Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a vehicle-mounted navigation device, and more particularly to a navigation device capable of appropriately notifying a driver of information that requires attention when the vehicle is traveling on an expressway.
Currently, in-vehicle navigation devices that use GPS are widely used. In this type of navigation device, the latitude information and longitude information of the current position are calculated based on signals from a plurality of artificial satellites received by the GPS antenna, and the vicinity of the current position read from a recording medium such as a CD-ROM is calculated. Map data composed of road information and the like is developed and displayed on a monitor display.
On the highway route, there is a road structure point called “sag” (hereinafter referred to as “sag”) that is difficult for the driver to visually grasp the change in which the longitudinal gradient increases.
This sag point is a point where natural traffic jams often occur on highways throughout Japan, even though it is just a single road. It is known that the natural traffic jam at the sag point occurs in the following process, for example.
First, when the traffic volume increases, if a vehicle with a slow speed is the head, a group of several tens to several hundreds of vehicles is formed. When this vehicle group passes through the sag point, there is a vehicle in which the sag climbing slope cannot be recognized and the traveling speed is gradually reduced. At this time, the succeeding vehicle in the vehicle group does not expect a decrease in the traveling speed of the preceding vehicle, and therefore decelerates more strongly. Then, as this deceleration propagates sequentially to the rear vehicle, this state is amplified, and at the end of the vehicle group, the vehicle may have stopped, causing a natural traffic jam.
In this way, at the sag point on the highway, it is extremely difficult for the driver to visually grasp the change in the longitudinal gradient, so it is easy to perform normal driving similar to a flat road, and natural congestion occurs. It was caused before I noticed a drop in the running speed that triggered.
However, at present, there is no system to inform the driver that the running speed is gradually decreasing while the vehicle is passing through the sag point, and only a notice such as "Caution for speed reduction" is left at the sag point. It is necessary to take measures to reduce natural traffic congestion.
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described circumstances, and the object of the present invention is that the vehicle is traveling on a sag point with respect to the driver, and the traveling speed tends to decrease. It is an object to provide a navigation device capable of reliably avoiding the deceleration caused before it is noticed by notifying by voice message and prompting attention, and reducing the occurrence of traffic jam at the sag point. .
In order to achieve the above object, in the navigation device of the present invention, in the vehicle-mounted navigation device, when it is determined that the vehicle is traveling at high speed on the highway based on the vehicle speed detection result and the position information, Is set to the sag detection mode for detecting the sag, and when the sag point is detected, a voice message is used for notification.

It is also effective to have road position input means for inputting road position information of the sag point.
Further, based on the current position and the traveling direction obtained by the positioning means, the vehicle is traveling on the highway at high speed based on the position information read from the map data storage means and the vehicle speed detection result by the vehicle speed detecting means. When it is determined that there is a downhill state detecting means for detecting that it is a gentle downhill that is difficult to grasp the change in which the longitudinal gradient increases, and a voice message based on the detection result of the downhill state detecting means It is also possible to provide an audio signal generating means for performing notification according to.
Since the navigation device of the present invention notifies the driver that the vehicle has reached the sag point by means of a voice message, the driver can be alerted at the optimal timing, and the traveling speed will decrease without realizing it. It is possible to detect the situation and reliably avoid it, and to reduce the occurrence of traffic congestion at the sag point.

First, a navigation device mounted on a vehicle will be described. The navigation device according to the first embodiment of the present invention has a function of displaying map information stored in a CD-ROM or the like on a display or a current position of a vehicle, and displays it on the map information described above. And a function of calculating a route that can reach the destination in the shortest time by setting the destination in advance and displaying it on the map information described above.
The
In this
Since the signal from the GPS satellite is transmitted at a predetermined cycle, the absolute coordinates are calculated at the predetermined cycle, but the relative coordinates are used to virtually shorten the predetermined cycle. The
The map data storage means 2 stores at least road map information and gradient information of each road as map data. The gradient information may be stored for each unit distance of each road, or the contour line information of the terrain is stored, and indirectly depending on the contour line information and each road position relationship. Gradient information may be detected for each road. Further, altitude information may be stored for each point on the road.
Next, main components constituting the point of the navigation device according to the first embodiment will be described. First, the sag detection means 6 for detecting that the vehicle is approaching a gentle uphill that is visually difficult to grasp a change in which the longitudinal gradient that frequently causes congestion on a highway is visually difficult, is a detection mode switching described later. After the mode is switched by
The sag detecting means 6 includes an accelerator opening detecting means for detecting the accelerator opening of the vehicle. After switching to the detection mode of the sag point by the detection mode switching means 5, the accelerator opening detected by the accelerator opening detecting means is detected. The vehicle speed detected by the vehicle speed detection means 4 with respect to the degree is monitored, and it is determined whether the vehicle speed is in a condition proportional to the accelerator opening during normal driving or whether it is in a condition inversely proportional to driving at the sag point, Based on the determination result, the sag point is determined to be traveling.
Further, the sag detecting means 6 includes road gradient measuring means for measuring the traveling road gradient of the vehicle, determines whether the measured traveling road gradient deviates from a preset angle, and determines the sag based on the determination result. It can also be configured to determine that the point is traveling. By configuring in this way, it is possible to change the angle of the traveling road gradient that is determined to require attention to an appropriate value, so it is always possible for the driver to reach the sag point at the optimal timing. Thus, the notification can be made by a voice message.
The detection mode switching means 5 that automatically switches to a sag-detectable mode is based on the position information read from the map data storage means 2 and the vehicle speed detection means 4 based on the current position and the traveling direction obtained by the positioning means 3. When it is determined that the vehicle is traveling on a highway at a high speed of, for example, about 80 Km / h or more to 100 Km / h or less, based on the vehicle speed detection result of, the sag detection mode is switched. Therefore, the sag detection mode is automatically canceled when it is determined that the vehicle has deviated from preset traveling conditions such as traveling downhill from a sag point or traveling on a flat road.
The audio signal generating means 7 including a speaker is configured to notify an audio message prompting the driver when the
The voice signal generating means 7 stores a plurality of voice messages in advance. Based on the detection result of the
As the voice message content notified by the voice signal generating means 7, for example, by voice synthesis,
“Decelerates on an uphill road. Be careful to accelerate ahead.”
“The speed is falling. Please drive in the left lane.”
“The speed is slowing down. Be careful of the approaching vehicles.”
“The speed is slowing down. Be careful ahead and accelerate quickly.” Or
“From here on, it ’s 3km uphill.”
Announce the message.
By notifying the voice message of such contents, it becomes easier for the driver to judge the situation, it is possible to avoid a decrease in traveling speed, and to reduce traffic congestion at the sag point. .
In addition, after the notification of the voice message, when the driver increases the traveling speed and the content of the notification is improved, the notification by the voice message is stopped.
Further, the vehicle
A second embodiment of the navigation apparatus according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 2 is a block diagram showing the configuration of the main part of the second embodiment. The same parts as those in the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals, and detailed description of common parts is omitted because it is duplicated.
The feature of the second embodiment resides in that road position information input means 8 for inputting sag point information on the expressway in advance is provided for the map data storage means 2.
In this way, by inputting the sag point information in advance using the road position information input means 8, it is possible to notify the user of a voice message such as “Soon, it is uphill” before reaching the sag point. . This makes it possible for a driver who is driving on a highway at high speed to detect the situation before the driving speed drops before he / she notices it, and to avoid it without fail. Can reduce the occurrence of traffic jams.
A third embodiment of the navigation apparatus according to the present invention will be described. In addition, the same part as said 1st Example and 2nd Example is demonstrated using the same code | symbol, and since detailed description of the common location overlaps, it abbreviate | omits.
The feature of the third embodiment is that it is visually difficult to grasp the change in the longitudinal gradient on the highway using the navigation devices of the first and second embodiments described above. A gentle downhill is detected, and the driver is informed by a voice message that a gentle downhill, which is difficult to visually grasp the change in the longitudinal gradient, has been reached.
In the third embodiment, based on the current position and the traveling direction obtained by the positioning means 3, the vehicle speed is increased by the position information read from the map data storage means 2 and the vehicle speed detection result by the vehicle speed detection means 4. When it is determined that the road is traveling at a high speed, a downhill state detecting means for detecting a gentle downhill that is difficult to visually grasp a change in which the longitudinal gradient increases, and the downhill state detecting means Voice generation means for performing notification by voice message based on the detection result.
By configuring in this way, it is possible to notify by voice message that it is a gentle downhill that is difficult to grasp the change in which the vertical gradient increases, so the driver does not notice the change in the vertical gradient, It is possible to reliably avoid a situation in which the traveling speed is naturally exceeded by performing a normal traveling similar to a flat road.
