Abstract
【解決手段】 プラズマトーチ(6)にプラズマガスとして不活性ガス(窒素)を、アシストガスとして、空気よりも比重が重く且つ還元性を有する可燃性ガス(プロパン)あるいは前記可燃性ガス(プロパン)と不活性ガス(窒素)との混合ガスを供給する。アシストガス中の可燃性ガス(プロパン)は、プリフロー区間とアフターフロー区間では供給せず、プラズマアーク発生区間でのみ供給する。

Claims (7)
- ステンレス鋼を切断するためのプラズマ切断装置において、
ガス供給動作の制御を行う制御手段(50)と、
前記制御手段(50)からの指示により、プラズマトーチ(6)のノズルよりプラズマアークとして噴出されるプラズマガスとして不活性ガスを、前記プラズマアークを外気からシールドするためのアシストガスとして、空気よりも比重が重く且つ還元性を有する可燃性ガスあるいは前記可燃性ガスと不活性ガスとの混合ガスを、前記プラズマトーチ(6)へ供給するガス供給手段(17)と、
を備えることを特徴とするプラズマ切断装置。 - 前記空気よりも比重が重く且つ還元性を有する可燃性ガスは、プロパンであることを特徴とする請求項1記載のプラズマ切断装置。
- 前記プラズマガスとして使用される前記不活性ガスは、窒素であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のプラズマ切断装置。
- 前記アシストガスは、窒素とプロパンとの混合ガスであることを特徴とする請求項1記載のプラズマ切断装置。
- 前記制御手段(50)は、一連のプリフロー区間、プラズマアーク発生区間及びアフターフロー区間のうち、前記プラズマアーク発生区間に、前記可燃性ガスを前記プラズマトーチへ供給し、前記プリフロー区間又は前記アフターフロー区間では、前記可燃性ガスをプラズマトーチへ供給しないよう前記ガス供給手段を制御することを特徴とする請求項1記載のプラズマ切断装置。
- 前記ガス供給手段(17)は、前記プラズマガスを前記プラズマトーチへ供給するプラズマガスライン(18)と、前記アシストガスを前記プラズマトーチへ供給するアシストガスライン(20)とを備え、前記アシストガスライン(20)は、前記プラズマトーチ近傍にて、前記可燃性ガスを供給する可燃性ガスライン(24)と、前記不活性ガスを供給する不活性ガスライン(22)とが合流する合流点(90)に接続され、
前記可燃性ガスライン(24)には、前記合流点(90)の近傍にて、前記制御手段(50)からの指示により前記可燃性ガスの流れを制御するためのガス流制御手段(34)が配置されていることを特徴とする請求項5記載のプラズマ切断装置。 - ステンレス鋼の切断に適用されるプラズマ切断方法において、
プラズマトーチ(6)へ、不活性ガスをプラズマガスとして供給するステップと、
前記プラズマトーチ(6)へ、空気よりも比重が重く且つ還元性を有する可燃性ガスあるいは前記可燃性ガスと不活性ガスとの混合ガスをアシストガスとして供給するステップと、
を備えていることを特徴とするプラズマ切断方法。
