Abstract
Description
ここで用いられる「機械方向」という用語は、不織ウェブの形成中に繊維が付着される形成面の移動方向を指す。
ここで用いられる「機械横方向」という用語は、上で定義された機械縦方向に垂直な方向のことを指す。
ここで用いられる「ステープル繊維」という用語は、天然繊維であるか、又は通常のステープル繊維のスピニング及びドローイング工程から製造されたフィラメントから切断された繊維のことを指す。
ここで用いられる「パルプ」という用語は、木質植物及び非木質植物などの自然資源からの繊維のことを指す。木質植物は、例えば、落葉樹及び針葉樹を含む。非木質植物は、例えば、綿、亜麻、アフリカハネガヤ、トウワタ、わら、ジュート、ヘンプ、及びバガスを含む。
ここで及び特許請求の範囲で用いられる「からなる」という用語は、包括的又は制約のないものであり、付加的な、列挙されなかった要素、構成成分又は方法段階を排除するものではない。従って、この「からなる」という用語は、「から本質的に構成される」及び「から構成される」といった、より限定的な用語を包含するものである。
坪量:試料の坪量は、試料の大きさを5×5平方インチに変更したASTM D3776−96に本質的に基づいて測定された。
嵩:試料の嵩は、TAPPI試験方法T411 om−89に本質的に基づいて測定された。相対的なシートキャリパ(単一プライの厚さ)は、米国オレゴン州Newberg所在のEmveco Inc.から入手可能なEmveco制御充填マイクロメータ、型番200−Aを用いて測定された。用いられた充填圧力は2.0キロパスカル(kPa)であり、圧力フット直径は、56.42ミリメートルであった。圧力フットの低下速度は、毎秒0.8ミリメートルであり、滞留時間は約3秒であった。
油及び水吸収能力:吸収能力は、ある期間にわたり材料が液体を吸収する能力のことを指し、その飽和点で該材料が保持する液体の総量に関連する。吸収能力は、液体の吸収によって得られる材料試料の重量増加を測定することによって求められる。水及び潤滑油(10W30)両方について吸収能力を試験した。4インチ×4インチ試料を計量し、次いで5分間液体に液没させ、その後これらを取り除いて、水切りのために吊るした。水に液没された試料は、3分間だけ水切りされた。潤滑油に液没された試料は、5分間だけ水切りされた。水切り後、試料を再び計量した。吸収能力は、吸収された液体の重量を試料の重量で割ったものとして、次の式により、パーセントで表すことができる:
総吸収能力=[(飽和試料重量−試料重量)/試料重量]×100
ドレープ:試料のドレープ剛性は、試料のサイズを1インチ×8インチとしたこと以外は、ASTM D1388に本質的に基づいて測定された。
台形の引き裂き:試料の台形の引き裂き強度は、引き裂き負荷が、最も低い及び高いピーク負荷の平均ではなく、最初の及び最も高いピーク負荷の平均として計算されたこと以外は、ASTM D 1117−14に本質的に基づいて測定された。
剥離強度試験:剥離強度は、ASTM D2724.13に本質的に基づいて測定された。この手順は、積層布のz軸方向の強度(結合強度)を求めることを意図するものであった。布の複合層間の結合効率は、布の層間剥離に必要な力を測定することによって求められた。層間剥離は、結合機構の障害による積層布のプライの分離として定義される。剥離強度は、特定条件下でテキスタイルの成分層を分離するのに必要な引張り力である。この手順では、6インチ×2インチの試験片(機械方向に6インチ)のプライを、試験片の長さに沿って約2インチの距離だけ人為的に分離した。次いで、1つの層を、1インチのゲージ長さで引張り試験機の各把持部の中にクランプして、布の成分層を完全に分離するのに必要な最大力(すなわちピーク荷重)を求めた。7個の試験片が各試料について試験され、平均ピーク荷重が計算された。結果は力の単位で表される。より大きい数は、より強く、より高度に結合した布を示す。

Claims (20)
- 約50重量%から約90重量%までの非熱可塑性吸収性ステープル繊維と、約10重量%から約50重量%までの熱可塑性繊維とからなり、第1の複合層と、
第1の外面において優勢である繊維は非熱可塑性吸収性ステープル繊維からなり、第2の外面において優勢である繊維は熱可塑性繊維からなる、
約50重量%から約90重量%までの非熱可塑性吸収性ステープル繊維と、約10重量%から約50重量%までの熱可塑性繊維とからなり、前記第1の複合層の前記第2の外面に隣接する第2の複合層と、
前記第1の複合層の前記熱可塑性繊維の一部が、前記第2の複合層の前記熱可塑性繊維の一部に融着された結合領域と、
を備え、前記結合領域は、複数の連続的な空隙を有することを特徴とする不織布。 - 前記結合領域が個別の結合点からなる請求項1に記載の不織布。
- 前記結合領域が、z軸方向において、実質的に、多孔性である請求項1に記載の不織布。
- 前記連続的な空隙が、前記結合領域内で吸収された液体の実質的な流れを可能にする請求項1に記載の不織布。
- 前記結合領域が、x軸方向及びy軸方向において、実質的に、多孔性である請求項1に記載の不織布。
- 前記結合領域が、x軸方向、y軸方向、及びx軸方向において、実質的に、多孔性である請求項1に記載の不織布。
- 前記不織布が、約50グラムから約500グラムまでの範囲に及ぶ剥離強度を有する請求項1に記載の不織布。
- 前記不織布が、約50グラムから約300グラムまでの範囲に及ぶ剥離強度を有し、さらに、約40gsmから約300gsmまでの範囲に及ぶ坪量を有する請求項1に記載の不織布。
- 前記結合領域が超音波結合された請求項1に記載の不織布。
- 前記非熱可塑性吸収性ステープル繊維が、パルプ繊維からなる請求項1に記載の不織布。
- 前記熱可塑性繊維が、実質的に、連続的なフィラメントからなる請求項1に記載の不織布。
- 前記熱可塑性繊維が、実質的に、ポリプロピレン繊維からなる請求項1に記載の不織布。
- 前記第2の複合層の第1の外面において優勢の繊維が、非熱可塑性吸収性ステープル繊維からなり、さらに、該第2の複合層の第2の外面において優勢の繊維が、熱可塑性繊維からなり、さらに、該第2の複合層の前記第2の外面が前記第1の複合層の前記第2の外面に隣接する請求項1に記載の不織布。
- 不織布であって、
約50重量%から約90重量%までの吸収性パルプ繊維と、約10重量%から約50重量%までの実質的に連続的なポリプロピレンフィラメントからなり、前記吸収性パルプ繊維及び前記実質的に連続的なポリプロピレンフィラメントが互いに交絡されており、さらに、該第1の複合層の第1の外面において優勢である繊維が吸収性パルプ繊維からなり、該第1の複合層の第2の外面において優勢である繊維が実質的に連続的なポリプロピレンフィラメントからなる、第1の複合層と、
約50重量%から約90重量%までの吸収性パルプ繊維と、約10重量%から約50重量%までの実質的に連続的なポリプロピレンフィラメントからなる第2の複合層と、
を含み、
前記第2の複合層内の前記吸収性パルプ繊維及び前記実質的に連続的なポリプロピレンフィラメントが互いに交絡されており、該第2の複合層の第1の外面において優勢の繊維が吸収性パルプ繊維からなり、該第2の複合層の第2の外面において優勢である繊維が実質的に連続的なポリプロピレンフィラメントからなり、該第2の複合層の前記第2の外面が前記第1の複合層の前記第2の外面に隣接しており、
前記第1の複合層の前記実質的に連続的なポリプロピレンフィラメントの一部が、前記第2の複合層の前記実質的に連続的なポリプロピレンフィラメントの一部に融着された結合領域を含み、該結合領域は複数の連続的な空隙を有し、
前記不織布が、約50グラムから約500グラムまでの範囲に及ぶ剥離強度を有することを特徴とする不織布。 - 前記結合領域が、z軸方向において、実質的に、多孔性である請求項14に記載の不織布。
- 前記結合領域が超音波結合された請求項14に記載の不織布。

非熱可塑性吸収性ステープル繊維と熱可塑性繊維とからなる第1の複合層と、
非熱可塑性吸収性ステープル繊維と熱可塑性繊維とからなり、前記第1の複合層に隣接する第2の複合層と、
前記第1の複合層の前記熱可塑性繊維の一部が、前記第2の複合層の前記熱可塑性繊維の一部に融着されており、さらに、複数の連続的な空隙を有する結合領域と、
からなることを特徴とする不織布。 - 前記複数の顕著な空隙が、液体を前記結合領域の中に吸収して、その中を横方向に流れることを可能にする請求項18に記載の不織布。
- 前記結合領域が超音波結合された請求項18に記載の不織布。
