Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device including a liquid crystal panel, a control board, and a flexible wiring board (TCP: Tape carrier package) for connecting them.
Patent Document 1 describes a liquid crystal display device in which red, green, and blue liquid crystal panels each having a structure in which a liquid crystal material is sandwiched between a pair of transparent substrates are laminated in three layers. On this transparent substrate, electrode lines for applying a liquid crystal driving voltage are patterned, and external lead-out ports for the electrode wiring, that is, electrode terminal portions are provided at different positions in red, green, and blue, respectively, when viewed from above. Arranged so as not to overlap. In addition, a control board is provided for controlling the color of the liquid crystal display device formed in the three layers to form an appropriate screen. The control board and the liquid crystal display device are connected by a flexible wiring board (TCP).
The upper-layer liquid crystal panel, middle-layer liquid crystal panel, and lower-layer liquid crystal panel have a structure in which the liquid crystal material is sandwiched between a pair of transparent substrates. The electrode terminal portions are arranged at positions where they do not overlap when viewed from above. For this reason, the TCPs connecting the layers and the control board do not overlap each other when viewed from above.
In the liquid crystal display device in which the conventional three types of liquid crystal panels described in Patent Document 1 are stacked, the electrode terminal portions are shifted for each layer of the liquid crystal panel, and the TCP connecting each layer and the control board is from the top. It was arranged so that it would not overlap when viewed. Therefore, there is a problem that the wiring area by TCP is large and three types of liquid crystal panels are required, which increases the cost. That is, since a transparent substrate having a different pattern is required for each of the three color layers, there is a problem of designing three types of patterns.
Moreover, in the structure in which the conventional TCPs are arranged, there is a problem in heat dissipation performance because of poor ventilation.
The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems. A liquid crystal display device in which a transparent substrate provided in each laminated liquid crystal panel is made the same, and mass production of the transparent substrate is improved. The purpose is to obtain.
In the liquid crystal display device according to the present invention, a liquid crystal panel portion formed by laminating a plurality of liquid crystal panels each having the same conductor pattern and the electrode terminal portion at the same position, and a control signal for display by the liquid crystal panel portion And a flexible wiring board arranged to connect the electrode terminal portion of the liquid crystal panel and the control board.
As described above, the present invention provides a liquid crystal panel portion formed by laminating a plurality of liquid crystal panels each having the same conductor pattern and electrode terminal portions at the same position, and a control signal for display by the liquid crystal panel portion. And a flexible wiring board disposed so as to connect the electrode terminal portion of the liquid crystal panel and the control board, so that the liquid crystal panel having the same conductor pattern and the electrode terminal portion at the same position is laminated. As a result, the cost can be reduced by sharing the components, and the flexible wiring board is connected to be overlapped by being connected to the electrode terminal portion at the same position. The wiring area can be reduced.

Next, the operation will be described.
In the first embodiment, the upper-layer liquid crystal panel, the middle-layer liquid crystal panel, and the lower-layer liquid crystal panel constituting the liquid crystal display device are unified into the common-layer
The
The
FIG. 5 shows the
As shown in FIG. 5, the TCP 20 having a shape as shown in FIG. 6 connects the
According to the first embodiment, as described above, only the common-layer
