Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an ink jet printer apparatus and method, and more particularly, to a proofer and plate making by an ink jet recording method for making a printing plate and a proof to be printed such as text and / or images printed by the printing plate. It relates to the device.
In color printing, the color proofing operation is usually performed through a plurality of steps. In the first step, an image is displayed on the display of the editing apparatus and proofing is performed. In the next step, an output image from a color electrophotographic recording apparatus, a color ink jet printer (or plotter) or a thermal printer is used. In the final step, a printing plate to be printed is produced by a simple device different from the forming printing machine, and one or more color proofs to be printed are printed using this printing plate, and a large amount of printed matter is printed. Before printing, the validity and accuracy of the printed image are determined. In this case, the printing plate is preferably an accurate image close to the final plate containing fine halftone dots. The present invention addresses the need for an accurate proofer consistent with a corresponding plate making machine.
Conventionally, it is known to use an ink jet recording head to make a printing plate. As a reference for this, there is Patent Document 1, which discloses a method for producing a lithographic printing plate using an ink jet printer. In this method, a substrate is coated with a first material (dissolved in a first solvent), and on this first material (adhered strongly to the first material and to the first solvent). A second material (which is insoluble to it) is selectively applied by an ink jet printer. The substrate is then developed in a first solvent to establish an image. However, this patent does not disclose a method or apparatus for creating a proof to be printed for printing without first making a printing plate.
On the other hand, in recent years, with the progress of ink jet recording, a color proofer for producing a color proof by an ink jet recording technique has been proposed. As this proofer engine, there is a rotary drum type printer equipped with a continuous jet type ink jet head disclosed in Patent Document 2 and
In addition to this, as a proofer engine, a DOD (Drop On Demand) type inkjet head is used, and a DOD (Drop On Demand) type in a direction crossing the medium by a carriage mechanism with respect to a medium conveyed intermittently in a certain direction. A printer (plotter) that moves an ink jet head to record a proof image has also been proposed.
As an apparatus in which a plate making apparatus using ink jet recording and a proof production apparatus can be performed by the same apparatus, Patent Document 4 prints a proof to be printed and creates a printing plate for printing the printing object. An ink jet plate making and proofer device formed as described above is disclosed. Patent Document 4 discloses a method and an apparatus in which two sets of ink jet recording heads are provided as shown in FIG. 5 and a printing plate and a proof are respectively produced using the same apparatus. This apparatus includes a
The
The printing
Typically, dots recorded with an inkjet recording head have a percent area effective range on the printed material that is 15 to 18 percent greater than the percent area effective range on the plate, and the printed dots are larger than the dots on the printing plate. It has been found that it will be 7-10 percent larger. Furthermore, the relationship between the droplet volume (pL) generated by the ink jet recording head and the dot diameter (μm) for the dots formed on the proof receiver is known to increase as the droplet volume (volume) increases. It has been.
Therefore, the dot size to be printed when printing with a printing plate created by one inkjet recording head and the dot size formed on the proof receiver by the other inkjet recording head are the same or substantially the same size. In order to make dots, different droplet amounts are generated by the first and second ink jet recording heads so as to make the final printed product and the proof image coincide with each other. Therefore, this is achieved by controlling the first and second
However, the above-described apparatus requires two types of circuits for driving the ink jet recording head, and the apparatus becomes large.
Furthermore, in the above-mentioned apparatus, consideration is required for handling the
In other words, an image with high accuracy cannot be recorded unless consideration is given to the thickness of the
Also, the ink used to create the proof and the ink used for printing are different in nature, and the proof image cannot necessarily reproduce the color of the printed matter if the dot size is the same. As shown in FIG. 7A, the
On the other hand, in the case of printed matter, as shown in FIG. 8, the
As described above, it is difficult to perfectly match images on different media due to variations in other characteristics such as the dot flight speed and flight direction even when the droplet discharge amount is controlled. is there. This causes problems such as color misregistration and line thickening in the proof image and printed matter.
The present invention has been made in view of such a situation. The purpose of the present invention is to first make an accurate color proof to be printed with the same apparatus, confirm a printed image, and then obtain a printing plate necessary for printing. An object is to provide an apparatus that can be manufactured.
In order to achieve the above-described object, a color proofer and plate-making apparatus according to the present invention comprises a plurality of color image-forming liquids containing a photopolymerizable component, and the image-forming liquid as claimed in claim 1. Proof receiver provided with a plurality of droplet discharge means for generating supplied image forming liquid droplets, and an image forming liquid receiving layer for forming an image with the droplets discharged by the droplet discharge means, and image forming Printing original plate provided with a liquid receiving layer, moving means for selecting a proof receiver and the printing original plate and moving them relative to a plurality of droplet discharge means, and a proof selected and moved by the moving means The image forming apparatus includes at least a curing unit that cures an image formed by the droplet discharge unit on the receiver or the printing original plate, and generates a color proof image by a plurality of droplet discharge units on the proof receiver, Droplet spout And configured to form a halftone image on the printing plate by using a single unit.
According to this, since a printing plate is formed using one of the ink jet recording heads for creating a color proof image, a dedicated ink jet recording head wave for making the printing plate is not required, and the color proofer and plate making with a compact configuration is possible. An apparatus can be provided.
In the color proofer and plate-making apparatus, as described in claim 2, printing is performed with a printing plate in which an image forming liquid is attached and cured to a pixel size and a printing original plate formed on a proof receiver by droplet discharge means. A liquid receiving layer for image formation of each of the proof receiver and the printing original plate is provided so that the pixel sizes of the printed matter are substantially equal. As a result, a color proof image having the same quality as the printed matter can be obtained without changing the operating conditions of the ink jet recording head.
In the color proofer and plate making apparatus, as described in
In the color proofer and plate-making apparatus, as shown in claim 4, the hue of the plurality of image forming liquids supplied to the plurality of droplet discharge means is substantially equal to the hue of the ink used during printing. Thereby, the optical reflection and absorption conditions of the color proof image and the printed matter are almost the same, and a color proof image with good color reproducibility can be obtained and the quality of the printed matter can be improved.
In the color proofer and plate-making apparatus, as described in claim 5, the printing plate produced to produce the printing original plate by a plurality of droplet discharge means is the same color as the color of the ink used during printing. The plurality of droplet discharge means supplied with the image liquid is used for the creation. Thereby, the optical reflection and absorption conditions of the color proof image and the printed matter are almost the same, and a color proof image with good color reproducibility can be obtained and the quality of the printed matter can be improved.
In the color proofer and plate making apparatus, as shown in
In the color proofer and plate-making apparatus, as shown in
In the color proofer and plate-making apparatus, as shown in
According to the present invention, an accurate color proof to be printed is first created with the same apparatus, and after confirming a printed image, a printing plate necessary for printing can be produced.
FIG. 1 shows a schematic configuration of a recording unit of a specific color proofer and plate making apparatus according to the present invention. A proof receiver 1 on which a proof image is recorded and a printing original plate 2 on which a printing plate is produced are selected by a sheet-fed device according to an operation (proof image creation or printing plate creation) selected from a stack device (not shown), and are recorded in a recording unit. Sent. The recording unit is moved by the conveyance unit including the
As shown in FIG. 1, the
Further, the

The image-forming liquid used in the present invention includes at least a plurality of photopolymerizable oligomers or monomers, a photopolymerizable material such as a polymerization initiator and a reactive binder, and a hydrocarbon (non-photopolymerizing) solvent (solvent) such as hydrocarbon, alcohol, A material containing 8% by weight of ketone, ether alcohol, ether, ester or the like, and having a surface that is oleophilic after curing is selected. Commonly used oligomers include polyester acrylate, epoxy acrylate, and urethane acrylate. The photopolymerization initiator generates radicals by light energy (ultraviolet rays), which reacts with a reactive group of an oligomer or monomer to initiate polymerization. Further, in order to color the image forming liquid, color materials of C (cyan), M (magenta), Y (yellow), and Bk (black) are added to adjust the hue to be approximately equal to the printing ink. Since oligomers and monomers alone have high viscosity, it is difficult to form fine droplets at high speed with an ink jet recording head. Therefore, the viscosity is adjusted to 4 to 30 centipoise (cps) with a low viscosity reactive diluent and solvent. The content of the solvent is 8% by weight in order to adjust the viscosity and easily cause phase separation. However, in consideration of the addition amount of the reactive diluent and the viscosity of the image forming liquid optimum for the ink jet recording head. It can be selected in the range of 3 to 50% by weight. In addition, various regulators such as a polymerization inhibitor and an antifoaming agent for preventing a dark reaction are added to the image forming liquid to ensure long-term storage stability and stability.
Next, formation of a proof image and creation of a printing plate will be described with reference to FIGS. As shown in FIG. 2, the proof receiver 1 used for forming a proof image has a
As the filler, in addition to inorganic fillers such as silica, barium sulfate, calcium carbonate, clay, talc, calcium sulfate, synthetic zeolite and zinc oxide, organic fillers such as urea resins and polystyrene resins, white or the like A colorless and transparent material can be used.
Other additives include C (cyan), M (magenta), Y (yellow), and Bk (black) colorants, pigment dispersants, antifoaming agents, antioxidants, UV absorbers, and viscosity modifiers. Water-resistant cationic resins are appropriately used depending on the production conditions, print quality, and required quality.
On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 3, the printing original plate 2 includes a
Furthermore, as a printing original plate 2, a resin film such as PET is used as a base, an aluminum vapor deposition film is provided on the surface of the base, and the surface of the aluminum vapor deposition film is anodized to form a hydrophilic porous layer. Also good. Further, as the base, for example, waterproof synthetic paper can be used instead of the resin film.
In addition, as a printing original plate having a different structure, a substrate in which a porous layer is applied can be used. The porous layer is constituted by applying fine particles of fine inorganic material particles (for example, alumina or a mixture of alumina hydrate and porous silica) and a water-resistant binder together. In this case, polyvinyl alcohol is mainly used as the binder material. In addition, various modified polyvinyl alcohols such as cation modified, anion modified, silanol modified, starch derivatives and modified products thereof, cellulose derivatives, styrene-maleic acid copolymers. Etc. can be used alone or in combination as appropriate. As the coating means, various methods such as an air knife coater, a blade coater, a bar coater, a rod coater, a roll coater, a gravure coater, and a size press can be used. Furthermore, as alumina or alumina hydrate, a porous aluminum oxide having a radius of 30 to 100 mm or a hydrated product thereof absorbs a non-polymerizable solvent (solvent) and simultaneously absorbs and retains dampening water during printing. Is mentioned. As a means for measuring pore physical properties, the pore distribution of the dry solid content of alumina or alumina hydrate can be measured by a nitrogen adsorption method (constant flow method). Alumina or alumina hydrate may be either crystalline or amorphous, and any suitable form such as irregular particles or spherical particles can be used. A gel-like product obtained by using an alumina sol and drying it is particularly suitable. A specific example is coagulated boehmite, which is optimal as a material used in the present invention. In particular, pseudo boehmite sol obtained by drying the sol is preferable.
The porous silica particles, like alumina or alumina hydrate, absorb the non-polymerizable solvent (solvent) and at the same time absorb and retain dampening water during printing. Those having a hole diameter of about 80 to 500 mm are preferred. The amount of alumina or alumina hydrate used is suitably about 5 to 50% by weight based on the porous silica particles. When the amount used is less than the lower limit, the object of the present invention cannot be sufficiently achieved. Conversely, when the amount exceeds the upper limit, the absorption rate is undesirably slowed.
Furthermore, if the pores of alumina or alumina hydrate and porous silica particles are smaller than the color material of the printing ink, it is possible to prevent the color material of the printing ink from entering the pores during printing and causing printing stains.
Furthermore, the structure which apply | coated only the alumina or the alumina hydrate which has a micropore with a binder is also possible. It goes without saying that a printing original plate can be formed by applying a porous material having water resistance and fine pores having a pore diameter of about 80 to 500 mm on a substrate.
The porous layer thus prepared has a structure in which a capillary structure composed of fine pores of inorganic material fine particles and minute gaps formed by the inorganic material fine particles and a binder spreads vertically and horizontally.
Further, dampening water is supplied to a portion of the printing original plate where there is no image pattern in order to prevent bleeding of the printing ink during printing. In a conventional printing original plate, there are irregularities called large waves and medium waves coated with a hydrophilic material on the surface where there is no image pattern, and these irregularities play a role of retaining water. On the other hand, since the printing original plate used in the present invention has a porous surface that is water-resistant and water-retaining at the same time, it absorbs dampening water that is supplied and exhibits the same performance as conventional hydrophilic irregularities. It is something that can be done.
The detailed operation of creating a proof image and printing plate by the recording unit configured as described above will be described.
At the time of creating a proof image, the proof receiver 1 which has been selected and conveyed one by one from a loading table not shown in FIG. 1 is sent to the
When a Bk image and a C image are recorded from one end of the proof receiver 1 to the other end, the
Thus, as shown in FIG. 4 (d), the Bk image C image M image is superimposed on the M image, the Bk image C image is superimposed on the M image, and the Bk image is superimposed on the C image. Further, a Bk image is formed. When a Bk image, a C image, an M image, and a Y image are recorded from one end to the other end of the proof receiver 1, the
In this way, the image forming liquid is ejected from the ink
In the formation of the proof image, the image forming liquid adhering to the proof receiver 1 is absorbed by the capillary portion formed on the
For example, when an image pattern is formed at a resolution of 1200 dots / inch, the droplet size is controlled to 2 picoliters or less, and at this time, the receptive coating layer is a porous silica particle such as a porous silica particle. These particles are formed by applying a single particle or a plurality of particles together with a binder. For example, the porous silica particles preferably have an average particle diameter of 2 to 50 μm, an average pore diameter of 80 to 500 mm, and a pore volume of 0.8 to 2.5 cc / g.
When the quality of an image to be printed is confirmed by the created proof image, a printing plate is created by the printing original plate 2. Four types of printing plates are created using image signals that are color-separated into four colors.
The creation of a printing plate will be described in detail below. When the printing original plate 2 selected and conveyed one by one from a loading table not shown in FIG. 1 is sent to the
FIG. 3A shows a printing original plate 2 using aluminum as a base material. The printing original plate 2 is provided with a
When the
In the above description, the printing plate is produced by the printing original plate 2 and the ink

As is apparent from the above description, the present invention uses at least a plurality of monomers or oligomers as a photopolymerization material and a liquid for image formation containing a solvent (solvent) and a color material as a non-polymerization material, and is lithographically printed with the same apparatus. Possible printing plates and color proof images can be formed, and it is possible to reduce the size by combining two devices that were conventionally required. Furthermore, by making the printing plate different for each color to be printed, it is possible to prevent the plate from being mixed up at the time of printing. Further, since the color proof image is superimposed while being cured one by one, the ink adhesion state similar to that of printing can be realized, and a color proof image closer to printing can be obtained, and the proofing operation becomes more perfect. Furthermore, it is possible to form a printing plate by ejecting droplets from a plurality of color nozzles at the same time, and the plate making time can be shortened.
