Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an image reading device used for a copying machine, a scanner device, and the like, and more particularly to a so-called CVT (Constant Velocity Transfer) type image reading device that moves an original and reads image data.
In recent years, as an image reading apparatus, not only reading a document placed on a platen glass, but also moving a document to be read and reading image data from the document, the so-called CVT method reading A device that can also handle (hereinafter referred to as CVT reading) is widely known (for example, see Patent Document 1).
In the image reading apparatus that performs such CVT reading, as shown in FIG. 7, a
However, in the above-described conventional CVT image reading apparatus, the
On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 8, for example, the document transport path in the
Therefore, even if the present invention is compatible with CVT reading, by effectively utilizing the space above the platen glass, the area occupied by the apparatus can be reduced without complicating the original conveying path in the original feeding unit. An object of the present invention is to provide an image reading apparatus capable of realizing reduction.
The present invention provides an image reading apparatus devised to achieve the above object, a paper feed tray on which a document to be transported is placed, a discharge tray from which a document is discharged, and the discharge from the paper feed tray. A document transport path for transporting the document to the tray, first reading means for reading the document transported on the document transport path from below at a first position, and the document transported on the document transport path in the first position. Second reading means for reading from above at a second position different from the first position, and a first back platen that is provided at the first position and that is planar in the document transport direction of the first position. A second back platen having a planar shape along the document conveying direction of the second position, and provided upstream of the first position and the second position. The document passes through the first position and the second position. A first transport roll for transporting a document, and a second transport roll that is provided downstream of the first position and the second position and transports the document toward a discharge tray. It is.
Since the image reading apparatus according to the present invention includes the first reading means and the second reading means, it is possible to read both sides of the document in a single conveyance in a substantially simultaneous manner and occupy the apparatus. A rapid reading process can be performed while reducing the area. Furthermore, the document conveyance path does not become complicated for reading both sides of the document. Therefore, it is easy to achieve downsizing and high speed processing of the apparatus.
Moreover, as in the image reading apparatus of the present invention, if the first position and the second position are provided at different positions, even if the first reading means and the second reading means are provided, The space can be effectively used, and the document conveyance path can be prevented from becoming unnecessarily long, and the apparatus can be prevented from becoming larger than necessary.
Hereinafter, an image reading apparatus according to the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
First, an outline of an image reading apparatus according to the present invention will be described.
The image reading apparatus described in this embodiment is used in a copying machine, a scanner apparatus, or the like, and is for reading an image drawn on a sheet-like document as image data, and further, CVT reading. It is possible to cope with. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 1, the image reading apparatus according to the present embodiment includes a
なお、CCDセンサ16は、MOS(Metal Oxide Semiconductor)型などのセンサであってもよい。
The
When the original is placed on the platen glass 11, the
However, the
Further, in the case of CVT reading, the
On the other hand, the CVT
The
The
The
Note that the
The
For this purpose, the
In FIG. 1, the
Further, a back platen 24o is provided at a position facing the
Here, an example of processing operation in the case of performing CVT reading in the image reading apparatus configured as described above will be described with reference to the timing chart of FIG.
In this image reading apparatus, when a user sets a document to be read on the
When the user gives an instruction to start CVT reading with the start button on the operation panel or the like (step 101; hereinafter, step is abbreviated as S), the microprocessor first sets a solenoid (not shown) so that the
Thereafter, the microprocessor connects the registration clutch 24k after a predetermined time has elapsed (S105), thereby causing the
However, a
At this time, the
Then, the document that has passed over the
Thereafter, the microprocessor repeats the operation control as described above (S106 to S108), thereby reading all the documents on the
As described above, the image reading apparatus according to the present embodiment performs CVT reading.
However, in this image reading apparatus, the
In particular, when the
Therefore, according to the image reading apparatus of the present embodiment, even if it is possible to cope with CVT reading, the space above the platen glass 11 is effectively utilized, so that the
In addition, in this image reading apparatus, since the document reading position A exists in the area of the platen glass 11, it is necessary to move the full-
Specifically, in the image reading apparatus of the present embodiment, for example, when an A4 size document is transported by lateral feeding, the size of the
In this way, in particular, in the case of an A4 size document that is widely used in general, it is not necessary to widen the
In the image reading apparatus according to the present embodiment, a
This will be described in detail. In the CVT image reading apparatus, a mechanism for scooping up the original from the moving surface of the original to the downstream side of the original reading position A in the original conveying direction in order to discharge the original after CVT reading. And a discharge roll for sandwiching the document from the upper and lower surfaces. However, when the original to be read is moved on the upper surface of the platen glass 11 at the time of CVT reading, the
In the image reading apparatus according to the present embodiment, the
This will be described in detail. For example, the
In the image reading apparatus according to the present embodiment, the microprocessor changes the focal position of reading by the
In this embodiment, the case where the focal position is changed by moving the position of the
In the image reading apparatus according to the present embodiment, the CVT
Here, opening and closing of the entire CVT
By the way, as shown in FIG. 5 (b), this hinge is usually provided only in two places for the purpose of reducing the number of parts and the number of assembling steps, and the span as wide as possible considering the weight balance of the platen cover and the like. Is provided.
However, in the image reading apparatus of the present embodiment, since the
Therefore, in the image reading apparatus according to the present embodiment, the hinge 20a for allowing the CVT
Next, a characteristic configuration of the image reading apparatus according to the present invention will be described.
In addition to the above-described configuration, the image reading apparatus according to the present embodiment includes an upper surface reading optical system 25 in the
The upper surface reading optical system 25 is for reading on the surface opposite to the surface read by the
However, in the upper surface reading optical system 25, the
Further, at the upper surface reading position B, the
Note that the upper surface reading optical system 25 is not a reduction optical system in which the CCD sensor 25f receives an optical image via the
Further, in the
The upper surface reading optical system 25 is provided in an upper portion of the
Here, an example of processing operation in the case of performing CVT reading in the image reading apparatus configured as described above will be described.
When the original set on the
The document that has passed through the upper surface reading position B is then moved at the same speed along the
Therefore, in this image reading apparatus, when CVT reading is performed, reading on both sides of the conveyed document is performed in a substantially simultaneous manner. Each read result is electrically corrected / converted by the
As described above, the image reading apparatus according to the present embodiment is provided with the upper surface reading optical system 25 in the
In the image reading apparatus according to the present embodiment, a unit opening / closing fulcrum 24p is provided near one end in the
In the image reading apparatus of the present embodiment, the CCD sensor 25f of the upper surface reading optical system 25 is located in the vicinity of the unit opening / closing fulcrum 24p. This is because by reducing the distance between the CCD sensor 25f and the unit opening / closing fulcrum 24p as much as possible, it is possible to prevent the CCD sensor 25f from receiving adverse effects such as vibrations and shocks caused by the opening and closing, and the CCD sensor 25f installation position. This is to ensure peripheral position accuracy. As a result, in this image reading apparatus, even when a part of the
In the image reading apparatus according to the present embodiment, the upper surface reading position B is located upstream of the document reading position A in the document transport direction. This is due to the following reason. The
Further, in the image reading apparatus of the present embodiment, the upper surface reading position B is located at a position that is inclined with respect to the platen glass 11. That is, even if the
As described above, in the image reading apparatus according to the present embodiment, the occupation area of the entire image reading apparatus is further reduced by preventing the
