Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus having a function of measuring the number of pixels constituting a read document image, and in particular, for a plurality of document images, the number of pixels constituting each document image or the capacity of the document image is set. The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus that performs measurement and determines the print output order on a sheet based on the measured number of pixels or the capacity of an original image.
On the other hand, along with the widespread use of image forming apparatuses, the original image is printed on another sheet by the image forming apparatus, that is, the original is stored, and the original is stored and copied for actual work. (Hereinafter referred to as copy materials) is increasingly used. For this reason, there has recently been a demand for an image forming apparatus that has not only a function of copying a document but also a function of processing the above copy material obtained by copying a document so that it can be easily handled by a user. Yes. An example of such an image forming apparatus is an image forming apparatus as disclosed in
By the way, in the case of materials that require a large amount of data, such as questionnaires or reports, and that require data organization, a large amount of manuscripts were copied when organizing data using the above-mentioned copy materials. It is not difficult to imagine that the work will take a long time because the data will be organized later. In particular, in the case of materials such as questionnaires that have different entries depending on the subject, it is necessary to select the materials before organizing the data. This work becomes more complicated as the number of subjects increases, that is, as the amount of questionnaires increases, and there is a problem that a large load is imposed on the person who organizes the data. In this case, for example, an image forming apparatus having a function of rearranging image data in the order of increasing or decreasing the amount of document description (for example, in the case of a questionnaire) when copying a document and printing it on a sheet. If so, the above problem is solved. However, although the image forming apparatus disclosed in
Accordingly, the present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to measure and measure the number of pixels constituting each original image or the capacity of the original image for a plurality of original images. Another object of the present invention is to provide an image forming apparatus that determines the print output order on a sheet based on the number of pixels or the capacity of an original image.
To achieve the above object, the present invention provides an original image reading means for reading an original image, and an information amount measurement for measuring the number of pixels constituting the original image read by the original image reading means or the capacity of the original image. An image forming apparatus comprising: a plurality of original images read by the original image reading means; and the information amount measuring means for determining the number of pixels constituting each original image or the capacity of the original image. And a print output order determining means for determining the print output order for the plurality of document images based on the measured number of pixels constituting the document image or the capacity of the document image. As an image forming apparatus.
The image forming apparatus preferably further includes information input means for inputting information to the image forming apparatus.
In this case, the type of pixel measured by the information amount measuring unit may be determined based on the information input from the information input unit.
Further, the information input from the information input means is the number of pixels constituting the original image measured by the information amount measuring means, or the reference pixel number or original image capacity for sorting the original image capacity step by step. In such a case, the print output order determining means may group the print output order for the original images to be printed based on the reference number of pixels or the original image capacity.
The image forming apparatus may be an image forming apparatus that performs monochrome development or an image forming apparatus that performs color development.
As described above, according to the present invention, the print output order determination unit included in the image forming apparatus uses the information amount measuring unit to measure each of the document images for the plurality of document images read by the document image reading unit. The number of pixels constituting the document or the capacity of the document image is measured, and the print output order for the plurality of document images is determined based on the measured number of pixels constituting the document image or the capacity of the document image. . That is, in the image forming apparatus, the sheets are arranged on the sheet in the order of the types of pixels constituting the original image (for example, the order in which the questionnaire is filled), or the number of pixels constituting the original image or the capacity of the original image. Can be printed.
For this reason, for example, when rearranging questionnaires, it is not necessary to perform complicated work such as rearranging while confirming visually in the order of increasing (or decreasing) order of questionnaires. Can be reduced. Further, the present invention can be applied to an appropriate sorting operation for the original image such as sorting of data having a large amount of data such as image data and data having a small amount of data such as text.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings so that the present invention can be understood. The following embodiment is an example embodying the present invention, and does not limit the technical scope of the present invention.
FIG. 1 is a schematic sectional view of an image forming apparatus X according to an embodiment of the present invention (hereinafter referred to as the present embodiment), and FIG. 2 is a main control system of the image forming apparatus X according to the present embodiment. FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing a process of printing a plurality of documents in order of the measured number of pixels, which is performed by the control unit 30 provided in the image forming apparatus X according to the present embodiment.
The image forming apparatus X mentioned as an example of the present invention is an image forming apparatus for monochrome development, but the present invention can be applied to an image forming apparatus for color development. The developing method in the image forming apparatus X may be a dry type or a wet type toner, or an ink jet type. Further, the image forming apparatus X may be an image forming apparatus that performs printing processing alone, or may be an image forming apparatus that performs printing processing by receiving a data signal from an external terminal or the like via a network. Good.
First, the configuration of the image forming apparatus X according to the embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG.
The image forming apparatus X is detachably provided with a plurality of
The
The photosensitive drum 11 has a photosensitive layer formed on the surface of an aluminum cylinder having a diameter of 84 mm, for example, and is rotated in the clockwise direction in FIG. The charging device 12 charges the surface of the rotating photosensitive drum 11 to several hundred volts by corona discharge. An exposure device 18 including an LED array head and a selfoc lens is provided on the downstream side of the charging device 12 in the rotation direction of the tourist drum 11, and the exposure device 18 is provided on the surface of the photosensitive drum 11. Is exposed to an electrostatic latent image. The image data used for controlling the light emission output of the exposure device 18 is output from the
A display operation unit 3 (an example of an information input unit in the present invention) such as a liquid crystal touch panel is disposed on the upper surface of the main body of the image forming apparatus X. The
Here, the setting of the print output order refers to a setting that prints out on a sheet in the order of increasing (or decreasing) order of the questionnaire when the manuscript is a questionnaire as described above. Yes. The order in which the questionnaire is filled in a large amount is, in other words, the order in which the number of black pixels measured from the document image data (hereinafter referred to as document image data) is large. On the other hand, the image forming apparatus X is an image forming apparatus that performs monochrome development. In the case of an image forming apparatus that performs color development, the setting of the print output order is, for example, a document in which a color-coded graph is described. Is the setting to print out on the sheet in order of increasing data amount indicated by red in the graph (that is, in order of increasing number of red pixels measured from the original image data). . In the above graph, the data is expressed in multiple colors. For example, when the user sets the print output order from the
The threshold value serving as the reference value for sorting is the number of pixels included in the image data of each document for all document image data, and the number of reference pixels N 1 , N 2 , N This means the number of pixels N 1 , N 2 , N 3 . The threshold value serving as the reference value for sorting in the present embodiment is set based on the number of pixels in the original image, but may be set based on the capacity of the original image (that is, the data capacity in the original image). .
As described above, the order of printing output on the sheets in the image forming apparatus X may be a continuous order such as a rearrangement of questionnaires, or may be set by setting a threshold value serving as a reference value for the above sorting. The order of sorting into stages may be used.

In the developing device 13, when a developing roller (not shown) rotates, the electrostatic brush formed on the surface of the photoconductive drum 11 when the magnetic brush formed on the surface of the developing roller contacts the surface of the photoconductive drum 11. Charged toner adheres to the latent image, and a toner image is formed on the surface of the photosensitive drum 11. Further, in the transfer device 16, the sheet conveyed by the conveyance roller from the

Here, the configuration of the main part in the control system of the image forming apparatus X will be described with reference to FIG.
The entire image forming apparatus X is controlled by a control unit 30 including a CPU that performs various arithmetic processes, a ROM, a RAM, and the like, which are semiconductor memories. The control unit 30 includes a

Next, a process for printing a plurality of documents in the order of the measured number of pixels performed by the control unit 30 included in the image forming apparatus X will be described with reference to the flowchart of FIG.
For example, when a large amount of questionnaires are printed, the processing is performed when the user performs a setting to print out the sheets in the descending order of the amount of entry from the
Here, as a premise of this processing, it is assumed that the user has previously made a setting to print out the sheets in descending order from the
This process is started when, for example, a start button (not shown) provided in the
S1, S2,... Described in the following description represent processing procedure (step) numbers.

Thereafter, the control unit 30 determines whether or not there is a document that has not been read, that is, whether or not the document remains on the document table or the like. If it is determined that the document remains on the document table or the like, the process returns to the step S1. If it is determined that no document remains on the document table or the like, the process of the subsequent step S7 is performed.
In the subsequent process of step S7, the control unit 30 acquires the addresses where the original image data is stored in order of increasing black pixels from the second storage unit 35 stored in the process of step S5. The original image data corresponding to the address is acquired from the first storage unit 34 (S7), and an image based on the acquired original image data is printed on a sheet (S8). Thereafter, the control unit 30 repeats the processes of steps S7 and S8 in the descending order of the number of black pixels until the printing of the document image data stored in the
The information amount measuring function 31 (an example of the information amount measuring means in the present invention) is used for the process in step S4 in the present process, and the print output order determining function 32 (in the present invention is used for the processes in steps S7 and S8). An example of the print output order determination means) is implemented by the control unit 30 using each.
In the embodiment described above, a case has been described in which a plurality of document images are printed on a sheet in order of the number of continuous pixels as shown in the flowchart of FIG. However, with regard to the order of printing a plurality of document images on a sheet, in addition to the above-described order of the number of pixels, a threshold value (N 1 , N 2 , N 3 ...) Of the number of pixels serving as the sorting reference value is provided. Depending on the situation, it can be classified in multiple stages. Hereinafter, a case where a plurality of document images are printed on a sheet in the order of sorting in multiple stages will be described with reference to the flowchart of FIG.
This processing is performed when a user makes a setting to print out a sheet from the
Here, as a premise of this processing, it is assumed that the user has previously made a setting to print out the sheets in the order of the amount of image data in the document image from the
S1, S2,... Described in the following description represent processing procedure (step) numbers. Note that the processing of step S20 to step S25 shown in FIG. 4 is the same as the processing of step S1 to step S6, and therefore the description thereof is omitted here.
If it is determined in the process of step S25 that there is no document remaining on the document table or the like, the control unit 30 stores information stored in the second storage unit 35 in the process of step S24 (that is, the measured number of pixels). N X is associated with the address where the original image data is stored in the first storage unit 34), and original image data having a pixel number N X of N 1 or less is extracted. After assigning “INDEX1”, the data is re-stored in the second storage unit 35 (S26). Thereafter, similarly, the information in which the number of pixels N X is N 1 <N X ≦ N 2 , N 2 <N X ≦ N 3 ... Is extracted from the information stored in the second storage unit 35. , “INDEX2, INDEX3...” Is assigned to the extracted information, respectively, and then stored again in the second storage unit 35 (S27). Note that the processing in step S27 is performed for all threshold values of the number of pixels serving as the reference value for sorting.
When the control unit 30 performs the process of step S27 on all threshold values of the number of pixels serving as the sorting reference value, the control unit 30 sequentially stores INDEX1, INDEX2, INDEX3,... Stored in the second storage unit 35. The address where the original image data is stored is acquired, the original image data corresponding to the address is acquired from the
Here, the above-described INDEX1, INDEX2, INDEX3,... May be any information as long as the information can identify the order of printing on the sheet in the process of step S28.
The information amount measuring function 31 (an example of the information amount measuring means in the present invention) is used for the process in step S23 in the present process, and the print output order determining function 32 (in the present invention is used for the processes in steps S26 to S28). An example of the print output order determination means) is implemented by the control unit 30 using each.
