The present invention relates to a temperature control device for a Peltier element, and a thermostat for an analyzer using the same.
One type of pathogen testing method is enzyme immunoreactivity measurement. In this measurement, as described in
As shown in FIGS. 1A (plan view), (b) (side view), and (c) (cross-sectional view taken along the line cc in FIG. 1B), the

By the way, the enzyme immunoreaction measurement includes a reaction step of heating or cooling the
In the conventional thermostat, the following were used as thermoelectric conversion elements for heating or cooling.
(1) A heater if the temperature is higher than room temperature and constant (see Patent Document 1).
(2) A Peltier element when the temperature is lower than room temperature or when it is necessary to change the temperature in a short time as in a heat cycle (see
However, in the thermostatic apparatus using the heater (1), the temperature cannot be changed in a short time, and usable measurement items and reaction processes are limited.
The thermostat using the Peltier element of (2) has a temperature difference between the heat-generating surface and the heat-absorbing surface due to various conditions such as the amount of generated heat, the ambient temperature, and the temperature in the thermostat. Heat generation and endotherm are canceled in the element, and the amount of generated heat changes even with the same amount of current, so the control characteristics are not constant and the temperature is not stable. (B) The same amount of current due to the thermoelectromotive force by the Seebeck effect However, since the power consumption changes, there is a problem that an expensive power supply device with a large supply power is necessary.
Furthermore, in driving the Peltier element, (c) noise is generated due to switching for adjusting the temperature, and the reliability of the measurement result is lowered. (D) Repeated heat generation and stoppage between the heat generation surface and the heat absorption surface. There was a problem that the Peltier element was damaged by thermal stress.
In the analyzer, (e) the life of the Peltier element is shortened due to thermal stress due to the heat cycle in which the reaction steps with different temperatures are repeated. (F) When the temperature is changed suddenly, the temperature of the sample is set. (G) When a plurality of thermostatic devices are provided, there are problems such as overlapping of switching-on and increasing the peak current of the power supply device.

Here, the operation of ZVS (zero volt switching) will be described assuming that the COOL signal is High and the HOT signal is Low.
すなわちALI(XLI)の入力波形でALO(XLO)とAHO(XHO)の出力波形となり、BLI(XLI)の入力波形でBLO(XLO)とBHO(XHO)の出力波形となる。図7のBLIがHighからLowになると、BLOがLow(下側MOSFET64Bがオフ)になり、ターンオンディレイ後、BHOがHigh(上側MOSFET64Aがオン)になる。 このとき、Hブリッジ反対側のALOはHigh(下側MOSFET64Dがオン)で、AHOはLow(上側MOSFET64Cがオフ)で一定となる。
The PWM signal is inverted by the gate, resulting in the XLI waveform shown in the input / output timing of FIG. Here, X in XLI, XLO, and XHO represents A or B. That is, the input waveform of ALI (XLI) becomes the output waveform of ALO (XLO) and AHO (XHO), and the input waveform of BLI (XLI) becomes the output waveform of BLO (XLO) and BHO (XHO). When BLI in FIG. 7 changes from High to Low, BLO becomes Low (lower

In step S4, it is confirmed whether or not current data has been received. The voltage output from the
In step S5, the current data is set to the detected current Ir.
Next, in step S6, it is confirmed whether or not heat data has been received. This amount of heat data is the difference in heat amount ΔQ sent from the
In step S7, the heat quantity data ΔQ is added to the control heat quantity Q.
Next, in step S8, a Peltier coefficient Π is obtained from the temperature data. This temperature data is the same as the temperature data sent from the temperature detection A /
Next, in step S9, it is confirmed whether or not the control heat quantity Q exceeds the heat quantity limit. The heat amount limitation is set when the heating QpLim and the heat absorption QmLim are provided, and the limitation of the amount of heat is required, such as restrictions on the Peltier element and the power source. In normal control, 999 and -999 (W) are set and unlimited. If it exceeds the limit, the process branches to step S10. In step S10, a heat amount limit value is set for the control heat amount Q.
Next, in step S11, it is confirmed whether or not the duty Dt is zero. If it is 0 and step S12 is other than 0, it branches to step S13.
In step S12, 0 is set to the thermoelectromotive force Vt.
In step S13, the thermoelectromotive force Vt is obtained from the duty Dt and the detected current Ir.

Vp=Vs×Dt …(4)
Ip=Wp/Vp …(5)

The current Ip flowing through the
Ip = Wp / Vp (5)
The thermoelectromotive force Vt is
Vt = Vp−Ip × Rp (6)
Rp: It is obtained from the resistance value of the
ΔT=Vt/S …(7)
となる。
Next, in step S14, a temperature difference ΔT is obtained from the Seebeck coefficient S. The Seebeck coefficient S is a value unique to the Peltier element, and the thermoelectromotive force Vt (V) is obtained by integrating the temperature difference ΔT between the heat generating surface (the
ΔT = Vt / S (7)
It becomes.
Next, in
Next, in step S16, the control heat quantity Q and the heat quantity Qz are compared. If the control heat quantity Q is equal to or less than the heat quantity Qz, the process branches to step S17 as heat absorption (cooling), and if greater than the heat quantity Qz, the process branches to step S24 as heating. Here, since it is endothermic, it progresses to step S17.
In step S17, a current value Ip for driving the
λp=e×Ip+f …(8)
Q=Π×Ip−ΔT×λp …(9)
Ip=(Q+ΔT×f)/(Π+ΔT×e) …(10)
となる。
That is, the heat conduction λp is
λp = e × Ip + f (8)
The amount of heat Q at the time of endotherm is
Q = Π × Ip−ΔT × λp (9)
Therefore, the Peltier device driving current Ip is
Ip = (Q + ΔT × f) / (Π + ΔT × e) (10)
It becomes.
Wp=Ip2×Rp+Vt×Ip …(11)
Next, in step S18, the limiting current ILim is obtained from the temperature difference ΔT. The limit current ILim is the smaller one of the maximum current value that can be passed through the
Wp = Ip 2 × Rp + Vt × Ip (11)
Calculate as In this example, the limit current ILim is calculated and prepared in advance as a data table ILim [ΔT] corresponding to the temperature difference ΔT.
Next, in step S19, it is determined whether or not the drive current Ip exceeds the limit current ILim. If not, the process branches to step S23, and if it exceeds, the process branches to step S20. Here, it is determined that it has exceeded, and the process proceeds to step S20.
In step S20, the value of the limit current ILim is set as the drive current Ip.
Next, in step S21, the amount of heat QLim lost due to the heat conduction λp is obtained from the temperature difference ΔT. The amount of heat QLim is calculated by the value of the limiting current ILim. In this example, this heat quantity is prepared in advance as a data table QLim [ΔT] corresponding to the temperature difference ΔT.
Next, in step S22, the control heat quantity Q is obtained by the following equation from the heat quantity generated by the Peltier effect of the drive current Ip and the heat quantity lost by the heat conduction λp.
Q=Π×Ip−QLim …(12) Q = Π × Ip−QLim (12)
