Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an electrophotographic recording type image forming apparatus provided with a cleaning fur brush for polishing the surface of a photoreceptor, and a process cartridge used therefor.
A technique for controlling the driving of a motor to suppress banding is disclosed in
However, the photoconductor uses the discharge phenomenon to release the charge placed on the photoconductor by irradiating the photoconductor with light, and uses the charge difference between the spot where the light hits and the spot where it does not hit, However, various toners adhere to the surface of the photoreceptor over time.
For example, oxygen in the air is first ozonized when a discharge is generated to place a charge on the photoconductor, and then reacts with the components in the air to form an ozone product, thereby forming the ozone product on the photoconductor. Adhere to. In this case, ammonium nitrate is produced in a room having a high ammonia concentration.
Further, since the transfer paper always adheres to the photoreceptor in the transfer process, for example, components in the transfer paper may adhere to the photoreceptor over time. Furthermore, in recent years, toners that contain a wax component to facilitate fixing are widely used. However, since the toner always comes into contact with the photoreceptor, the wax component in the toner adheres to the photoreceptor over time. .
Although the tendency varies depending on what component is attached to the photoreceptor, the friction coefficient of the photoreceptor over time changes due to the attachment of foreign matter to the photoreceptor. In addition, when the component adhering to the photoconductor is a highly water-absorbing substance, the moisture is absorbed by the adhering material on the photoconductor, especially in a high humidity environment (such as during a rainy season), and the water has a very low resistance. Therefore, when it adheres to the photoconductor, the apparent resistance on the surface of the photoconductor is reduced.
Then, after applying a potential on the photoconductor using the discharge phenomenon as described above, even if an attempt is made to release the electric charge of only the portion given the light by irradiating light on the photoconductor, The charge in the portion not exposed to the light adjacent to the substrate moves to the portion exposed to the light, and a sharp potential difference cannot be formed on the surface of the photoreceptor.
Then, a so-called blurred image (hereinafter referred to as a blurred image) is obtained. In order to prevent the above-mentioned blurred image, it is also conceivable that the surface of the photoreceptor is made of a material that can be easily scraped and used while the surface of the photoreceptor is scraped with a cleaning brush.
However, if the surface of the photoconductor is excessively shaved, the way of applying the potential on the photoconductor is likely to be unstable, and the photoconductor life will be reached with an earlier time and must be replaced.
In addition, the photosensitive member is very difficult in terms of manufacturing method, and is therefore very expensive. For this reason, if the number of photoconductor lifetimes decreases, the price of the copy will immediately rebound, and there is a demand for extending the photoconductor lifetime as much as possible.
In order to read the variation of the coefficient of friction of the photoconductor based on the torque variation of the photoconductor, a configuration using torque detecting means (torque meter or the like) can be considered, but this leads to an increase in the size and cost of the apparatus. End up.
In many cases, a motor is used to rotate the photoconductor. However, the motor and the driving force transmission path from the motor have objects that obstruct various rotational drives, and the value of the current that flows due to the voltage applied to the motor varies depending on the degree of load.
Also, motors using PWM control are widely used, but when PWM is on and off, it is often repeated at a high frequency of about 10 to 100 μsec, and the current value is detected in time units. In addition, the current value fluctuates depending on when it is turned off when it is on, or when it is switched from on to off or from off to on.
The cleaning fur brush has very high scraping ability because the hair is raised at the beginning of installation, but since the hair gradually falls over time, even if it contacts and rubs the photoreceptor for the same period, The scraping ability differs between the initial stage and time.
Therefore, it is only necessary to replace the photoconductor and the cleaning fur brush at the same time. For example, when the cleaning fur brush is replaced without replacing the photoconductor, the surface of the photoconductor is wasted because the initial rubbing ability of the cleaning fur brush is high. Will wear out. Further, when only the photosensitive member is replaced without replacing the cleaning fur brush, there is a problem in that foreign matter is likely to adhere to the photosensitive member in the initial stage.
An object of the present invention is to change the rubbing condition of the cleaning fur brush by detecting the load torque applied to the photosensitive member driving motor for rotating the photosensitive member in consideration of the above-described situation, and the photosensitive member An object of the present invention is to provide an image forming apparatus that determines a rubbing condition of a cleaning fur brush in accordance with a linear state of a photosensitive member in order to remove foreign matter adhering to the surface, and a process cartridge used therefor.
