Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an optical filter that controls transmission of light, an imaging unit that forms an image of a subject, and an image capturing apparatus that generates an image signal by capturing an object via an optical filter that controls transmission of light.
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, techniques relating to image capturing apparatuses centering on digital cameras and various elements constituting such image capturing apparatuses have been rapidly developed. Many of these image capturing apparatuses are equipped with an optical diaphragm, and such an optical diaphragm is a component that requires high-precision light control technology, and many of them operate by a drive system using a motor or the like. . Miniaturization is also demanded for image photographing apparatuses such as digital cameras, and the necessity to promote miniaturization of such an optical aperture while maintaining high-precision performance is increasing.
However, the drive systems that have been used in the past have already been miniaturized to a level close to the limit, and it is difficult in terms of device design to achieve further miniaturization while maintaining performance. As a means for realizing further miniaturization, it is conceivable to realize an optical diaphragm that eliminates a mechanical drive system using a motor or the like.
Here, the method of disposing a seal glass having a dimming function described in
In view of the above circumstances, an object of the present invention is to provide an optical filter, an imaging unit, and an image capturing device that have a quick response speed and a stable light control capability.
In order to achieve the above object, an optical filter of the present invention is an optical filter that controls transmitted light.
A container having at least a light-transmitting region that is light-transmitting;
A light-transmitting dispersion medium enclosed in the container;
Colored colored nanoparticles having a charge dispersed in the dispersion medium;
And an electrode for controlling light transmission by electrophoresing the colored nanoparticles.
Here, the colored nanoparticles are particles having a colored diameter of 1 nm or more and 1000 nm or less. In particular, colored nanoparticles having a particle size of 5 nm to 100 nm are preferable.
In the optical filter of the present invention, transmission of subject light is controlled by controlling electrophoresis of colored nanoparticles having a nanoscale size. Therefore, the response speed when an electric field is applied is faster and the power consumption is smaller than in the case of using large charged particles having a size of 1 μm or more that are generally used conventionally. In addition, the density of the particles is less likely to be uneven when the colored nanoparticles having a nanoscale size are used than when the large particles are used, and an optical filter having a stable light control capability can be realized.
Here, the optical filter of the present invention may be an optical filter characterized by being a stop for controlling the amount of transmitted light in a stepwise manner.
The optical filter of the present invention can control the density of the colored nanoparticles distributed in the vicinity of the light flux by controlling the electrophoresis of the colored nanoparticles, so that the amount of transmitted light is controlled step by step. It can be configured as an aperture.
In the optical filter of the present invention, the colored nanoparticles may contain carbon black, or may contain silica.
Since carbon black and silica are inexpensive, the manufacturing cost of the optical filter of the present invention can be suppressed.
In the optical filter of the present invention, the colored nanoparticles may include a polymer.
Since the polymer has good compatibility with the coloring material, the coloring operation for coloring the colored nanoparticles becomes easy.
In the optical filter of the present invention, the colored nanoparticles may contain silica and a pigment, or the colored nanoparticles may contain silica and a dye.
In the optical filter of the present invention, the colored nanoparticles may include a polymer and a pigment, or the colored nanoparticles may include a polymer and a dye.
Since the pigment has good durability as a coloring material for coloring the colored nanoparticles, the ability to control the light of the optical filter can be maintained for a long time. In addition, since dyes have high color sharpness, an optical filter having a high ability to control light transmission by increasing the color sharpness of colored nanoparticles can be realized.
In the optical filter of the present invention, the dispersion medium may be an organic solvent.
An organic solvent is less likely to deteriorate because it hardly causes a chemical reaction and is stable, and an optical filter with stable performance can be realized.
In the optical filter of the present invention, the dispersion medium may be a hydrocarbon organic solvent.
Hydrocarbon organic solvents consisting only of carbon and hydrogen are less susceptible to deterioration than organic solvents such as alcohol-based organic solvents and ester-based organic solvents, and are stable because they do not easily cause oxidation or reduction among organic solvents. . Therefore, an optical filter with stable performance can be realized.
In the optical filter of the present invention, the dispersion medium may contain a surfactant that prevents aggregation of colored nanoparticles dispersed in the dispersion medium.
The colored nanoparticles dispersed in the dispersion medium may form large particles due to aggregation of the colored nanoparticles. In that case, such large particles are difficult to move by electrophoresis, and the performance as an optical filter is deteriorated. By adsorbing the surfactant so as to surround each of the individual colored nanoparticles, aggregation of the colored nanoparticles can be prevented.
In the optical filter of the present invention, the electrode may have an insulating film coated on the inner surface of the electrode, and the insulating film may be disposed in contact with the dispersion medium.
When controlling the electrophoresis of the colored nanoparticles, the colored nanoparticles attracted to the electrode may be directly adsorbed on the electrode surface, and the control ability may be reduced. By coating an insulating film on the surface where the electrode is in contact with the dispersion medium, adsorption of such colored nanoparticles can be prevented.

The optical filter is
A container having at least a light transmissive region that is light transmissive,
A light-transmitting dispersion medium enclosed in the container;
Colored colored nanoparticles having a charge dispersed in the dispersion medium;
And an electrode for controlling light transmission by electrophoresing the colored nanoparticles.

Further, an image photographing apparatus of the present invention for achieving the above object is an image photographing apparatus that generates an image signal by photographing an object through an optical filter that controls light transmission.
The optical filter is
A container having at least a light transmissive region that is light transmissive,
A light-transmitting dispersion medium enclosed in the container;
Colored nanoparticles dispersed in the dispersion medium,
And an electrode for controlling light transmission by electrophoresing the colored nanoparticles.
The imaging unit and the image photographing apparatus of the present invention have an optical filter that controls transmission of subject light by controlling electrophoresis of minute colored nanoparticles having a nanoscale size. For this reason, the transmission of light can be controlled by a method with a small power consumption and a high response speed. In addition, when such fine colored nanoparticles are used, it is difficult to make the particle density uneven, so that it is possible to realize an imaging unit and an image photographing device with stable light control capability.
According to the optical filter, the image forming unit, and the image photographing apparatus of the present invention, the response speed is fast and stable light control can be realized.
[First embodiment]
Hereinafter, an embodiment of the optical filter of the present invention that controls the amount of transmitted light by controlling the electrophoresis of the
FIG. 1 is a schematic sectional view of a side surface of the optical filter of the present embodiment.
An
The
FIG. 2 is a schematic diagram showing colored nanoparticles and a surfactant adsorbed on the surface of the colored nanoparticles.
As shown in FIG. 2, the
The
FIG. 3 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing the distribution of colored nanoparticles when an electric field is applied to the optical filter shown in FIG.
When an electric field is applied to the upper end portion and the lower end portion of the

FIG. 4 is a schematic diagram showing a configuration of an imaging unit using the optical filter shown in FIG.

As shown in FIG. 5, a photographing
FIG. 6 is a schematic configuration diagram of the digital camera shown in FIG.
As shown in FIG. 6, the breakdown of the
First, the configuration of the photographing
TTLAF(Through The Lens Auto Focus)機能が作動したときに光軸方向に前後に移動するものであり、このTTLAF機能によりピント調節が行なわれる。
The
The
The above is the configuration of the photographing
Next, the configuration of the
When the release operation is performed, the image data read from the solid-

Or the optical filter employ | adopted in said each embodiment may be a colored nanoparticle which contains cheap silica gel as a component and uses a pigment or dye as a coloring material. In this case, the colored nanoparticles are negatively charged nanoparticles. For example, in the case of colored nanoparticles containing a dye and silica gel, such nano-scale fine particles can be produced by adjusting the sol-gel reaction of a silicate in the presence of the dye with a composite of silica gel and dye.
Moreover, the optical filter employ | adopted in said each embodiment may use the colored nanoparticle which contains as a component the polystyrene which is a polymer excellent in compatibility with coloring materials, such as a pigment and dye. In this case, a charge can be imparted by adsorbing the nigrosine compound to polystyrene as a charging agent. For example, in the case of colored nanoparticles containing a dye and polystyrene, the nanoscale fine particles containing polystyrene can be produced by adjusting by a microemulsion method of styrene in the presence of an oil-soluble dye.
In the optical filter employed in each of the above embodiments, polyacrylamide is used as the
Further, in the
FIG. 7 is a schematic cross-sectional view of an optical filter provided with electrodes on the upper end, the lower end, and the side surface of the

As shown in FIG. 8, a large number of positively charged
Here, the basic embodiment for realizing the concept of the present invention has been described above. However, when the optical filter employed in the present invention is put into practical use, dust, water droplets, or the like are attached to the optical path. It is preferable to devise measures to prevent a problem that the performance of the optical filter deteriorates.
For example, it is preferable to provide a water-repellent film on the outer surface (hereinafter, this surface is referred to as a light transmission surface) that intersects the optical path of the container in which the dispersion medium is accommodated. By imparting water repellency to the light transmission surface, adhesion of dust and water droplets is prevented. The material constituting the water-repellent film is preferably a silicon resin, an organopolysiloxane block copolymer, a fluorine-based polymer, or polytetrafluoroethane.
It is also preferable to attach a hydrophilic film to the light transmission surface of the container constituting the optical filter. By imparting hydrophilic oil repellency to the light transmitting surface, it is possible to prevent dust from adhering. As this hydrophilic film, a film composed of an acrylate polymer or a film coated with a surfactant such as a nonionic organosilicon surfactant is preferable. Monomer plasma polymerization, ion beam treatment, and the like can be applied.
It is also preferable to attach a photocatalyst such as titanium oxide to the light transmitting surface of the container constituting the optical filter. Dirt is decomposed by the photocatalyst that reacts with light, and the light transmission surface can be kept clean.
It is also preferable to provide an antistatic film on the light transmission surface of the container constituting the optical filter. If static electricity accumulates on the light transmission surface of the container or is charged by an electrode, dust or dust may stick to the light transmission surface. By attaching an antistatic film to the light transmitting surface, it is possible to prevent such unnecessary materials from adhering. The antistatic film is preferably composed of a polymer alloy material, and the polymer alloy system may be a polyether type, a polyether ester amide type, those having a cationic group, Name, Daiichi Kogyo Seiyaku Co., Ltd.). The antistatic film is preferably produced by a mist method.
Moreover, you may apply an antifouling material to the container which comprises an optical filter. As the antifouling material, a fluororesin is preferable, but specifically, a fluorine-containing alkylalkoxysilane compound, a fluorine-containing alkyl group-containing polymer, an oligomer, or the like is preferable, and has a functional group capable of crosslinking with the curable resin. Is particularly preferred. Moreover, it is preferable that the addition amount of antifouling | stain-proof material is a required minimum amount which expresses antifouling property.
