Abstract
Description

First, the case where the object detection apparatus according to the first embodiment of the present invention is mounted on a vehicle will be described with reference to FIG. As shown in FIG. 2, the
Next, the configuration of the object detection apparatus according to the first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. The
However, the following can be said with respect to object detection. First, since an object, such as a pedestrian, may exist around the entire vehicle, it is advantageous that the imaging range is wide in the horizontal direction. In addition, since the height (height) of an object to be detected, such as a pedestrian, is limited to some extent, it does not have to be so wide in the vertical direction on a flat road. In addition, since a pedestrian is an object having a feature in the vertical direction, it is more efficient to perform image processing if a vertical object is represented vertically even on the image. Moreover, it is easier to detect a pedestrian by image processing when the appearance on the image is not greatly deformed depending on the position of the pedestrian. In addition, although demonstrated to the pedestrian here for convenience, it is not restricted to a pedestrian. For this reason, it can be said that detection based on a cylindrical lens image is preferable. Here, the cylindrical lens image photographed by the photographing means 200 equipped with the cylindrical lens and the fisheye lens image photographed by the photographing means 200 equipped with the fisheye lens will be described with reference to FIGS.
First, a cylindrical lens image will be described with reference to FIG. The cylindrical lens image is an image taken by a
Next, a fish-eye lens image will be described with reference to FIG. The fisheye lens image is an image taken by a
When the image received by the receiving
FIG. 6A shows incident light 601 that has entered the imaging surface of the
Here, a
Here, α and β are calculated from the following equation (3). In the equation (3), φ and θ are calculated by the following equation (4).
In this manner, each pixel of the fisheye lens image can also be converted into a cylindrical lens image by performing coordinate conversion.
The
The
P(x)=Σy{W(y)×E(x、y)}・・・(5) P (x) = Σ y {W (y) × E (x, y)} (5)
The
Next, a detection operation flow in the object detection apparatus according to the first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. As shown in FIG. 9, the receiving
The
