=P2=50μmの場合、dtot=97〜137μm

The preferred range of dtot varies depending on the apex angles θ 1 and θ 2 of the
When θ 1 = θ 2 = 90 ° and P 1 = P 2 = 50 μm, dtot = 60 to 100 μm
When θ 1 = θ 2 = 60 ° and P 1 = P 2 = 50 μm, dtot = 97 to 137 μm
When θ 1 = θ 2 = 120 ° and P 1 = P 2 = 50 μm, dtot = 39 to 79 μm

In the planar

As described above, according to the
In particular, the total reflection of incident light introduced into the
Further, by making the apex angle θ 2 of the
Furthermore, since the top part of the
Further, the top of at least one of the

According to the planar
In particular, by using an organic EL element as the planar

Example 1
In a prism film provided with a total reflection preventing functional layer and a light deflection functional layer made of a prism lens, the apex angle θ 1 of the prism lens of the light deflection functional layer is set to 60 ° and 90 °, and in each case, the total reflection prevention functional layer The relative angle at that time was measured while changing the apex angle θ 2 of the prism lens. In addition, the brightness | luminance in the normal line direction, the brightness | luminance in the predetermined angle range where a brightness | luminance improvement is desired, and the brightness | luminance of all the front light quantities were measured. Each result is shown in FIG. 9 and FIG.
As shown in FIG. 9, when the apex angle θ 1 of the prism lens of the light deflection functional layer is 60 °, the light collecting effect is large when the apex angle θ 2 of the prism lens of the incident side uneven pattern is 90 ° ( Both the normal direction luminance and the predetermined angle range luminance are large).
As shown in FIG. 10, when the apex angle θ 1 of the prism lens of the light deflection functional layer is 90 °, there is no superiority or inferiority due to the change of the

(Example 2)
When the apex angle θ 1 of the prism lens of the light deflection functional layer is 60 °, the prism when the apex angle θ 2 of the prism lens of the total reflection preventing functional layer is 90 °, 135 °, and 180 ° (plane) The angular distribution of luminous intensity with the normal direction of the lens film as 0 ° was measured. The result is shown in FIG.
As shown in FIG. 11, it was found that when the apex angle θ 2 of the prism lens of the total reflection preventing functional layer is 90 °, a stable luminous intensity can be obtained regardless of the angle from the normal direction.
