歯科咬合器においては、図1に示されるような、2つの位置決めピンによって取り付け位置の規制を行う場合、大小各種の模型が存在することから輪郭部分に近い所に位置決めピンを設けることができず、口蓋部分と呼ばれる馬蹄型歯列の内側に設置せざるを得ないという制約がある。このように、上記の狭い範囲内で二つのガイドピンを設定せざるを得ない場合、現実的には位置決めピン10,10’の直径(外径)は2mm〜4mmの範囲が好ましく、位置決めピンに有利な大きな径が取りにくい。
図3は、人間の頭部を模した頭部模型12に、本発明の歯科咬合器を取り付けた際の各部の位置関係を示す図であり、この図面には、マグネット7の中心孔と突起部材6の位置関係、マグネット吸着板5のU字状切り欠き部9と位置決めピン10の位置関係及び、マグネット吸着板5の位置決め孔11と位置決めピン10’の位置関係が示されている。
