Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a casting apparatus for producing a silicon polycrystal having a radiation thermometer that detects a temperature between a melting crucible nozzle and a mold in a non-contact manner.
Solar cells are expected to be put to practical use in a wide range of fields, from small households to large-scale power generation systems, as a clean petroleum alternative energy source. These are classified into crystalline, amorphous, and compound types depending on the type of raw materials used, and most of them currently on the market are crystalline silicon solar cells. This crystalline silicon solar cell is further classified into a single crystal type and a polycrystalline type. Single crystal silicon solar cells have the advantage that the conversion efficiency is easy to increase because the quality of the substrate is good, but the disadvantage is that the manufacturing cost of the substrate is high.
On the other hand, polycrystalline silicon solar cells have been distributed in the market for a long time, but in recent years, the demand is increasing as interest in environmental issues is increasing, and higher conversion efficiency is required at lower cost. . In order to cope with such a demand, it is necessary to reduce the cost and quality of the polycrystalline silicon substrate, and it is required to produce a high-purity silicon ingot with a high yield.
A polycrystalline silicon substrate used for a polycrystalline silicon solar cell is generally manufactured by a method called a casting method. In this casting method, a silicon melt melted by heating at a high temperature is poured into a mold made of graphite or the like coated with a release material and solidified in one direction from the bottom of the mold, or a silicon raw material is placed in the mold and dissolved once. Then, the silicon ingot is formed by unidirectionally solidifying from the bottom again. The ends of the silicon ingot are removed, cut into a desired size, and the cut silicon ingot is sliced to a desired thickness to obtain a polycrystalline silicon substrate for forming a solar cell.
A general casting apparatus for producing such a polycrystalline silicon ingot is shown in FIG.
A
The
Since the high-
Although it is necessary to warm the
Furthermore, after the solidification is completed, if the silicon is cooled rapidly, cracks such as cracks are generated in the silicon ingot. Therefore, in order to gradually cool the silicon ingot, it is necessary to control the mold heating means 8 and gradually cool it.
Therefore, in order to control the temperature of the mold heating means 8, it is necessary to detect the timing of the start of pouring and the end of solidification. As a method for this, conventionally, an operator monitors the casting apparatus from the time of the end of pouring or solidification. Although a method of visually confirming the start of pouring and the end of solidification has been used, when there are a plurality of casting apparatuses, a plurality of workers are required, and labor costs are increased, resulting in high costs.
In
However, when the thermocouple 15 is used, there is a problem that the detection of the hot water is delayed due to the poor reactivity of the thermocouple 15, and the
When the
Further, since the
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described conventional problems. The required temperature is easily and reliably detected, more effectively automated to control the temperature of the mold heating means, and high quality silicon. It aims at providing the casting apparatus which obtains an ingot at low cost.
In order to achieve the above object, a casting apparatus according to
According to a second aspect of the present invention, there is provided a casting apparatus according to the first aspect, wherein the radiation thermometer corresponds to a liquid surface position of the silicon melt when the pouring is completed in the mold. It arrange | positions so that the direct lower part of the said nozzle may be monitored.
The casting apparatus according to
Furthermore, a casting apparatus according to a fourth aspect of the present invention is the casting apparatus according to any one of the first to third aspects, wherein the nozzle has a projected shape obtained by projecting the contour shape of the inner periphery of the outlet portion vertically downward. It was rectangular or elliptical, and the longitudinal direction of this projected shape was the same as the projected line that was projected vertically downward on the straight line that coincided with the monitoring direction of the radiation thermometer.
As described above, according to the present invention, a melting crucible for discharging a silicon melt obtained by heating and melting a silicon raw material from a hot water outlet provided at the bottom, a nozzle provided depending on the hot water outlet, and the melting crucible Between the mold and the melting crucible, a mold having a side part and a bottom part and having an opening at the top, a mold heat insulating material disposed so as to surround the outer periphery of the side part of the mold, The mold heating means disposed in the mold, the cooling means disposed below the mold, the radiation thermometer disposed so as to monitor a portion directly below the nozzle, and the radiation thermometer were measured. Temperature control means for controlling the heating state of the mold heating means based on the temperature. Since the silicon melt immediately after tapping from the nozzle is directly monitored by a radiation thermometer, the measurement response is very good and the temperature of the mold heating means can be controlled more reliably.
In addition, the radiation thermometer is arranged so as to monitor a portion immediately below the nozzle corresponding to the liquid surface position of the silicon melt when the hot water is completed inside the mold. In addition, the surface temperature of the silicon melt can be continuously monitored, and the temperature temperature is controlled by the temperature control means so that the surface temperature of the silicon melt is kept constant and the surface of the silicon melt is not solidified by removing heat from the surface. Since the temperature of the mold heating means can be controlled, the silicon melt inside the mold can be reliably solidified in one direction. In addition, since the monitoring direction of the radiation thermometer is the surface portion of the silicon melt after being poured into the mold, it is not necessary to make the distance between the melting crucible nozzle and the mold unnecessarily large. Since the monitoring direction is fixed at one point without increasing the size, there is no need to accompany the function of moving the radiation thermometer, and the cost can be reduced.
The side and bottom of the mold are provided with a release material layer on the inner side of the mold, and the radiation thermometer is arranged so that the release material layer of the side is located on an extension line in the monitoring direction. ing. By this, since the temperature of the release material layer can also be monitored by a radiation thermometer, if the temperature control of the mold heating means is performed so as to be a temperature region in which the release material layer is not peeled off, There is no possibility that the release material layer is peeled off and mixed into the discharged silicon melt, or the solidified silicon ingot and the mold adhere to each other and damage the mold or the ingot. In addition, since the monitoring position is limited to one point, there is no need to accompany the function of moving the radiation thermometer, and there is no need to install a separate temperature measuring device such as a thermocouple, thereby reducing costs. it can.
Furthermore, the nozzle has a rectangular or elliptical projection shape that projects the contour shape of the inner circumference of the outlet portion vertically downward, and the longitudinal direction of the projection shape is a straight line that matches the monitoring direction of the radiation thermometer. As the projected line is in the same direction as the projected line, the molten silicon melt effectively passes through the monitoring range of the radiation thermometer, and the temperature can be detected with less error. Deviation between the monitoring range and the silicon melt falling on the mold can be further reduced, and leak detection detection can be prevented.
As described above, in the present invention, the temperature of the release material layer applied to the mold before pouring, the detection of the hot water, the surface temperature of the silicon melt, the detection of the completion of solidification, and the surface temperature of the silicon ingot are managed by the radiation thermometer. The temperature of the mold heating means can be controlled, reducing the burden on the operator, eliminating problems such as waiting for the operator, and automatically shifting to the solidification process and cooling process of the silicon melt. It can be performed.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 is a view showing a casting apparatus according to the present invention. As shown in FIG. 1, the
The size of the
A
At the beginning of the hot water, the melt passing through the
An upper heating means 6 and a side heating means 7 are disposed at the upper and side portions of the
A
In addition, it is desirable to apply the
A mold heat insulating material 11 is provided on the side of the
A mold heating means 8 is disposed between the
A cooling means 12 is provided below the
Further, in the present invention, a
Next, a method for controlling the melted silicon melt according to the above-described configuration of the present invention will be described.
First, the silicon raw material 13 is supplied into the
At this time, conventionally, the operator has checked the timing of the hot water visually, or has checked the timing of the hot water by the temperature rise of the thermocouple or radiation thermometer provided in the mold. However, according to the configuration of the present invention, since the

Conventionally, the detection of the hot water was performed by detecting the surface of the thermocouple 15 applied to the
In addition, the
In the solidification process of the
Further, the
In this way, the bottom of the
Furthermore, in the above description, it has been described that the side member 9b and the bottom member 9a of the
Further, since the temperature of the mold heating means 8 is raised after the hot water is detected and the silicon melt is discharged into the
Further, in the present invention, the
FIG. 2 is a view when the
Thus, if the inner peripheral projection shape 5a applied to the
Further, as shown in FIG. 2, it is desirable to arrange the
As described above, in the present invention, the
It should be noted that the embodiment of the present invention is not limited to the above-described example, and it is needless to say that various modifications can be made without departing from the gist of the present invention.
