Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus, and more particularly to measurement of information related to a local distortion of a tissue.
In order to diagnose heart diseases such as myocardial infarction, a technique for diagnosing local strain (strain) or strain rate (strain rate) of tissue (myocardium) using ultrasound transmission / reception has been proposed. Yes.
Conventionally, a tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) method that obtains myocardial motion information in accordance with an ultrasonic Doppler method has been used to measure information related to a local strain of tissue. That is, according to the TDI method, the motion speed information of the tissue at each position is obtained, and the strain or strain rate is obtained by performing the following calculation using the information.
From the above relationship, if the spatial gradient is obtained for the tissue velocity obtained by the TDI method, the strain velocity can be obtained as a result. Then, if the strain rate is integrated over time, the strain can be obtained. Such a strain or strain rate is displayed as a waveform as a temporal change of a certain point, or is expressed for each point on the scanning plane and displayed as a two-dimensional image (strain imaging (SI) method, strain rate imaging). (SRI) method).
In the calculation method as described above, since the difference calculation of the local velocity is performed when obtaining the strain and the strain rate, a part or all of the influence of the translational motion of the entire heart and the peripheral myocardial motion is canceled. .
In the following Patent Document 2 (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 9-31486), a displacement motion waveform and a velocity waveform are measured at two points separated by a minute distance, and the difference between the displacement motion waveform and the velocity waveform are measured between the two points. The technique which calculates | requires the speed of the thickness and thickness change by calculating | requiring the difference of these is disclosed. For this purpose, each point is tracked. The document does not disclose any RF signal tracking or strain. Patent Document 3 (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2003-79627) below discloses a technique for searching a myocardium on an ultrasound image and tracking it. This is image signal tracking, which is a technique different from RF signal tracking. Further, there is no description regarding the strain. The following Patent Document 4 (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2002-17724) discloses an echo tracking technique, which is a technique for moving a region of interest (ROI) in conjunction with the movement of the myocardium. Yes, no strain is disclosed.
In the conventional method for measuring strain and the like based on the above TDI method, a spatial difference calculation or a spatial differential calculation is required to obtain a velocity spatial gradient. For this reason, it is possible to point out the problem of being easily affected by noise and speed fluctuation, that is, the problem of accuracy. In order to prevent this, a smoothing process is applied in the distance direction (depth direction) and the azimuth direction (beam scanning direction) to eliminate errors as much as possible. However, in that case, a considerably large ROI is required for smoothing, which causes a problem of spatial resolution. Also, in the conventional method, focusing on the relationship between the observation point and the tissue, the observation point is maintained at the absolute position even if the tissue moves, so the points on the same organization are not always measured. It can be pointed out that there is no.
An object of the present invention is to realize a new measurement method for obtaining information on local strain of tissue.
Another object of the present invention is to make it possible to accurately measure information related to a local strain of tissue.
(1) The present invention relates to a transmission / reception unit that repeatedly transmits / receives ultrasonic waves to / from a target tissue and sequentially outputs an RF signal as a reception signal; Displacement calculating means for performing tracking on a plurality of points corresponding to the plurality of sample points in the RF signal sequentially output from the setting means and the wave transmitting / receiving means, thereby measuring tissue displacement at the plurality of sample points And information calculation means for calculating information on tissue strain based on the tissue displacement measured for the plurality of sample points.
According to the above configuration, the information on the tissue strain is calculated from the measurement result after measuring the minute displacement of the tissue with high accuracy using tracking on the RF signal (that is, tracking at the phase level of the received signal). be able to. In particular, since the sample point is tracked, the sample point moves with the movement of the tissue where the sample point is set. High results can be obtained.
Preferably, the information on the tissue strain is at least one of strain and strain rate. Preferably, the plurality of observation points are set on the same beam direction, and the information on the tissue strain corresponds to a beam direction component for at least one of the strain and the strain rate. Of course, as will be described later, the orthogonal components for the strain and the strain rate may be obtained.
Desirably, the information calculation means calculates difference of tissue displacement for the plurality of sample points to obtain relative displacement, and normalization that normalizes the relative displacement and calculates information related to the tissue strain. Of course, the reference distance can be a fixed value.
(2) Further, according to the present invention, an ultrasonic beam is repeatedly formed on the heart and an RF signal as a reception signal is sequentially output for each ultrasonic beam, and the ultrasonic beam is repeatedly formed. Sample point setting means for setting a pair of sample points spaced apart from each other on the beam direction, and tracking individually for a pair of points corresponding to the pair of sample points in the sequentially output RF signal Information calculation for calculating information representing tissue strain by calculating a difference in tissue displacement for the pair of sample points and a displacement calculation means for individually measuring the tissue displacement for the pair of sample points Means.
According to the above configuration, it is possible to observe even a slight abnormality of the heart wall motion that cannot be found by the conventional method.
As described above, according to the present invention, information related to tissue distortion can be obtained with high accuracy.
DESCRIPTION OF EXEMPLARY EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
First, the principle of this embodiment will be described. In this embodiment, a minute displacement of the myocardial tissue is measured using an echo tracking technique known per se. If this method is used, the tissue displacement can be measured with a resolution of, for example, about 10 μm using the RF signal (received signal before detection) as a tracking target. Therefore, compared with the method based on the TDI method, Measurement accuracy of strain and strain rate can be improved by about two digits. As already explained, according to echo tracking, the displacement can be measured following the movement of the sample point (tissue movement), so when measuring with absolute sample points as in the past, Compared to theory, it is more faithful.
More specifically, for example, as shown in FIG. 1, on the two-dimensional tomographic image (B-mode image) 10 about the apex of the heart, for example, tracking samples at two arbitrary points on a certain beam direction in the
The above will be further described using mathematical expressions. The displacement of the sample point S1 is ξ 1 (t), and the displacement of the
As can be seen from the above equation (3), the translational motion component of the entire tissue is removed by the difference in displacement between the two points, and only the relative displacement Δξ (t) between the two points is calculated.
Here, the reference distance r 0 may be an average value, a maximum value, a minimum value, or the like of a relative displacement between one heart beat, and may be updated for each heart beat. Alternatively, an average value for a plurality of heartbeats or the like may be used in order to eliminate the influence of respiration and the like. The strain rate (strain rate) is obtained by differentiating the strain with respect to time. If the above two sample points are set on both sides of the heart wall, for example, it is possible to obtain a time change in the thickness of the heart wall. Of course, the reference distance may be a certain fixed value, or may be a distance measured by a user or automatically measured using a tomographic image of the heart or the like, for example.
By the way, the strain calculated | required by the above is corresponded to a beam direction component. The actual strain is evaluated as a two-dimensional vector (or three-dimensional vector). Therefore, it is desirable to obtain the orthogonal component of the strain using the following calculation.
If necessary, the orthogonal component of the strain rate can be obtained by further differentiating the orthogonal component ε t with respect to time. It is possible to extend the above principle to three dimensions.
FIG. 4 shows a preferred embodiment of an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus according to the present invention, and FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing the overall configuration thereof.
In the example shown in FIG. 4, the
The
The
The B-mode
The blood flow
The
Incidentally, when the B-mode image formation and the displacement calculation are performed in parallel, the sample point is intermittently superposed with respect to the specified one or a plurality of specified beam directions while performing the scanning of the ultrasonic beam. A sound beam will be formed.
The
The
Next, a specific example of the
On the other hand,
Further, the divider 52 receives the minute angle Δθ and the depth r of the sample point, and the distortion ε t is obtained by executing the calculation of the above equation (11). This corresponds to the orthogonal component.
The above operation is executed in a time-sharing manner for each sample point, that is, the strain beam direction component and the orthogonal direction component are obtained for each sample point. Of course, when obtaining the strain rate, a time differentiation circuit may be provided at any stage, and such calculation is easy. For such a strain rate, both the beam direction component and the orthogonal direction component can be obtained.
